Candlewood Suites St Robert2.5 out of 5.0

Candlewood needs to stop calling itself a hotel chain. It is not. It is a chain of small efficiency apartments, without ovens, for rent by the day. If this is what you want--and if having a tiny kitchen is more important than getting the kind of basic conveniences even super budget hotels provide--then this is the place for you. If you are really just looking for a lower price hotel with a refrigerator and a microwave in the room, you can do a lot better elsewhere, at locations as good or better than Candlewood. Maid service happens once a week. That means your single small trash can will overflow (they tell you to carry your trash to the dumpster yourself if you want it emptied), an unmade bed (unless you make it yourself), no fresh linens or towels all week (unless you go to the front desk, beg, and make up the room yourself), no replenishing of the single tiny shampoo and two tiny soaps for a full week, and just one pack of caffeinated coffee for a full week. There is free (bad) machine coffee downstairs, but nothing else is free--not even donuts. There is a small room with food items for sale, and a WalMart a short drive away. They advertise a full kitchen, but there is no oven. The fridge has no ice tray. You might think lack of maid service, no breakfast, and no other conveniences would mean a cheap room rate. It does not. For the same price, you can stay in an actual hotel with maid service and a free hot breakfast, maybe not a stovetop but almost certainly a fridge and a microwave. The only way you save money is if you cook every meal yourself--and that's a maybe, because if you eat at least some meals at a fast food restaurant, it's cheaper to stay in an actual hotel that has free breakfasts, a fridge, and a microwave. Ask yourself how many meals you're actually going to cook on the range, as opposed to just heat, to see if it's worth it. What's really annoying about this place is how they justify what they don't provide. No maid service because it gives you privacy? Bull. Every hotel has a "Do Not Disturb" option. No need for breakfast because you can buy and cook your own? Bull again. Other chains with similar kitchenettes give you a hot breakfast (e.g,. Marriott TownePlace Suites has nicer kitchenettes plus a free hot breakfast, though there is not one of these in St. Robert). They are just plain cheap. On the plus side, the room is comfortable, bedding is nice, and there is cable. The pluses stop there.
Great hotel excellent friendly staff. Easy access to the interstate. Rooms are spacious with a nice kitchen area with full size fridge. The beds were very comfortable. Pet Friendly with a nice area to walk your dogs.
Here 2 weeks. Best place I have ever stayed in my life, and I'm old!!!! They are polite, and very accomadating. It is very clean. Comfortable, quiet. Nice room. Awesome laundry room. I have enjoyed my time here. The entire staff are absolute gems. I wish they worked for me!!!
Nice hotel, clean and comfy rooms. Pet-friendly. Quiet with a friendly and attentive staff. Great location. No pool on site, but they do have an agreement with some nearby hotels and we were able to take the kids swimming.
This is a large hotel, conveniently located on the post at Fort Leonard Wood. We had two rooms, both spacious,, clean, with everything in good working order. The wifi was easy to use and pretty speedy.
Although it does not provide breakfast and 3 nights a week of low budget dinner, the suite has a stove top and full size refrigerator. There is also a "lending locker " where you can borrow kitchen items such as slow cooker and toaster oven. I had a one bedroom suite that was very spacious and clean. I really like this hotel and will stay here again when I am in St Robert.
This was one of the most pleasant stays at a hotel that I have ever had. The lobby was clean upon arrival, the check-in process was fast and the staff was very friendly. I loved my suite! I had everything I needed for a long term stay. I was quite impressed with how clean the hotel was. There were never any fingerprints on the elevator door. The elevator floor was also always clean. The stairways were very clean as well as the glass doors on all sides of the hotel. I didn't use the gym but I did use the free laundry facilities. I always found it easier to get into the laundry room during the week; otherwise, it was difficult to get a machine. I especially give praise to the staff for they went above and beyond the call of duty to make me feel like a valued member.
Pleasantly surprised and thrilled with our online booking choice at Candlewood. We stayed for my son's graduation from Fort Leonard Wood. A very short and easy commute to the base, rooms were exceptional and staff was very pleasant, helpful, and kind!! Pricing was affordable and reasonable. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
I was here for 3 months and am very happy with my stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the free laundry was very convenient, and the room was cleaned thoroughly each week. They even fluffed my pillows on cleaning day! I would definitely stay here again. The only downside was that the windows don't open.
This was absolutely one of the best Hotel's I have ever stayed in. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to assist us in every way. They even let us swim at one of their sister Hotel's. The housekeepers were also very friendly and seemed to enjoy their job. The WHOLE Hotel was so nice and clean and the bed's are the most comfortable I have ever slept on and would love to have one at home. It was the best 2 night's of rest I have ever had. If you are planning to visit Missouri I suggest you book ahead and make this a "Must stay at Hotel" You won't be dissapointed..
