This is an ideal spot to stay at if you are driving through. Not too pricey, but clean. The beds were very comfortable. The bath had been recently replaced, but otherwise the room could have used some updating. Our room was facing the river, which was beautiful. The backyard area could also do with some sprucing up. Lots of parking, decent wifi and a nice breakfast. There is no elevator, so ask for main floor if you have heavy bags.
This location is close to the highway and also close to downtown. The outside is nothing fancy. It's actually very plain looking but the cottages on the property look cute, clean and well cared for. We stayed in the corner unit on the second floor (Room 238). It has a shared balcony overlooking the river and it makes for good pictures of sunsets and cloud patterns. I think the room may have been the honeymoon suite with a corner Jacuzzi. The room was very big with a well stocked bathroom. Plenty of towels and a nice clean shower. The bed and pillows were wonderful! If you are looking for a good sleep, this is the room for you. Breakfast was average. The food area is very small and was congested when we were there. We opted to eat elsewhere. The downtown area is pretty and has many shops and restaurants.
My wife and I stayed here for one night on our way from Cape Breton back to Toronto. For us, we were just passing through and were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and quality of the room. The bathroom was impeccably clean, and the bed was really comfortable with clean, new white linens. We did not expect to see such an amazing sunset and view of the river from the back of the hotel, so that was a nice perk. We had a great sleep and enjoyed the simple, continental breakfast that was included. The price point was excellent; great value. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again!
We had a wonderful sleep! Best mattress I have ever slept on! Ask for a room facing the water and not the street.
Great location, nice pool, breakfast good, but room was small and had a musty odor even when airconditioning was on--a drawback of being so close to the water?
Great door access as we were travelling with our pup. This hotel could do better with breakfast items by comparison to other hotels. Many people have food allergies. Food selection is limited.
We stayed at the Days Inn Riviere du Loup on our way home from PEI. The hotel check in time is 4:00 and we arrived shortly after 3:00 and our room had not yet been cleaned...which surprised us since check out time is noon so they had over 3 hours to clean it. Anyways, reception suggested we take a drive around town while we waited to see a bit of the town. Now, we had already drove 9 hours to get there, we probably would have been ok with that. We also had no idea where we would drive as the guy at reception didn't offer any suggestions. Once the room was ready at 4:00 and we got in to shower and change, we felt much better. We asked about suggestions for dinner and the recommendation was to walk across the road to eat at another motel's restaurant. When we asked about other options, we were told the downtown area was not far away. I asked if they had a map and yes they did. In my opinion, if they wanted to improve their service, the map should have been provided right at check in as it was very useful. We used it to get downtown where there are tons of restaurants to choose from and parking was not a problem. The room we had was a double queen bed room facing the St Lawrence river...lovely view. Room was spotless and had more towels than we needed. We used the air conditioner fan to create white noise and had no problem sleeping. The wifi was spotty in our room...kept cutting out as did the TV. The stay included breakfast which was service in a room off the lobby and for a motel breakfast area, I was pretty impressed. The staff cleaned up right after each group came through so it was pretty spotless for the next group. No gourmet choices but the offering was more than adequate for a quick breakfast so we can get on our way again. Given the good sleep we had and the decent breakfast, we would consider this again on our way through next time. If the reception at the beginning was more pro active with information about the area, I would have rated this higher.
Spent two nights in a cabin on the property. Good deal. Had a queen sz bed in a private bedroom. The living/kitchen area had a full size fridge, toaster, kettle, stove, microwave and a Keurig coffee maker. (There were dishes that you could use and wash.) There was a table with chairs and a couch(pull out) and a large flat screen tv. The wifi worked perfectly with no problems. Was impressed with the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. After 10 minutes of checking in, the front desk called to make sure everything was there that we needed and if we had any concerns. Was impressed!! Breakfast staff were pleasant as well. The breakfast room was spotless and food was plentiful. There isn't a bad thing to say about this place. Will be going back for sure!! Soon I hope.
Riviere-du-Loup was the perfect place to stop on our way in and out. This hotel had extra airmiles offered so I booked it. Lovely location, very clean and very, very comfy beds. Place was quiet and the breakfast was perfect selection for us. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Right on the river. If you can, get a room with a river view. Not much food nearby but good restaurant/bar in best western across the street. Great breakfast, very comfortable beds. A bit on the expensive side but they do a great job.
