Nice hotel, BUT...

Stayed overnight in one of the suites, paid a holding deposit of 100 Euros on a debit card. On checkout we settled the bill in full and told the holding deposit wiuld be redunded in the next 7 days. This never happened even after sending 5 emails, direct to the hotel and through this app! I had to get my card issuer involved to resolve this a month on. For this reason I cannot recommend thos hotel.

Wonderful Stay

A wonderful stay from start to finish. Hotel is immaculate, spotlessly clean and nicely designed. Our room was extremely nice and clean and looked after 2 adults and 2 children easily. Facilities are excellent with use of spa and pools. Location wise the hotel is perfect, extremely short walk to 2-3 beaches and a 10 minute walk to the town centre for lots of restaurants etc. Our stay couldn’t have been better, highly recommended.

Outstanding hotel and staff

Outstanding location with beautiful ocean views; the hotel has also been fully renovated. The hotel and restaurant staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We were traveling with a young child and the chef made whatever dinner she asked for. Truly a great destination!

The view from the upper room, pool and restaurant’s terrasse is unique. The food is excellent and the staff is very friendly. Our room was very nice and confortable. The only problem we had was with the wifi which was not constant.

Love this hotel and stay here often. It is well situated between the town with shops, restaurants and market (10 min walk) and Pontaillac with it's beach front casino, shops and restaurants (15-20 min walk). Rooms are well appointed, spacious and clean. There is a Spa with steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and jets in the pool area as well a gymnasium. A variety of treatments are available book in advance of your stay, list is available to download etc. We have not tried the sea-view restaurant which offers breakfast lunch and dinner with a full extensive menu as we usually go out. Last but not least the staff and management are so welcoming and helpful, have already booked our return visit!

Very disappointing

The hotel reception was the best part of this hotel and the reception staff. Our stay was after the school holidays and was still very expensive for the size and quality of room. I could forgive the size and design of the room if the spa facilities were great, but they also were dated and very small. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you are a young couple as the place was full of much older people. The bar and waiting staff were OK but not very friendly or helpful... we stood at the bar for over 15 minutes and then someone walked up in front of us to be served immediately and we were just ignored. We will not be staying at this hotel again in the future. This was our first time to Royan and we were very disappointed.
