We stayed in the last week they were open before their closure for winter. Amazing staff, very friendly, lovely views from the dining area. Beautiful views of Turkey and great beach area. Communication pre arrival was great via email and the cocktails were great too. Many thanks

Thouroghly enjoyed our stay at resort with excellent weather, food, friendly staff and cleanliness of resort. Easy access to all pools and beach due to flat nature of rersort. Agean sea warmer than the pools but entry and exit hampered by a pebbled beach. Ok if proper beach shoes worn.Safe bathing and sand once waist deep. Convenient location for Old Rhodes town which is a delight to visit. Taxi varied between 17 and 13 euros fare. Would recomend and well worth RCI gold crown rating.

We went to Sunshine Hotel for 1 week mid October and in general we were pleased with the Hotel. The swimming pools are clean and nice and the kids pool and slides were enjoyed by our girls. It is on the beach and the beach is nice and calm with warm water but make sure you have beach shoes as there are pebbles. The food polarized a lot of people but we enjoyed it. Some could have been warmer and a larger selection of drinks and food but we all enjoyed the food and so long as the kids are not fussy there is always something to eat. The facilities are good and the surroundings are nice. The staff are helpful and the animation team try their best but it was out of main season so maybe not a lot going on. I will say this - the rooms could do with an upgrade. They are 3 star quality not 4 star. They are not bad but in need of some attention to detail. Rooms were cleaned everyday and bed linen changed. All in all - a fine hotel but could do with a few upgrades to make it a proper 4 star hotel. We went out of season in October when the hotel was half closed and there was a nice vibe and not very busy. I imagine that in peak season it is very busy and our experience could have been a lot different - it is a large complex!

4 star is laughable, 2 is much more accurate. Food is very bad and the same thing every day, staff are rude and unhelpful, offered a free massage then where told we had to pay 40 euros, it is very run down and needs updating badly, DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL UNLESS ITS THE PRICE OF A 2 OR 3 STAR HOTEL YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!

So having read a lot of reviews (after we booked ) I was a tad apprehensive but on arrival all were unfounded. People's main complaint was the food ,well im no foodie but it was all fine by me. It was tasty and plenty of it. I agree that the lunch time food was not terribly exciting but most people were there with kids who would never complain about eating pizza and burning it off with a day in one of the pools ! Clean beach towel available every day...sun loungers were very comfortable...I should know cos I spent five of the seven days there laying on one and getting through three books !. Drinks were okay. If your a drinker then there's an abundance of local booze but not the branded stuff we are used too. The ladies and gents behind the bars are extremely friendly...lovely lovely staff throughout the hotel. I don't know if it was because it was so late in the season but there was zero entertainment of an evening and there is really no where to explore after you have walked up the street once or twice. It made the evenings too long for me but that's just my opinion. All in all The Sunshine was in a beautiful setting and my sunrise photos prove that !! Go for it ladies and gents..😊

Terrible, In the middle of nowhere. My fiancé and I set off to ‘The Sunshine’ for a Romantic vacation and a well deserved rest. Upon arrival (late evening 6/10/18) the complex looked really nice. Upon checking in we were informed that we had to pay Greek room tax which had not been mentioned previously. After being given our room key (401) and a map, we left reception and set off on a hike to the room which was uncomfortable after a long flight and the subsequent mayhem at the airport trying to find out our allocated transfer transport. We found our room and eventually opened the I’ll fitting door we entered the room, it looked filthy, there was no water in the cooler that didn’t work and there was no air conditioning despite the room temperature being 29 degrees. I had to walk back to reception and a member of staff found a bottle of warm water, he also informed me that the air con had been shut down throughout the hotel. The next day we discovered that we had a south facing room and after being promised a cooler room, we were left and our pleas ignored. The curtains were hanging off the rail and were dirty and stained, the toilet pan was cracked. The room was infested with cockroaches and scarab dung beetles, and the bottom of the bath resembled the rusting body of the Titanic and only half the shower head worked. Our broken balcony chair was replaced with housekeeping managing to break our travel kettle in the process due to the member of staff with a broken arm struggling with the said chair. After making a complaint nothing was done to rectify these problems. The drinks at the poolside bar were most definitely watered down and the pizza, chicken nuggets, spaghetti bolognese was the same menu was the same everyday at the snack bar. The Mamma Mia restaurant can also be missed without any sad loss. The main restaurant looks nice and is fine if you like to eat pork every day! Over our stay for the week the room was never brushed nor mopped once, you get your bed straightened over (no clean bedding) and you get clean towels each day of varying sizes, it wasn’t much fun getting out of the broken shower in a rusty bath trying to get dried on lethally slippy floors with hand towels!!! We placed a piece of toilet paper on the side of the bath alongside the boot mark a maintenance worker had left, they both remained for the week we were there. On the whole the whole complex is filthy, and the sun loungers were broken and faded not to mention uncomfortable. You will also have to buy your own inflatables and if you are leaving on an evening flight you will have to pay 50€ to keep your room for an extra hour or two. Our advice - Don’t take the risk, photographs in this case are misleading and the staff are apathetic, ohh woe!!!

Stayed here in October 2018 with my lovely mother.Beautiful hotel . Food was brilliant. Lots of Choice . Staff were friendly. Location was amazing right on the beach. Would definately recommend and would definately return. The old town is amazing you can spend the day there shopping eating and drinking. So recommend hotel Sunshine 💯%❤️❤️❤️

My partner and I have just come back from this wonderful hotel and can't wait to go back again. The location is absolutely beautiful. Stunning. Our day would begin with a plentiful breakfast and then we would collect our all inclusive towels at the hut ready for a day of sunbathing on the beautiful beach. The pools are huge, there are lots of sunbeds, the staff are extremely friendly, the food is good quality, it is very very clean and checkout was easy. We left the room at 12 but didn't need to leave until 7pm. It was not a problem to use all the facilities for the day as it is only 2euros for a locker for suitcases and they let you use all the shower facilities in the on-site spa. All inclusive food drink and towels are useable until you leave for the airport. When the time came to leave the receptionist called a taxi for us which arrived in 3 minutes. Only 16 euros and 10 mins to get to the airport, so I would highly recommend this over a shuttle bus. Shops and bars are directly outside the hotel which is extremely convenient! Overall I would give this hotel 11 out of 10 and can't wait to return. Thankyou sunshine hotel for the best holiday ever ❤️☀️❤️

Positives - hotel location perfect staff great rooms cleaned daily. Negatives - FOOD FOOD FOOD!!!!!! It was diabolical we tried breakfast lunch dinner and even al la carte only once little choice bearly warm never mind hot we went all inclusive and ate out every day/night. It's a shame because the hotel location on the beach was perfect although the description of the rooms when booking and the actual rooms were very different but you alway find that It was dated and we have torn curtains I could forgive that it the food wad good. The first 4 or 5 picture's are was I though I was getting the next lot was our actual room with torn curtains and dated bathroom

I stayed here last minute for a week as it was all inclusive. The food was ok for one day but after we avoided eating there for the rest of the week, even though it was fresh there were the same choices everyday for lunch and dinner which gets very boring. The drinks included were also not worth drinking everything tasted watered down with no real flavour. Although the location was perfect to nearby bars and restaurants and the poolside was lovely and clean. Staff were always very friendly and our towels and bedding were changed everyday. I would recommend the stay but for the facilities only.
