The home is lovely and the huge window brought it the sunlight and view. The open floorplan made it easy to converse no matter where we were in the house. Very spacious and private.

1, The listing said the main floor master was a king bed. It is a queen. The bunks have a weight limit that was not disclosed at booking. So one of my guest had to sleep on the couch.2, There is black mold in both of the upstairs showers. Cobwebs in the master shower and kitchen.3, Microwave vent is held together with duct tape.4, The outdoor lights at the hot tub did not work, even after plugging them in and checking all connections.5, The only TV is in the basement where there is only seating for 4 people. (We had some older people in our group that were not able to do the stairs).6, The sliding door screen in the basement area does not have an outside handle. It will trap you out!!! Other than these issues, the home is beautiful. I'm sure the mountain view is so much better once the trees shed their leaves in winter. The gravel road up to the cabin is not as scary as the video lol! Overall we had a great time.

Summary Trip to the Mountains

Overall the house is beautiful and was very comfortable for a family of 10. The living areas are large and suitable for large families to hang out. Lower level has a fuseball table, mini pool table, and tons of board games. Communication with home owners was clear and responsive. A few small but manageable criticisms: Mountain view is obscured in the summer from tall trees, showers needed a deep clean, and there was only 1 TV in the house, on the lower level. Listing also shows 'gym' and 'table tennis' but neither were in the house.

Beautiful Getaway

The house is beautiful. Towels were one per person- a few extra on hand would have been nice but not essential. The house had all the basic kitchen equipment. The trees have grown out since the original photos were taken so the views were a little obscured, but the area is gorgeous. We had family staying at Fontana Village and it took about 25 minutes to get there, 30 if you're not comfortable on the curvy roads. Having so much space for everyone to gather together was great. Thank you for the great vacation!

The chalet itself was as described and very comfortable for my family. The only downside was the hot tub. One of my sisters spent over 30 minutes cleaning the cover and the area around it which was very dirty.

Stunning Cabin with everything you could need

We were visiting Fontana for a car event for the weekend and needed a cabin for some of our team, the location was great, perfect communication and the cabin was exactly as described, would 100% recommend.

Thanksgiving Get-away

I was looking for a place to accommodate family for Thanksgiving. Our family was located in four different states and this Dragon Tail Chalet was the perfect midpoint location. The fully equipped kitchen met our needs in serving our Thanksgiving meal and for our family visit. The beautiful mountain backdrop with a cozey lite fireplace gave us all a relaxing home felt atmosphere. The amenities provided met our expectations and all in all it was the perfect get away. Thanks Danny and Nickey for making your home available for others to enjoy.

Everything was terrific. There are no complaints. But, let me add this. You are best served to go in a 4 wheel drive. Our vehicle really struggled to get there....really struggled. Other than that, enjoyed our stay very much. A home away from home.

GET AWAY CHALET IN THE SMOKIES

If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, this is the place to go. We were three mature couples and one dog who traveled to Robinsville to try our skills on "The Tail of The Dragon". For those of you unfamiliar with Tail of the Dragon, it is an 11 mile section of 129 with 318 curves , a motorcycle and sports car enthusiasts fun spot. The " Dragon" is about 20 minutes from the Chalet. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are an hour and a half away. We found this chalet on VRBO and were happy with our choice. The Chalet offers privacy with fantastic views of the Smokies. It's large wrap around deck and covered porch are a great way to view the scenery or if you prefer the indoors, you can enjoy the view while sitting by the fireplace in the living room, with its floor to ceiling windows. During the day you cannot even see your neighbors, they are well hidden in the trees. The home is nicely furnished and kept clean and well cared for. There was an easy check in and check out process with keyless entry into the home. The owners communicated well . In the description it states that the driveway is gravel and steep, and they mean it. The entire road to get to the house is a narrow gravel road going up a mountain, with a speed limit of 11 mph. We always arrived back home before dark because we did not want to venture on the road in the dark. It was very challenging. I would not recommend bringing a car that has been lowered or a motorcycle to the chalet, they will not do well getting to the drivewqy. The kitchen was equiped with the basic utensils, but if you plan on cooking meals here you may want to bring some extras. We had to go out and buy a blender, pitcher, casserole dishes and serving bowls because the chalet did not have them. They do have a drip coffee maker and even had some coffee and creamer there for us to use. The bathrooms were well supplied with shampoo, body soap and conditioner and several hair dryers. If you like to get away from it all when you vacation, this is the place for you. It will be your own private little haven while you are there. Enjoy.

Serene, Secluded, Beautiful

This property is excellent. The view through the floor to ceiling windows gives you no option but to relax and enjoy. The house itself offers plenty of room for together time (group of 8) in the living area and around the big dining table, but provides areas to sit alone and read or just take in the views. We enjoyed playing corn hole and roasting marshmallows at the firepit. We took advantage of the hot tub and enjoyed the foosball and video games in the lower level too. In fact, there wasn't anything there we didn't enjoy. Very welcoming and well equipped for sleeping, eating, and playing. Away from the property, we highly recommend the Joyce Kilmer Forest hike. The ancient trees all along the trail are beautiful! After a hike, take the time to eat at Lynn's Place in Robbinsville. Good food and very friendly hometown people.
