This hotel was very adequate, clean rooms with all the amenities you need. Perfect location. Was within 5 minute walk to train, metro or buses! Breakfast was traditional European breakfast. I was one of the lucky ones. I had an outside balcony. Once we found the terrace, we eat breakfast, and just hung out there. Also it was a nice place to play cards.
This reasonably priced hotel is within a very short walk of the main Rome train station. It's about a 15 min walk to the Forum area. The room was fine and housekeeping did a nice job. If you are a large person, the shower will likely not work for you. I cannot say strongly enough how helpful the front desk staff was. They gave excellent directions and called the tour company for me more than once. They always greeted us when we came in and genuinely wanted to be helpful.
This is a lovely hotel. In a great location. Train station not 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Check in, check out very easy. There is a locked room to put your cases if you are early for check in. Rooms made up every day. And clean towels too. Every day. Some great restaurants all around the hotel. And there's a shop on the corner. Where you can buy wine, the shop will open it for you. And take it back to the hotel. Where there is an area with tables and chairs you can use.
We stayed at this hotel for several nights. It was a great room with adequate room for us. The shower was a little small but it worked out just fine. The AC was great to have at the end of super hot days in July. The location was fantastic b/c it was close to Termini station and hitch rides on the buses that went everywhere we needed to go. There was a great cafe a few places down to the right that had great food. Also nearby was a place that had great pizza. Overall, this was a great place to stay and would stay there again when we return to Roma.
Stayed for 3 nights. hotel staff was very helpful in the way of directions, mapping us to the popular sites, and speak fluent english. The hotel was clean but slightly dated, and the continental breakfast was fresh and well served. The location is also great. Termini station is less than a block. There is a decent restaurant across the street, and mini-marts on 2 corners of the block. About 20 min - 1/2 hour walk from the spanish steps. 2 blocks from hop on/hop off bus tours (which are also great for touristy people like myself). I would stay here again..
The Windrose is located close to the train station for tourist Hop On Hop Off buses. We were booked for three nights and that was enough. The twin room pictured on the web site is misleading. Our twin room was incredibly tiny - allowing for just enough room to walk around two twin beds pushed together. The bathroom barely allowed enough room to stand and when sitting on the toilet one must sit on an angle to avoid getting the towel rack in the neck. Shower is incredibly tiny. Wifi hotspot is available ONLY in the lobby. We heard a number of excuses from reception including the building is old and iPhones don't work well with wifi. Dining room is very small and cramped for the number of hotel guests. Cold cuts, cheeses, yoghurt, pastries, cereal and bread for toasting is available in the morning. Rooms are very clean. Mattresses and pillows are extra firm. Would not stay here again.
We arrived at the Windrose Hotel in Rome on June 20, 2017 and stayed 3 nights as the second part of our Paris Rome 28th Anniversary trip. Our Taxi driver was friendly and engaging . I regret not making arrangements with him for a pickup to the airport also. As for the Windrose, it is clean , with contemporary decor , located centrally in Rome very close(waking distance) from the Termini station , where you can easily catch a bus or train/Metro to easily get around the city and see the sights . The staff at the Windrose was friendly, attentive , and caring. They are multi lingual and very friendly. A shout out to Paolo, Livia, and Pino at the front desk. They were helpful and informative whenever we needed them . The rooms are cozy , with a small fridge. The only drawback is that the showers are very small and difficult to walk in and out of. Nevertheless, we had a great time . La Famiglia restaurant across the street serves delicious pasta/ pizza , wine, desserts at very reasonable prices. We are there twice in 3 days . The Colosseum was spectacular , and was The Vatican and the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica etc. The Fontana De Trevi is an awesome sight . No matter whether you walk, take a taxi or bus , there are awesome views and architectural wonders everywhere . Great Cannolis, cold Peroni, great Italian wine . We had a great time and hope to be back again ! Ciao, Italia !
Really good location, close to the Stazione Termini, which is the main train and underground station in Rome. Hotel staff were helpful, the elevator worked and could hold at least 2 people plus luggage. The room was clean, neat and very compact. The biggest complaint I had was the size of the shower, I literally had to squeeze through the door; even my wife who is petite, said she could not bend over to wash her feet. For me a door that opened 6 inches wider would work. We slept well, and the hotel is out of the way of heavy traffic, we found it to be quiet. We had a lovely time in Rome and the hotel was part of that good time.
It is a cozy and warm hotel. The staffs are friendly and nice. They can communicate in English without any problem. The rooms are clean. They check and clean the rooms every day. it is very close to the railway station, Metro station and several bus stations. Also, you can reach the hop on, hop off buses within 5 minutes of walking. Although the breakfast is not a warm one, it is light and tasty enough to give you a chance to have traditional Italian pizzas or pasta for the lunch. I recommend this hotel for families.
If you are used to living in a shoe box you will love this hotel. It is clean and the staff are friendly. However the rooms or at least mine is so small where the bed is I can touch both walls at the same time. I booked through my agency at work specifically asking for a double bed. I got a bed barely wider than my shoulders. Don't know who is at fault but won't stay again
