Central location makes walking to the Vatican, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain very doable. The side streets are loaded with all kinds of shops. There are high end shops on a couple of streets, along with bakeries, restaurants and upscale shops. Loads of character try to ignore the begging.

GReatLocation!! Staff was VERY helpful and friendly - provided local maps and directions. Room was very nice - with nice bathroom tub, shower etc. there's a mini fridge with drinks - costs on the desk. Breakfast room service is available - but the view from the rooftop breakfast area is NOT to be missed!!! Typical continental breakfast with rolls, meat, cheese, cereal, fruit, two kinds of eggs - etc. staff was Very friendly and helpful!!

I just had an amazing vacation in Rome with my girlfriend. This hotel is in a very central location and most important places to visit were in 5-20min walking distance. The rooftop breakfast is simply incredible - it is on the 6th floor and you can see Rome's skyline. Just have in mind that it is a little difficult to get to the hotel by taxi since it is right in front of the city hall and the square is closed (easiest way is from Piazza Colona then walk 50 feet to the hotel) and closed subway station is 10-15min walking (Piazza Spagna). But these inconvenience are the price for having a really good central location. Overall we had a perfect vacation considering that it was our first time in Rome.

This hotel was fAntasitc. It was centrally located and easy to walk everywhere from here. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are greAt. The mattresses are really firm otherwise a great place

The hotel was perfectly located for everything we wanted to see. The staff was helpful and friendly and the rooms were nice. I would say the mattresses were very very firm and not as comfortable to sleep on. Otherwise a great place

This is a descent hotel with very convenient location.

The location was great and the rooftop was beautiful. The stained carpet, lumpy mattress, and smell of smoke in the room were major downsides but seem fairly typical of all hotels in the area and price range. Service was mixed- I had one front desk agent who was very helpful in helping us book a tour and another who wouldn't take the time. All-in-all, I think it was a good deal.

This hotel is located a block away from the Pantheon! The room size was very large and comfortable, but furniture is ordinary, nothing special. good value for money.

I've been to Rome many times. This hotel has a fantastic (guarded) location with a beautiful roof-top garden for breakfast and evening drinks while you watch the sunset. Close to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and the Treve Fountain,,,you cannot find a better location. There is a bus stop very close so that you can get to and from the train station (bus 85) very quickly. Finally, the staff was extremely helpful and assisted with directions and recommendations for certain events. I had 3 in my party, wife and daughter, and the room was very large size for such a party. My only minus to this hotel was that the bed was hard and therefore not comfortable for me. My wife did not seem to mind this.

we've been staying there for 15 years. this experience was very different. no wifi, had to be room changed 3 times to get acceptable room. there was no recollection that we had stayed there numerous times and staff was simply put out this year. i guess the hotel is at a low point. i would NOT recommend other than for location. sad.

This is our third hotel in Rome in the past 2 years and I think we will stop at this one, even though the others were very good also. The location was perfect for walking to major sights. The staff was helpful and friendly. We got lucky with a larger room than I expected, it had 3 beds though we were 2 people. We were in the part that was not yet renovated but the bed was comfortable and there was lots of room. It was quiet. We loved being able to walk just about everywhere. A delicious buffet breakfast got our day off to a good start.

The staff was off putting and rude. The door on my room didn't lock and I asked to be moved to a new room and that lock was also broken. The pillows, sheets and pillow was old and well used. It had a bad, moist odor. I asked for heating to be activated in my room and they didn't want to oblige. It was cold and raining Dec. 26, 2013. I stayed in an NH Hotel in Firenze and it was beautiful, it was only a hundred dollars more than Roma, but well worth it. This hotel in the states would be a 2 star.

If you are looking for a nice place that is comfortable in a great location, this is it. There are so many places to stay in Rome, but the Colonna Palace Hotel was right in the center of many of the most famous sites. I was limited on my time, so didn't require much, but I was extremely happy with the room and hotel as whole. I noticed that some reviewers rated the Colonna Palace lower based on the newness of some of the furnishings, while it's true some updates could really raise the overall feel it was still a very nice stay. The only, very minor, issue I had was the fact that though Wifi was available, it was based on the purchase of 24 hour blocks. Charging for Wifi has been common throughout my stays in Europe, but it would be nice to pay for the entire stay and only need a single password during that stay. The bottom line is I would definitely look into staying here again during future trips to Rome.

Very nice hotel with an amazing location. Right in the center of Rome within walking distance of almost every major historic site. Room size was a little bigger than expected for where the hotel was located with updated bathroom. Staff was very nice and accommodating.

We travelled as a family of 7 and had three rooms. We had a great view, clean spacious rooms. The breakfast was good, the roof top deck was awesome. The best part of the hotel was it's great central location. It was in walking distance to many great tourist attractions and restaurants.

This was our 2nd stay at this hotel. Great location, and price. Very clean, staff very helpful

We only stayed one night before heading home and were very happy the beds were comfortable and the shower had good pressure. The one downfall was that they turned the AC off at night so we had to have a fan brought up to our room. The breakfast on the roof in the morning was lovely, the food was good and it a variety to choose from. The employees were all very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay in Rome but not a longer one.

I chose this hotel purely for the location, the price and because I knew exactly what I was getting (I have stayed there 3 times in the past). The hotel is "fine" although it is in need of a major overhaul/renovation. The furnishings are old and worn and have likely not been updated in several decades. The location, however, is amazing -- a 2 minute walk to the Pantheon, a 10 minute walk to the Spanish Steps and about a 20 minute walk to the Vatican.

The Reception Staff was Fabulous. We arrived without our luggage (yes it was "lost" "delayed")and they were so friendly and hopeful and helpful for the luggage arrival. The rooftop garden breakfast room was a wonderful way to start your day and the breakfast was delicious! The Hotel is in a great location...we walked everywhere and the staff always pointed us in the right direction. My sister and I had a great time and would definitely stay there again.

Everything was great. Especially at this price point. Super location. A staff that can't do enough for you. First rate recommendations for local restaurants. Rooms are good size; a little worn but clean. Bathrooms sparkle.
