Excellent stay, sea view room over looking Turkey ( supplement, worth it, as sun beds on balcony too ) ! Hotel beautiful and spacious, lots of sun beds around the pool, gardens and private spot on beach. Food very good and catered well for gluten allergy. Not a lot outside of the hotel, trip in to Rhodes Town is a must, the old town especially.
We went August 2018 and were surprised how unpacked it was considering school holidays! You could still get a sunbed by the pool at 10am! Amazing reception area, loved the piano bar! Food was great a different variety every night! Everyone very accommodating and friendly! We had an amazing room and view of the sea. Entertainment was good, apart from kids disco there wasn’t much entertainment for kids of an evening but my kids age 7 and 11 enjoyed the adult entertainment just as much! Lovely roof top bar where the entertainment was held! Rhodes town was very nice quaint with lots of lovely restaurants busy but to be expected! We loved it so much we have booked to go again this year and I can’t wait to swim up to the pool bar and have a cocktail!
We went here in July 2018 expecting a brilliant 5star hotel. We feel this is just 4 star at best. Rooms were ok but you had to pay for the mini bar . Can’t fault the view it was great and the food was great. Not impressed with the all inclusive drinks finishing at 11 o clock . Had to pay extra for decent beer and spirits. Went out and about and the beer was cheaper doing that. Would I go again.... maybe but might be cheaper and better going to turkey where it’s ultra all inclusive with free mini bars and you can still get a free bar after midnight specially when you been out on trips at night etc
My wife and i with our now teenage children and future son in law Chose olyimpic palace hotel Rhodes Greece. Such lovely part of Greece the old town is ten mins in taxi 12euro one way Or local buses are frequent as bus stop right outside hotel bus fare was 1.80e The old town takes your breath away very charming and beautiful energy. An abundance of shops and market traders. Restaurants are very clean and welcoming . Being based in Rhodes we ventured out most days to Lindos. And other close by trips so much to do here . Now after 24hrs of settling in and sitting by the pool i found it odd that the wind never stopped . Don't get me wrong its welcoming in the scorching heat. I went and asked the manager he explains That this side of Rhodes always has a breeze of wind. And the other side i.e Lindos. Is always still and calm. There are many attractions to we took glass bottom boat from Rhodes harbour- situated at bottom of Rhodes town lovely Place for day out relax , people watch. Then we took ferry to the small island of Simi please visit look on Google, YouTube. And we went in the chapel where the shrine of arc angel micheal is . Very humbling experience. Oops better get on with the hotel . Okay 5 stars in Greece is like our 4 star but wait. Olympic palace is a true 5 star hotel. Such a lovely hotel and position sea views Roof top bar and seating area . The food excellent fresh different themed cuisine nightly. Hygiene standards spotless . Huge well appointed main restaurant. All of the staff are amazing and very genuine they are happy you have chosen to choose Greece. And not pretending to like George is the one man we really got on with he made our holiday .And made us laugh . The facilities are very good . They have this survival room game , just adjacent to the piano lounge bar . We all went for it as a family .the children saved us as we couldn't see the padlock Under the wooden entrance if it was my wife and i we'd be still there . The piano bar lounge is great any time of day. We played crazy golf that was good fun. Right opposite hotel is the beach which is for guests only we hired jet ski it was 45 euro for 15 minutes for me that was enough as not young anymore. I believe it's well priced for the fun you can have. If you exit outside hotel turn left there is a main road with 20 or so snack bars some restaurants ect and gift shops . It's good to have a walk after lunch or breakfast. All nice bars we found dartboard in one . Life is so fast paced now . We were so glad to spend time as a family unit and re connect , reminded us when children were younger. It's a must . The rooms are very well laid out and suitable our room backed onto a cliff but its fine. I'm not sure what room now are direct sea views . The pools inside and out are very clean. The food is plentiful daily. We chose all inclusive the beer was good and the house red wine very nice. It's a big hotel and the only thing is the lifts get very busy around evening dinner But we took stairs . You will receive a plastic security wristband once you check in. They are a godsend. Our teenage son went into Rhodes town alone one evening.did what teenagers do He can't remember getting back to hotel. But i strongly believe the wristband helped him. And some kind man or taxi driver must have dropped him back to hotel. So if your in need of a relaxing fun holiday With your children or just yourselfs. Go ahead and book its truly an amazing hotel friendly town and a real sense of enjoyment. The Greek locals are very proud of there country when we had to pack for home. We were a slight bit sad to leave we will return again in a few years . Enjoy your stay. Best wishes Sean
Food was great, rooms nice and big. Plenty of sun beds although this was at the end of the season. Being able to get a late breakfast or lunch when on all inclusive at the aqua bar was a nice touch, particularly if you didn’t want the full meal at the restaurant. There is a different menu for the alcohol for all inclusive, which is fairly limited, however what we had was good. There was a beer tapIn the aqua bar for guests on all Inclusive. Drinks at the pool bar were good, cocktails were made fresh and strong!! Drinks at the roof top bar were not quite as good. My only criticism would be that I cracked a tooth whilst there and when I went to reception to ask them about a local dentist, they weren’t too helpful. The guest relation person however was most helpful when she found out, alas for us, it was too late as we change our flights to come home early as I wasn’t sure the tooth would hold. That said we have booked to return in October 2019
This is a really nice hotel, though a 5 star rating is a little generous. The general appearance, inside and out of the hotel, the pool area and grounds is very good. Our room on the 6th floor with a sea view was as good as we have ever had in a holiday resort, though shower was a bit weak. Room was clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped with a huge balcony and fantastic view. Rooms at the back of the hotel look out at a cliff face. Staff are in the main very friendly and helpful. We stayed half board and the food was always plentiful, good quality, cooked well and there was a reasonably good selection. Bars were adequate, roof bar had great views but décor and furnishings need upgrading. The private stretch of beach, once you have navigated the busy main road is pleasant though pebbled for which you will need beach shoes. The resort of Ixia though is awful. A narrow strip built along one side of a busy main road, with nowhere to walk, only a couple of reasonable restaurants and bars, a smattering of junk shops but plenty of cheap sports/music bars. The saving grace was Rhodes Town which was a delight, day or night and easily accessible from the hotel by a short bus or taxi ride. We did a couple of really good day trips to Lindos & Symi island, both well worth a visit. As good as the hotel was we wont be returning to Ixia.
We visited this hotel on 21st October for a week,It was a lovely hotel with great staff, nothing was to much for them,The rooms are beautiful and they were cleaned everyday with fresh bedding daily and towels changed daily.Food was good but missing proper sausages and mushrooms for breakfast.Pool area was nice and clean with nice pools,One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.
This hotel offered a beautiful room with 5 star service, especially when my husband was unwell. This was a fabulous holiday, really relaxing holiday. It has so much to offer, I loved the heated pool, there was table tennis, pool and also mini golf. Car hire can be arranged at the hotel for a reasonable price. Don't miss going to bottom of the island and seeing the Med and Aegean see meeting really spectacular.
I chose Olympic Palace for its location and after reading all the positive comments, well what can I say ?Olympic is the best hotel I have ever been! I visited the hotel at the beginning of October with my mum and we were very impressed from the warm & very welcoming atmosphere that we received from all the staff. Our room was beautifully decorated and had a generous view of the sea. The food was excellent in the dining room and we had been invited for an a la carte meal by our favorite person in the hotel Meltem, the Guest Relations manager who was always helpful and knowledgeable. We both enjoyed talking with her almost every day and we felt sorry that we didn't have the chance to say goodbye to her. We rented a car and travelled all around the island;we both felt that Rhodes is a jewel! Honestly this is an amazing hotel with a faultless staff and Rhodes is a place waiting to be discovered! See you next year and thank you so much for a wonderful stay!
The hotel was modern and spotlessly clean. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Food was great and the waiters were brilliant. The hotel has a private beach . We would recommend this hotel.
