Welcome to Walden! A place that combines the beauty of the natural world with the warmth of a modern cabin. Located on 50 acres or protected land along the historic Shenandoah River, Walden offers one of the most spectacular retreats in the valley.

We had an awesome birthday vacation. The house was perfect on private land with beautiful views, and a walking path down to the river. Hiked Old Rag Mountain in Shenandoah National Park on my birthday and hiked a waterfall trail the following day. We enjoyed the hot tub at the end of the day. This is our second stay and just like the first it was perfect . Great place to just listen to the wilderness and take in all the fresh air ! We even got to see the deer’s run across the grass four to be exact ! The walk to the lake is always worth it you can even have lunch down there . Grass is always well kept and cabin is always clean ! They even welcome you with some homemade cookies

The beauty and size of the property was wonderful. It was private except a stretch of riverfront where we never saw anyone except for a friendly dog jumping in for a swim and loud geeese cruising down the river. I especially liked the large horrible on the covered patio. I forgot my swimsuit but that didn't matter.

Walden is always a great place to stay. On our first morning we had a coffee maker that had picked that day to stop functioning. Contacted the host and he came by very quickly with a brand new coffee maker.Beautiful view of the river for a quiet peaceful weekend!
