Nice staff but hotel can have better facilities...
I wasn't looking for luxury, spa facilities, bar, free breakfast, a restaurant or any other fancy extras. I just wanted a nice enough room close to where I needed to be. What I got was a relatively small but quite pleasant and more than adequate room for my needs, a comfortable bed, a better than expected bathroom and a very friendly reception desk person who personally guided me up to my room. Yes, finding the room can be a little confusing and the rise up to the balcony was much higher than would be proper, but the hotel does have a small elevator and the view of the street from the balcony was quite enjoyable. If I was staying longer, I might have enjoyed some more time there. The balcony did not have a table or chair, but I just hung out by the railing anyway. Considering I was only a few short blocks from the main road leading the St. Peter's Square at a price that was much less than what I expected to pay, I can only say I thank God that I was able to find this hotel. Would I stay again at this hotel if I had the chance? Absolutely!
The hotel was ok. We spent one night there. It was a good deal for the price. At 2 stars you can't expect much. Location is good blocks from the Vatican and Castel San Angelo. Many busses nearby. Subway is a bit away. Our room had a standup shower and was above the street .. The key snapped off in the lock...They have a terrace on the fourth floor. There is an elevator but it doesn't stop where the hotel desk is, when you arrive. It was half of the hotel across the street however.
It isn't far from there Vatican or other Spanish steps, trevi fountain, or pantheon. It's a little far from the colesseum but itpf you enjoy walking it will be fine. The hotel was what I expected a small room and bathroom basic for a place to sleep and shower. The bed was a little uncomfortable but fine if you only stay a few nights
I stayed at this hotel for a conference at the Vatican, so for me you couldn't beat the location. But I also noticed that it was very close to a stop for the hop-on Tourist bus that people took, so I would imagine that it is great for tourists, too. The concierges all spoke a variety of languages, which was very helpful. The bed was a little hard and the maids only did a so-so job of cleaning, but the room was very spacious, which is not always common for a European hotel. All in all I felt it was very safe and convenient and a great value for the price. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
