Staff on reception was friendly. Check in went smoothly. Also after check out we could leave our bags behind for a couple of hours. When I asked to book a table in restaurant was done quite promptly. Location was not to bad -Metro 10 minutes brisk walk, Colosseum 25minutes, Fontana Di Trevi half an hour. Very nice Gellato Fossi - ice-cream place next door- one of the famous and oldest in Rome. Very good. Room was good and clean downside was bathroom and shower. Definitely need improvement and freshen it up .Also Air conditioning for 1 day there was an additional charge of €5, I wasn't aware of that. Wi-Fi as well an extra charge.
Arrived at the hotel no porter service was provided and three flights of stairs. The room stinks of cigarette smoke and the bed had sharp plastic ties sticking into my back. I asked to be moved and the manager said no rooms available. I then said well I can't sleep on it can you change the mattress and he said no. So I tried on flip the mattress and discovered urine all over it and it wasn't a real bed. I felt sick he then offered another family room when I showed him the photos and I said what would the difference be and he said nothing. So I said we will leave and would like a refund. He said no refund we had only just checked in and he also would not call a taxi. The most disgusting hotel I have ever encountered. I don't know how trip advisor can give a four star review. It needs to be inspected the whole hotel and shut down. The manager said to me it's really a two star bad luck.
We stayed here on our honeymoon, hotel was very clean, with wifi and aircon at an added extra only €1 per day for wifi and €5 per day for aircon. Breakfast was a little standard as there was no cereal or fruit, only bread with jam or cheese with coffee or juice. It was nice for what it was. All staff were very friendly, everyone wanted to help you.
This is a quaint little place in the heart of Rome. Near buses and shopping. The area is not the greatest but I'm from NYC and expect small older rooms and city like surroundings. Staff was nice and helpful, great free breakfast and cute rooms with large windows that open.
This hotel is the worst I have stayed in! It was like a labyrinth, there are no elevators once so ever! It is very narrow and compact. They charge for wifi and AC. The breakfast was only bread and coffee. It is also a 30 min walk to the colosseum and some other stores around. They charge an excessive amount of city tax per person!
We stayed here june 2016 for two nights . It was a 5 min walk from the termini and easy to find. Inside it's quiet and you can hear anything from outside. Air conditioning and wifi in room (which we paid for at reception) no English Channels! Room is basic but lovely, nice bathroom and shower cubicle.. kept lovely and clean! You can tell the staff take pride in their work here and it's a lovely run little hotel. Deserves far more than the 2 * that it has! Good base for getting around Rome.. not far from the colosseum at all! We didn't stay for breakfast due to getting out and about as soon as we woke up so can't comment on that! Would I stay here again? Most definitely!!
We had a great time in Rome, and the central location of Taormina was a great value to us. The staff was very kind and helpful. The room was nice and clean, but a bit noisy. Still 5/5 star eating. Thank you.
Good value for the price. Simple breakfast, staff, especially the gentleman working in the evenings from the Philippines was very professional and helpful. The rooms are alright, there is everything you need and they are clean. Location is perfect.
Pros: Close the the metro. Friendly staff. Attentive housekeeping work. Large park close by. Cons: No iron in the room. Amenities and room functions are NOT explained by staff at check-in. There is a key given to you and it controls your lights as well. The problem is that if you are in a room with two people, and someone takes the key while you are in the shower, all lights cut off including the ones in the bathroom. It's very alarming.
Overall we were pretty happy with this hotel. Our room was clean, had recently been updated, and the bathroom was huge. The street noise (especially the tram) was loud, but the thick windows helped. The hotel staff were wonderful and very helpful. Breakfast was not great - just rolls and croissants with butter and jam, and a coffee bar. The hotel is in a good location - 5 minutes walk to the subway, 10 minutes to Rome's main train station, 15 minutes to two beautiful churches (Santa Maria Maggiore and San Giovanni in Laterano), 20 minutes to the Colosseum. As other reviewers have mentioned, the neighborhood has a lot of graffiti, but I felt perfectly safe walking around. There's a great grocery store down the street, and a highly-rated gelato place next door. Wifi in the lobby was free, but it was €1 per night for access in our room.
