it was christmas day, staff was so pleasant. artwork in lobby was awesome.

under construction. great location nice staff bed was not comfortable

We picked this hotel because it was downtown, and had a pool. When we checked in we were told the pool was closed, because of the remodeling that was happening. We were awoken one morning at 7am by workers on the roof. Also, I forgot how loud the train can be. Very unfortunate timing for us I suppose. I'm sure once the remodeling is done the hotel will be an ok place to stay.

staff was kind and helpful, felt very comfortable staying here. trains did wake me up, but it was kind if exciting to hear them.

The hotel location was very good with easy access on and off the I-80. However, it was also across the street from the train, and we heard cargo trains passing in the night - very loud. We asked to move rooms as our window was directly by the tracks, but they told us everyone else earlier in the day had requested moves and there were no additional options. The room was clean and tidy, but outdated. The breakfast in the morning was simple but fresh.

Delightful ‘motel as Inn’ complex with free parking and right in ‘downtown’ 1 block to restaurants, bars, shops; 1 block to AMTRAK station with many and frequent trains to Sacramento, Oakland, and San Francisco

Great location within walking distance to all downtown Davis restaurants, shops, etc. Friendly staff and decent accommodations.

This is an historic building right in the heart of San Francisco, close to many attractions. I loved the original condition of many of the features, although sharing a bathroom is not my favorite thing to do. Very cool place to stay to experience the city.

This was a lovely little hotel. Very convenient to downtown Davis. The work-out facilities could use a bit of work. The cafe was fresh and convenient.

We've stayed here frequently over the years. They've done a nice job of upgrading the property and rooms. The staff is friendly, and the rooms are quite comfortable.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights on our vacation. I was very pleased about the quality and service I got. Will recommend this hotel for couples who actually want to see night life In Davis and get some serious times for each other!!!

Good hotel/motel in San Francisco with good value for the $. Good location with good restaurants, bars and access to major streets.

The hotel is right downtown by all the restaurants and shops. Across the street there is a Whole Foods, which is great since you have a fridge and microwave in your room. The pool area is smaller but I was the only one laying out at each each morning so that was a plus. They give you earplugs for the train noises. They have bikes you can use to ride around Davis. There is an AWESOME ice cream place to the left of the front doors of the hotel....stopped there frequently :) A movie theatre right across the street! Thought it was a little pricey, but I guess you pay for the location.

The doors slam shut. It's so loud that you can hear the doors from the other rooms slamming shut. We could also hear the water from the next door room running when they turn on the shower. Didn't really notice the train. It's in a great location. And I wish the bed is a little bit more comfortable. Probably the best in Davis.

Was in town to visit some old friends and this place was a good location to meet up with people. The Amtrak is extremely close by, so you'll hear the train past by, but I'm a heavy sleeper and it didn't bother me much.

Close to family so perfect for this type of visit, but not a luxury experience

In Davis to check out the campus and the location of this hotel is perfect! Borrow bikes at the front desk and follow the walking/biking trail thru the arboretum into campus <3 blocks away. tons of walkable eateries. minimally dated but spotless. yes we heard the train twice but not a problem!

the location is so convenient! everything is walkable and bicycles are available to borrow if you want to venture a bit further or tour the UC Davis campus. the rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. perks include a breakfast voucher for the days of your stay and a complimentary 'happy hour' each evening.

Stayed here in May 2014. Great location on the east edge of downtown, close to many of the better restaurants in the downtown area. Lots of parking, nice roomy lobby. We didn't use the small cafe (Cafe 110) because we ate out every morning. Other reviewers have complained about the train noise, but it didn't bother us at all. You can hear the train horn (you hear that in most of downtown Davis) but apart from that, we didn't hear any train noise at all. We had a room on the West side, overlooking the pool (so, about as far from the tracks as possible). The room was spacious, and the AC worked flawlessly. The carpet looked a little worn. The only strange thing was the coffee maker's being in the bathroom, about 4 feet from the toilet !

Thank you for your review Linda! While we love the train and the opportunity it provides for our guests to travel easily to Sacramento and San Francisco, the noise can be a bit much for light sleepers. We do provide ear plugs to help minimize the impact it has on our guests. We hope you will come back and visit us soon!
