Mitsis Rodos Village Beach Hotel - All Inclusive4.0 out of 5.0

Standard all inclusive hotel. Starting with the positives ... friendly helpful staff, food good with a wide variety of choice and areas to dine in, room clean and of decent size. Cost we got what we paid for, no more! Negatives, sadly of which there are more. Our balcony looked onto a cliff wall with no view whatsoever but provided us with all the smells, noises from the kitchen as compensation. Advice choose a room with a view BUT it's not a cheap extra. Pools were pretty but for sunworshippers a big disappointment with loungers few and far between and sandwiched together on the small patio area. Beach pebbled and a good walk from the hotel. Finally the location is remote and little to see near at hand. Loved Rhodes as a place to visit but next time will go the extra mile for a bit of luxury. One word average.
Was a busy hotel so avoid if you are looking for somthing quite, rooms were very outdated, there is a fridge in room which got refilled every two days (water included). I liked the size of the hotel, there were many different parts. The main buffet restaurant was manic! Breakfast was good, had a wide range, I loved the different themes restaurants, go to them for lunch and dinner (you need to book in advance) crep restaurants right next to the pool which served drinks and cakes etc, was very handy. We didn't need to eat out of the hotel as the choice of food catered to all! Entertainment was good, staff were friendly. Beach is across the road from the hotel and it has it's own section of deck chairs, there is a pizza place on the beach which my partner loved and also a beach bar. Watersports are available on the beach. Beach is a mixture of sand and pebbles, then big pebble in the sea. The pool area was nice but you had to wake up early to get a deck chair which was annoying. Overall a good hotel which has an amazing selection of food, great hotel for families, not so good for couples, but I would recommend.
Personnel at the reception is very unfriendly. For example, we bought internet which didn't work. We mentionned it at the reception many times but they didn't care. Staff in the small restaurants are much more friendly. It's very unconveniant not to be able to book the small restaurants in advance more than 2 per day. Swimming pool are great but very cold, much more than the sea, it would be great to heat them. Building very noisy, the isolation is very bad and we can hear all noise from other rooms.
Having stayed here in 2016 for 4 days (see my other reviews), we took the plunge and stayed for 11 nights this year, from April 26th - May 6th. Again, no faults! We had a room in the same block as before, which had been redecorated and was at the far side of the site - a lovely position, but a walk away from the central areas (although there is another pool closer). Food; lovely, Hospitality; lovely, Room; lovely - what more can I say? We hired a car from the airport - cheap if you book in advance (either through a UK booking site - cheapest, but credit card needed), or direct, as we did with 'George Cars' - more expensive, but ask for 'all in' and no CC needed. It's a long bus journey without a hire vehicle, as the resort is fairly far South. It's also worth having if you want to go 'off-resort', as Kiotari is fairly sparse. (PS> ask for a 'packed lunch' the day before if going off somewhere - basic, but nice, and no extra cost). Be prepared to pay extra for wi-fi in your room & deposit for towels - but that's pretty standard, and this hotel is generally 100% all inclusive, or 'ultra all-inclusive'. The only time you can't get food is between 12 midnight and 7am, but most people can last that long! We have booked for a third year in 2018, so I guess this must be a mighty fine place to stay!
The people and staff at this hotel are the friendliest I have ever experienced. Nothing is too much bother, every need is met, they love the kids. The animation team is so friendly and always visible at the pool side baboo in particular - special mention from your girls :) The pools are a bit chilly, the beach is stones and that's the only possible drawback. The restaurants are great, 7 to chose, towels are provided for £20 deposit, food and drink round the clock. We're vegetarian and gluten free and nothing was too much bother - so much choice. The local shops have lovely little bits in them and the fake sunnies are only 3 euros :)
I would just like to say a big thank you and well done to Alex and the 2017 Animation Team at the Mitsis Rodos Maris Resort and Spa. I visit this Mitsis hotel every year and find the entertainment Team at this resort, professional and 'World Class'. We are in fits of laughter from the start of our holiday until the end of our holiday and the Animation team make our family and children's holiday such a memorable and fun experience. There is something to do for every age group throughout the day, including a Kid's Club, Mini Disco and evening entertainment show that is interactive and full of great performances that will make your holiday one to remember. This year I had 21 of my family at the resort and I look forward to bringing even more of my friends and family to this fantastic hotel in 2018. See you all next year and thank you to each and every one of you.....;) x
We were apprehensive about our arrival to this hotel due to the longest transfer we have ever had in our life..... But when we arrived after midnight the experience started. Staff made us feel at ease and told us to drop our bags and relax, they led us to the restaurant for an unexpected salad and then told us to have a few drinks in the bar..... After a cocktail or five we were taken to our room which was very comfortable.... In the morning we had the full effect... I had called ahead to let them know it was our honeymoon so we had been given a sea view room with wine and a cake amazing... The staff have been amazing all holiday especially the two girls at the indoor pool bar in the day my wife took a liking to them as they were witty and full of fun, Erick the barman in the evening was super fast and made us so many cocktails, the young guy that works in the burger restaurant he was charming and loads of fun..... We would love to come back...
Let me first start by saying if you are looking for pubs, clubs and bars nearby then this is not the resort for you, what you get here is a great resort hotel experience. From the minute we checked in everything worked like clockwork. The check in was painless too. Our room view was towards another balcony, but so what, We were only there to sleep, shower and get changed. This place has everything you need for any length of stay, we had 7 days and wished we had 10. Every single member of staff were always smiling, chatty and very friendly. The restaurant choice is excellent too from main buffet style to burger to Italian and several others, some of them you have to book in advance but that's not any different to back home. The creperie at the main pool and the bar at the upper pool were open every day and the staff there were awesome too, big shout to Ilias and his triple ice cream cones. Rooms were cleaned every day, fresh towels every day too regardless of whether you left them hanging for second use or in the bath to be changed. mini fridge was also a nice touch. I cannot rate this place highly enough from Oviedo and Mike the photographers, to Erick the outstanding barman, all the restaurant staff and lastly but not least Babou and co that kept us entertained all week, what a fantastic bunch, they interacted brilliantly with both kids and adults. It is of no doubt that we will return there again.
Our forth visit to a Mitsis Hotel. Nice room fantastic staff in the main restaurants and all the bars and entertainment team. The cleaning staff were 1st class. You should be proud of what those guys do. The let down for us was the male team on the reception area. Everything we ask them for seemed to be a problem. From giving directions to the bus stop or asking were we picked up our towels to the simple task of can we book one of the other restaurants. We was told to come back later as he was to busy. Went back at the requested time to be told I still haven't had time. . Finally got a answer about 7.30pm when it was to late for us to go. I think they need to go to the other 3 hotels that we have been to to learn how The Mitsis brand works. What upset us the most was I wanted to find out about bringing our grandchildren to stay in one of the pool rooms. Could you tell me how many adults and children can stay in one of the rooms? I dont know you will have to look on line was the answer. No problem we will go back to Crete nexy year. But I love the Mitsis brand and wont be put off.
Absolutely fantastic hospitality all round. The food was superb as was our room which had more space than we needed. The key to a good holiday with young children is feeling they are occupied and ours never got bored. A special thanks to all the staff from the restaurant and the bar for looking after us so well to a big shout out to the animation team for providing not only great fun every night with the entertainment but also taking the time out to chat and make us feel very welcome and providing us with loads of laughs and great memories. It’s a shame only 5 stars can be put on the review. We will absolutely be back again!!! Yamas!!!!!
