Stayed the past three nights at Mgallery Hotel Santa Teresa and wish I would not have to leave. From beginning to end this place is amazing. Having worked for Sofitel my expections were high, but are exceeded. All hotel employees do their utmost best to make your stay memorable. Especially the breakfast hostess (sorry, I did not get your name) who is there every morning with the biggest smile and menu recommendations and waiter Arnoldo who makes sure you have plenty of everything you desire. The service at the pool, the view, the cleanliness and the turndown service... At Sofitel they say Life is Magnifique and here it truly is. Daniella, to you and the entire team: Heel erg bedankt! ;)

I have been there with my boyfriend and we had a great time! The Hotel is great, cozy... the restaurant is amazing, great food! The pool and the jacuzzi are surrounded by green, such a great environment. We also had a couple massage in the Hotel Spa, so great... The neighborhood is bucolic, and there is also a restaurant with an amazing view and food close by, called Aprazível (if you go there, go for the starts and drinks).

We traveled as a couple over New Years weekend. Our experience was OK, but definitely not worth the price we paid. The hotel grounds are nice and pretty. However, the service falls short for a hotel that is labeled boutique/5 stars. Here are some examples: (1) We arrived at 8 pm on a Friday and were accompanied to our room by the receptionist. There was a technician leaving the room at the same time and the receptionist had to confirm with the technician whether our room was ready (I wonder if our room would've been ready if we arrived before 8 pm...). (2) After showering on our first night we realized there weren't any bath towels in our room. (3) There wasn't toilet paper in the reception bathroom. (4) For NYE, the hotel offered a van to the subway, but no other alternative was made available. I'd think they would be able to offer other types of transportation (for cost, of course), or at least refer us to a travel agent able to provide these services (I know other hotels in Rio do). Pros: Breakfast was great. No mosquitoes in our bedroom. Pool area is nice.

We know the hotel since many years. Since Sofitel took over, the service even went better and we love this special, intimate place with a Tereze Restaurant, a perfect breakfast, a nice bar with a hugh number of drinks and live music

We stayed here for two nights at the end of October 2017. The hotel has created a very calm and beautiful space accented nicely with a pool and garden. The staff was very helpful particularly the bar. We spent one evening tasting caipirinhas and listening to jazz and really got a flavor of Brazil. The location of the hotel high ion the hill allowed for a great view of the bay. Lastly we hired Renato to drive us around Rio and could not have found a better person. Stay here, you will love it.

Stayed here in November 2017 as a couple. The hotel is beautiful and is set in superb grounds with a lovely pool/bar area. The rooms are spacious and the staff helpful and friendly. We stayed for 6 nights and were given a slightly larger room than booked due to the longevity of our stay. I would highly recommend including breakfast in your booking, the views from Terez restaurant are superb and the food is on a par! It is just a short walk to one of the main squares in Santa Teresa with numerous bars and restaurants and only a 20 minute walk down to Lapa also. Despite what you might read we felt completely safe in Santa Teresa and were happy to walk around both in the day and the evening. Prices are very fair for what they are, but as a UK traveler we benefited from the BRL being at 4.3 when we stayed. Would highly recommend.

Spent a night in the hotel Santa Teresa during our honeymoon in July 2017 and we loved everything about this hotel. The rooms are spacious and quirky, food in the restaurant is delicious, staff is super friendly, and the sunset bar by the pool is a dream after a busy day walking around Rio. Only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

Nice hotel to stay at, nothing pretty special, everything was ordinary but our 5-day stay was made amazing, the hotel has a good location and friendly staffs too. we tried their restaurant and the serving was really good and cheap!

Wanted to check out this Accor proper in Rio de Janeiro that is part of MGallery Collection and is advertised being BY SOFITEL. Made the reservation while waiting for my flight to Rio in Sao Paulo. I had been to the city 20+ times so knew the challenges with hbe Santa Teresa location. Hotel has beautiful grounds but the rooms are total three star dumps and not even worth third what I paid. 1. Water was leaking from the AC making lake inside the room. 2. AC unit was noisy. 3. Linens had holes in them. 4. Bed was uncomfortable. 5. Internet went off several times. 6. Only one free plug inside the room. 7. Phone inside the room was dead. You call this "Luxury"? I call it a dump! Could not get settled folio at the time of checking out because front desk printer was broken or they had technical difficulties. They should close to hotel and reopen once it is ready for business.

I have traveled the world and stayed in many places. Hotel Santa Teresa is one of the most amazing and memorable hotels I have stayed. You can spend a vacation at the hotel. Its garden, the first-class pool, and lounge area are simply one of the best. It's on the top of the hill in Santa Teresa so you get a great view of the neighborhood and Rio. The room is of a good size. Shower is great, and you have orchids in the room. I only wish I could have stayed longer. Plenty of taxi and uber to get to and from the hotel so it's really not a concern. I didn't eat at the hotel but outside in Santa Teresa. I would come back here again. Already recommended to friends
