Big cockroach under our bed, they robbed us at the beach and I had to cancel my credit cards but was not able to make any international call from the hotel which was really disappointing as I was in total despair to block my credit cards. They even charged me for those calls that were only attempted but the calls did not go through.

Well located near beach and numerous commercial establishments, even a park across the street. Very attentive staff. Excellent breakfast. Good accommodations. Comfortable bed.

Hotel Did meet our expectation. Its one block from the beach. Some staff were very good. We didnt get the room we wanted even though we asked for certain type of room. Breakfast was one the feature of this hotel. I would recommend based on price and breakfast.

I think overall was ok - brekfast, location, location. But may be some things must be better - wi-fi at the room must be free, pool on the roof is not clear. The location is safety and close to the beach. All restaurants and bars around are good.

Wi-fi was not free in room, but free in lobby. Good location

From the early check in to great proximity to the beach, to beautiful comfortable room, helpful staff, attractive price, to the late check out granted.....it was a very rewarding experience. I am more than likely going to stay here when next I visit Rio.

We needed a centrally located hotel in Copacabana, and were pleased to see how easily we traveled from the hotel to a variety of sites. Really is just steps to the beach! That being said, the hotel is located on a very busy street, and the noise can be a problem if you leave the windows open. The pool area is pleasant, if a bit small. Great views of Jesus Redemptor, though!

Front desk was not nice. Room was average and not so comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay. We were in Copacabana to watch Tim Maia "Vale Tudo" at the theatre.

The staff at the Mar Palace was wonderful. Most spoke English and gave us tips, made reservations for us, got us cabs and took care of all our needs. We couldnt have asked for more

The location is very good many good restorants around, the hotel very convenient

Good hotel for business travel, front desk staff extremely helpful and efficient. Included breakfast was excellent. Quick walk to the beach, located on Copacabana Ave. business district, very busy area across from a small park. Rooms were large and clean, AC is a wall unit and worked well. Not a luxury hotel but ok for a short stay.

The hotel is about two blocks from Copacabana beach. Just a short walk, and you are on the beach. To see the other attractions of Rio, There is a bus stop across the street. The rooms of the hotel are a nice size, and the bathroom has room to move around. The air conditioning is a window unit for the rooms, and can be set to your desired temperature. On the roof of the hotel you will find a mini bar, gym, and pool. The gym has equipment for cardio and a small machine for strength training. There are no free weights at this gym. The pool is good for sitting relaxing, but is small for swimming. The staff of the hotel is helpful, and they will give you directions on how to see the sights of Rio. The staff at the desk speak both english and portuguese. I would recommend this hotel for someone looking for a place close to the beach without the cost of the hotels on the beach.

We chose this hotel for the Value/Price relation. Nicely placed a few blocks from the beach, restaurants, stores nearby. way cheaper than Leblon or Ipanema.

The location is very Good. Short walk to Copacabana Beach. Good restaurants close by. Good value against hotels in Leblon, Ipanema or the expensive hotels in front of Copacabana Beach. Subway station is very close. The Pizza at the Hotel Restaurant was surprisingly good.

Strong air conditioning ( a plus). Decent roof bar. Only had 1 person at front desk most times, and they did not have the [...]reservation - I had to print it out for them. Much more expensive on location than online - it's a decent stay but you'll want to head to Ipanema as Copa is very touristy.

This is a very decent hotel with a spacious room & nice bathroom. A very friendly staff and the location is fantastic as it is close to the Copacabana beach and other nice restaurants around.

Hotel was average, amenities are fine, staff were helpful. Breakfast are all the same, no variations at all. If you are going back to the hotel late at night, door are closed and you have to knock and wake up the doorman. Couple of blocks from the Metro which is cool. The only hassle was checking out it took us about 30 to 45 minutes just to check out coz thier computer was down. Overall the hotel was not to bad at all.

The hotel is a great location, just a block from the Copacabana Beach. The pool doesn't exsist - it's been without water for a very long time. The patio roof top is nice, but small; so is the exercise room. The rooms were fine - nothing special. The staff is not helpful, and parking a car was difficult initially. If you don't speak Portuguese, it's even more difficult. The breakfast (included) was non-remarkable,but there are great restaurants in the area. The beach is amazing, as is the rest of Rio. The hotel has connections to the most important tourist attractions, and can make reservations. If I return to Rio, I'd choose a different hotel, but I'd want one with the same location advantage and the $ value. Since those were both good, I'd recommend it to a friend, but I'd be very open about the drawbacks

Hotel was fine but I woudn't call it a 4 star hotel. Room was comfortable enough and location is good but it missed something to make it a 4 star hotel.
