Gravel beach loaded with chiggers/garrapatas. Hundreds of bites, tried to explain to front desk staff to warn off children but got the vacant cow look. Definite hazard to small children. Very nice property otherwise.

The exclusivity was excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. However due to the location of the hotel you could not access any restaurants so you have no choice to dine at the hotel’s which was EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. Breakfast lunch and dinner for two would total $150 US A DAY. Leaving a dining bill of over $759 for the duration of a 5 day stay.

Amazing pool and views. Food was ok. We had our baby and had a stroller, definetely not friendly for that, a lot of stairs and walking with no ramp.

Staff always had a great attitude and always willing to give travelers their best service. The room was beautiful, they added extra small details like a gallon of water, coffee, and a small tub outside with flower petals so you could step inside with clean feet. I loved it.

Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating to all our needs and went above and beyond the call of duty in assisting us with travel arrangements. The facilities were clean and the rooms were lovely! Beautiful lodge with the best views ever! Would definitely recommend staying there and will stay there again upon returning!

The property was very beautiful and our room was excellent. Parts of the resort were under construction. I did not like that cable was not available for the week.

Thank you for your review, we appreciate the comment on our nice property. It seems you are referring to sand-flies on the beach not "chiggers/garrapatas" (ticks) as you wrote, which is possibly why the front desk agent was confused. Unfortunately the sand-flies are a pest in the Caribbean and though we have a daily raking and fumigation program to help diminish these pest, we can never rid them 100%, they are present throughout the islands, not only on our beach. We do apologize for the inconvenience and we recommend all our guests use repellent prior to going out to the beach and an anti-itch cream is always useful if you do get bites, also avoid the beach areas dusk and dawn times which is when they are most apparent.

Thank you for your review and excellent comments on our exclusivity and staff. We do want to note that our menu prices are comparable to other restaurants in the area and in general on Roatan. Our breakfast menu ranges from $5-$15, our lunch menu ranges from $10-$22 and our dinner menu ranges from $10-$32 per dish with at least 20 options to choose from on each menu plus 15% tax and 10% service charge which is charged in all restaurants. Just dinner at a nearby restaurant will cost you a minimum of $75.00 plus tax and service per couple. We do offer shuttle service to nearby restaurants at a $5.00 per person round-trip transfer fee that is available from 6am -10pm daily which is a great option as well as the option to rent a car if you would like to venture out. We not only recommend other restaurants in the area we also help promote them to our guest so that they can enjoy and compare for their own references our service, quality and prices. We do hope you take advantage of this on any future trips to Roatan and we would love to welcome you back to Las Verandas.

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to place your feedback. Unfortunately our village style design is not the best for anyone on wheels, however we have taken this in to consideration for future constructed areas. Sincerely,

Thank you for staying with us during your trip to Roatan. We appreciate the nice comments on our property and we are happy you enjoyed your accommodations. We do apologize for the cable service not being functional during your stay, we are currently upgrading our system with a new provider which encountered some technical difficulties on the way that delayed this process which was not anticipated, so we thank you for your patience. Our new system will have better service and options to better serve our guests.
