We managed to book a discount deal for a 1-night stay, which was a decent price. The hotel wasn't too far off the main highway, so was handy for us. Check-in staff were nice and friendly, and were helpful when asked questions. When we arrived the hotel/reception itself, it was pleasing to see it was clean and tidy. The room that we were booked into was a decent size, with a comfy bed and had all necessary amenities. Parking was a bit of a hassle though, as was the lack of room service or nearby take-away food places. We had been driving all day, and once checked in, did not want to have to drive to find a decent (healthy!) meal to eat in the hotel room. Plus, with the lack of parking available, we also didn't want to lose our spot which we eventually managed to get in the covered area (we had to originally park in the area separate to the hotel, which we felt was not very safe for our car even though staff stated it had 24hr surveillance). Staff were nice enough to suggest the restaurant nearby, which we ended up getting food from but at a very hefty price! The bathroom/shower was good apart from the temperamental hot water system. Mid-shower we had to battle with the ever-changing & random temperatures that would unexpectedly go from warm to cold to burning hot. So washing hair was not easy especially when you're constantly having to turn the taps to get the right temperature! All in all, the hotel and the room served it's main purpose of being able to lay our weary heads down for a decent nights sleep on a comfy bed before continuing our adventure on the highway.

I always stay here as it is central to all of my work activities around town; and a short stroll to the best restaurants. Staff are always friendly, and efficient. Rooms are spacious, aircon and TV are great :)

Very clean and tidy. But they did forget to put a hand towel in the bath room. Service desk people were very helpful with telling us where a good place for tea. Breakfast is not worth $19.50. Me and my husband would stay there again but get breakfast somewhere.

Room was fair but outdated. Advertised free wifi button will be billed if you use over 1mb which by the way would be impossible because when you connect it is so slow I fell asleep waiting for a page to load and couldn't face time at all. Not what I expected for having paid $150 pn. Breakfast, advertised to 9am however I was not able to access 10 mins before 9 and not offered refund.

Always stay at 'home' when possible on visits to Rockhampton usually 4-6 times a year. Clean, comfortable surroundings. The bed and pillows ensures a good nights sleep. Friendly and courteous staff enhance the experience. Glad to see the fire alarms work and the Emergency Fire Response was prompt. Pity all the guests did not respond!

Quite a small room, but very clean and had everything needed........very comfortable bed, and I would have liked to take the pillows home they were so comfortable. Quiet room and the heating / cooling was perfect.

Clean and close to facilities. Only thing lacking in our opinion is cooking facilities....A microwave oven (even on request) would, have made us much happier. Great staff!...helpful and pleasant . Our room was clean and well maintained. Our room was overlooking the city. A nicer view would have been over the Fitzroy river, however it was only a short stroll to and along the river walk way.A pleasant walk.

No TV reception is just the start- I asked 4 times to have tv reception fixed, it never was for the 5 days was there. I had to always ask for towels as my room was always forgotten. This very tired and out dated hotel has had its day, it is in desperate need of a refurb. Staff were friendly howveer.

We booked with what looked like a great deal online - even though it was non-refundable the website made the room look good. Booked in for a room overlooking the river - was not disappointed with the view at all, great to see the sun go down, lights across the water, then the fog roll in in the morning. Gorgeous. The booking did not go as planned however - put through this booking for two days however the website seems to have a glitch - instead of telling me the room was not available for two nights, it just booked us in for one. A non-refundable room but only for one night which meant we had to go elsewhere for the second night. Incredibly frustrating. The staff during check in and check out were very friendly - however when we had an issue with the wifi it almost felt like we were just bothering them with trivial issues (which to some it may be, but when you are in a different country wifi is the only connection you have to home or to find your way around for the next day. As other reviews on here say, we also had to share our room with quite a few ants - they were all over the bench and the bathroom. However, the bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked, and as said above, the view over the river was perfect for our first visit to the city.

Great customer service. Food could use improvement. Staff were very friendly and approachable. Accommodation was clean. Shower could use slight upgrade with higher water pressure and hotter water. Overall very good though.
