We had a week at this fantastic resort. From the moment we arrived we were looked after by the most wonderful staff. The food was delicious and if there was something the children wanted to eat the chef would make it even if it wasn't on the menu..Prasenjit was great. All the waiters, housekeeping, Joanna, Shamrao, in reception . The massages in the ayurvedic centre were incredible and Guruji gave a wonderful Yoga class in the mornings. The beach shack made the best sea food and had great ambience overlooking the beach .
From the first moment to the last we felt special and were treated like royalty. Our smooth check in was done by Sanjeev, Rahul,Kamakya who gave us a superb room as soon as possible so we could relax as we were early. Our room was huge, with extra king size bed. It was one of the newly renovated room, light, airy and with its own little garden.Samarth took great care of us with personal attentions and made sure that we really enjoy this holiday hats of to him. Breakfast time was like a banquet. with both local and international food on offer, plus they would make anything extra if requested, Sherwin and Joseph in the restaurant were great. Our first visit to the island bar was splendid, wonderful staff served us with new and unique cocktails with tasty finger food. One thing which my husband and my self liked was that mostly all managers came around to introduce themselves and inquire about our stay. A personal attention was given by very warm, welcoming waiter, Mac and Chef Jessuraj, He would arrange for us to have a special meal prepared for my husband, as he has some health problems. He would often give us a taster desert as we could not make-up our minds. The areas around the pool and beach were kept very clean and maintained the same all the time day and night. The hotel is spread over a large area and we were escorted by buggy everywhere by courteous and pleasant boys/men. One in particular was Mehul. I cannot praise enough, all the staff, including the warm greeting gardners and ever discreet housekeeping , who serviced ours rooms twice and day with fresh towels and toiletries. This has to be our most memorable holiday and we cannot wait to go back next year thanks xxx
We (2 adults + 2 kids) stayed a couple of nights and had a great fun being so close to the beach. The resort is very grand and you feel like you are somewhere special. Staff service levels are good and facilities excellent. Rooms are a good standard & beds very comfortable. Overall we were pleasantly surprised & would be hesitate booking this place again.
We spend new years at Caravela. The property itself was beautiful, bright open and airy and well maintained. There was access to a private beach. But what really made the trip special was how hospitable and warm ALL of the staff were. They really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying things. I look forward to visiting again. Note if this is your first visit to Goa, the property is quite a ways away from the main city and nightlife (at least an hour drive). The taxi system is a bit unique too with fixed prices.
Have stayed here earlier when it was a ramada prooperty. A bit old but well laid out property. All that a good resort should be. Good food although the service could be better. The bar is wel located overlooking the lobby.
We stayed here for a week at caravela beach resort , it has been a great stay, our room was just a walk away from great view of varca beach, room was throughly cleaned daily, with Good amenities, bathroom was nice and clean with a fantastic shower.the room attandent Peter was superb and their manager Samarth was really kind, professional and was of great help. They put up an amazing gala dinner on for NYE at the beach front of the resort and we toasted the NY in until 2am which was all inclusive included in the price of the hotel. There is a decent buffet breakfast put on every morning, and steward Mac will be really happy to serve you. This resort is situated at the quieter end of Goa which is welcomed if you don’t want to listen to the beep beeps every second of the day from the crazy Goan drivers further in to town.About wifi only two devices are free and third one is chargeable normally in all 5stared resorts high speed wifi is free by default. In all honesty the Caravela Beach Resort next probably has the better and vast lawns with a amazing pool.Staff which I have mentioned above were fantastic but mostly all staff Including beach security and restaurant staff were great, will be back on a another holiday soon.
Caravela Beach Resort is extremely well located at a walking distance from the private beach and the sea shore, which you reaches from crossing a beautiful garden with exotic trees. This spot is very well run, food is excellent, definitely try the restaurant on the beach. Breakfast is generous. The place is affordable and offers a very good value to who needs to get a well-earned break. Many thanks reiterated to the manager for his help.
Do not book a stay with Caravela under any circumstance. They claim to be a 5* resort, yet they charge for things like using a jacuzzi by the swimming pool. For over £150 per night, I expected a lot better from this resort. We had booked a superior double room, only to be given a twin room. They got housekeeping to join the two beds together thinking we will not realise. After complaining they said they will change it the next day as they had no rooms available. When I went to reception the next day they claimed that they were full and requested if I could move the next day. I politely refused. They then miraculously found a room which was free. This room was in fact a garden facing room which was a grade below what we had booked. They said they had a room available for the next day. I told them this was a garden facing room which was a lower category. They denied this so I showed them pictures on their website upon which they were stone faced. In a weeks stay I had to change rooms three times. We also had to ring housekeeping to get towels in our rooms, as well as shampoos and shower gels. I expected a lot more from a resort that claims to be 5*. On check out I had been charged for stuff that I hadn't purchased. Upon investigation they had charged spend fron the previous occupants of the room to us! Unfortunately the management of this hotel are very rude and not competent to do their jobs. However the staff are very hardworking, but it looks like they are overworked. At times the staff were deployed for other priorities. An example is that the owners had thrown a poolside party. That meant that half the pool was shut for guests to use. It also meant that at dinner time the staff were deployed there which meant that it took an hour to be served our meals at dinner and orders got mixed up. Overall this resort is a 3* resort but charging 5* prices.
This was our first time staying at the hotel, not our first time travelling and staying in Goa. Caravela, overall is OK at best, there is the main building which houses newer rooms and then a separate construction which sits on the other edge of the property - we stayed here and found it a bit tedious to walk back and forth to the main building (with our child) for all our dining and breakfast needs. The property is nice (not great) there is a golf course between the two buildings. What we disliked most was how slow the service was overall, specially for dinner services in their main atrium. Seems like there were a ton of staff running around but not properly managed. For a Saturday dinner we waited over an hour to get our food, then decided to take our food to go, which took another hour (dinner consisted of couple apps and a child's meal), while we were waiting for our to-go box, we were bothered by the chef to do a good recommendation, whilst we were explaining to him about our two-hour ordeal! He completely missed the conversation and kept asking about a review on Trip Advisor... (insert frustrated Emoji). So while the food was great on the property the service lacked. We also had a bad service (for one of the two days) during our private taxi rental through the hotel but that is a story for another day! I used the Spa Services for a mani/pedi and eyebrows, the ladies there were really nice, service was good. The pool is nice and big. The pool bar is nice, and the service in the pool bar was good! The beach bar was closed when were there on account of a wedding so did not get to try it. The beach is the best part, with great sunsets, there are also a couple beach shacks that we tried, that had awesome Goan food. So no complains there! I would like to end by stating, that I am a Goan expat (with a multi-cultural family). We visit Goa often and I recommend the place as a great destination to all my American/European friends. I would love to recommend Caravela to them but unfortunately have found better options around Goa (South and North).
Excellent food..efficient staff, spacious rooms, clean and best beach..... thoroughly enjoyed the whole stay.....best place to stay in Goa.....must try rose petal ice cream, roasted almond ice cream, fish balchao,Dahi wala chicken.......it has beautiful boat shack at the beach to unwind urself!Kids pool and early morning yoga sessions were gud too!!!!
