Truly one of the nicest hotels in the world. I travel frequently and love Salzburg. I give it an A+ from beginning to end. Ryan

Great hotel in perfect location. All staff were wonderful except evening desk clerk. We came back from a day of touring the city, and found the mirror in our bathroom had fallen off the wall and shattered all over the floor. We told clerk at desk and he didn't really care much. Was a bother to find a bucket and brush and left in at my wife's feet for us to clean up. The clerk from the attached theater was beyond helpful and insisted to clean up the mess. The evening clerk had a bad attitude with every encounter. Management emailed stating their apologies and clerk issue was delt with. I would still recommend hotel though.

Slightly difficult to find when I used the local bus system to get there, but the location is actually prime, once you get to know everything around it.

A charming historic hotel with an excellent location in the Altstadt. There is parking available, but it is located some distance from hotel. Rooms are good-sized but rather sparsely furnished, and the rooms facing the street can be noisy. The breakfast was very good as was the WiFi signal. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is average/decent. It certainly has some nice aspects (location, lobby), but improvements are needed. The rooms are spacious, nut not very tastfully decorated (not as traditionally Austrian as pictures make you believe, just boring. Beds are really old (not comfi). The bathroom was clean but below any modern standard (the van was louder than a helicopter, which couldnt be switched off). Location is perfect! Breakfast room is nice, but nothing is freshly served (bit dissapointing, but we had so much better in Austria). I did address my compliants about the room (bed and van) to front desk, but didnt receive any professional response (wait for the manager, your room is the best we have, etc.), but most staff was friendly.

Extremely good location. No complaints about anything, except one. the bed was really a box spring with no mattress. But we solved the problem by asking for additional comforters. we sleep on top of one comforter and used the over as the blanket. Problem solved!

Very nice hotel,3 minutes away by foot from the Dom platz,in a charming old world setting.Very friendly and helpful staff.Good breakfast.easy and inexpensive hotel parking.only word of caution:dont try finding it by GPS,it wont get you there,

The hotel is in a good location to all the Old Town Salzburg sites. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and breakfast was included in the price. There was no temperature control in the room was a down side.

We had a great time in Salzburg and what made it extra special was the location of our hotel! Everything was within walking distance from our room. And we didn't have to call a cab once in the 4 days we were there. The many tours that we did have, the hotel was on the pickup list for a major tour company. Even the walk from the drop off point was only a short 1km to the hotel. The mornings were a bit noisy because all the businesses were getting supplies in for the coming day. Also, if you don't like bells, this may not be the hotel room for you as there are at least 5 churches in the area that "do" bells every 15 mins. It was magical!

Wonderful location - stayed in Salzburg one other time. The walk from that hotel to Old Town was very long (45 min.)Hotel is decorated & furnished beautifully. Unfortunately, no air cond. in rooms so with the windows open it was very noisy (people walking by talking very loudly, delivery trucks at 5:45 am, etc) Beds were comfy, everything else about the room was excellent.

Location was fantastic however our GPS could not get us to the hotel. You have to enter restricted area of the old town through the gate that should have your reservation on the list. Parking needs to be reserved directly through the hotel - do not depend on the Internet providers. Hotel was quiet however our room located next to the elevator was quite noisy. Very good breakfast, nice breakfast room with attached garden.

Aparrantly the hotel has quite different rooms to offer. Due to the very old building, I guess about 4-500 years. The first room was rather small, with the wash basin right in the middle of the room. Very tidy though and quiet. My next stay few days after I had much nicer room, old furniture, cosy, kind of what you expect in an old hotel in an very old city

This hotel is ideally situated near the Old Town in Salzburg, so it's just a few minutes to the main squares. It looks like the hotel has been renovated and updated recently. There's a movie theater just off the lobby, so there are pictures of old Hollywood stars scattered around a sleek modern space. But upstairs, it's more traditional Austrian. So it's an odd mix. The bathrooms could use an update, though. Also, no internet terminals in the hotel, which is unfortunate since Internet cafes are hard to find in Salzburg. Great breakfast included as well.
