Due to personal circumstances I am a bit late on posting my review for La Marquise, but we had such a great time so I still want to share my experience. We stayed at La Marquise as a family of 5 in the adults only section, for my Mum and Dad’s 30th wedding anniversary back in August 2018. There are so many wonderful elements to this hotel.   Food Food is great here, plenty of choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner. We didn’t find anything repetitive. We ate breakfast every morning in the L’Etoile restaurant as we had a black card; it was nice and quiet with lots of choice (buffet style) and very friendly staff. We had lunch most days at the Gondola restaurant where you can get club sandwiches, hot dogs, paninis, pasta and pizza. Again, the staff here were very friendly and the food was lovely. We sometimes had lunch in the Da Vinci restaurant which is buffet style and is more like a dinner. We ate in the Asian and Grill Corners a few times as we enjoyed the food so much. You choose main courses and desserts at these restaurants, but they bring out a mix of starters for the table and we found the food exceptional. We also ate in the French A La Carte and again, the food was very nice. As ever, the staff in all A La Carte’s are so friendly and attentive.   Evening entertainment The entertainment is the best we have ever seen at a 5 star hotel. They had tribute acts like Abba, Jersey Boys, the Drifters, the Supremes, El Divo and 70s Disco Funky Town band. There was also a Greek dancing night which was good fun. The acts were to a very high standard and they got lots of people up dancing. If you don’t like things like that then the hotel also has a singer, pianist or guitarist playing in the Crystal bar which creates a nice relaxing atmosphere.   Animation team Sadly, this is one downfall for the hotel. After being there two weeks we couldn’t tell you who the animation team were as they were not visible enough which is something we’re not used to. There is no water polo on during the day for adults and nothing like a game of darts which is a shame. However, if you’re there to relax then this won’t bother you. The animation team aren’t even around of an evening which we found odd and they all have a day off on a Wednesday. That being said, you’re allowed to play tennis, mini golf, table tennis etc free of charge.   Rooms The rooms are big and spacious and kept clean enough. We found it odd that there were no drinks in the mini fridge, although water is delivered to rooms around 6.30pm of an evening. We’ve always known hotels to stock cans of drinks in the fridges. The TV is also a slight let down, the only English channel we could find was a stock market programme (strange). It obviously didn’t ruin our holiday at all but it would just be nice to be able to put the TV on whilst you’re getting ready for the evening.   Pools The pools are kept clean and we never had a problem securing any sun loungers. Ground floor rooms get two sun loungers on their balconies to pull out in front of the pool. The pools are slightly cold but this was never a problem for us adults. We found Rhodes to be very windy which might be why the pools don’t hot up.   Hotel grounds The hotel grounds are kept exceptionally clean and everything looks lovely.   Special mentions Alkis in Crystal Bar – Alkis was so hardworking throughout our entire stay. He quickly learned our room number and all of our drinks orders. He is also such a friendly and funny guy. We miss him. Kostas in L’Etoile – Kostas is a lovely man who served us at breakfast every morning. He is very attentive and friendly. He taught us lots of words in Greek which was helpful. We miss seeing and speaking with Kostas every morning. We kept returning to the Gondola restaurant not just for the food but also the service we received from staff there. Eleni at Gondola/Crystal bar – Eleni was lovely and very hardworking. Always smiling and always happy to svre you. Maria at Gondola – Maria is also very hardworking and very lovely. Georgia at Gondola – Georgia was great. So hardworking and it was always nice to see her, very lovely person. Stavros, Captain at Gondola – Stavros was an excellent Captain. Very helpful and friendly. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. We have never returned to the same hotel before but we all agreed we will definitely visit the La Marquise again as it is just exceptional. Thank you for an amazing holiday we will always remember. The Brown family :)

Wow, where can I start! Everything from start to finish was amazing, and we both said was the best holiday. It was perfect in every way, everything we wanted from a hotel was here. The grounds, staff, food and decor was to a very high standard. Even though it is a large complex, due to its layout, you didn’t feel like a number. The staff stand out as they are so kind and genuine. The food was amazing, and we usually like to eat out a few nights. There was no need at this hotel. Every day I was there, I loved just soaking up the views and beauty of the resort. It has some very unusual plush decor touches. We had an upgrade to the adults only section and absolutely loved sunbathing so near to the room. We were amazed when we walked in the room, they were huge. These rooms are bigger than the other rooms though, I believe. We felt like we had been ur own suite. I cannot understand anyone saying anything negative about the hotel. We cannot wait to return.

We spent 7 days in this hotel, service was very good, great food and drink choices. The days we stayed was quite rainy, but hotel's team was very helpful and we had a good time. Nice pool for kids and play area, animators was very friendly with our 2yrs boy. We had a room in the main building, the biggest minus was that our room was above kitchen/dinning room and I could hear trailers in the early morning hours being pushed. But I'm a light sleeper so it might be my problem. We loved pools in main area and on the top, beach was clean but rocky.

This hotel was recommended & I am so thankful ,really deserving of five stars. The rooms are nice & roomy & are kept lovely & clean the hotel grounds are beautiful. The food excellent always fresh always refilled. The staff are very pleasant & friendly & work so hard & I mean all of them .it's a very busy hotel & still the standard is kept very high,I have seen the odd moan about the reception staff I found them lovely & very helpful I think maybe it's the way they are spoken to so if you want an excellent holiday this is the place to go.. we're going back again this year.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. The room was nice and spacious with a balcony overlooking the pool. We used the pool only at the end of the day for some extra swimming. We came to relax and their beach facility offered everything we needed: from good solid beach beds with thick mattresses, umbrellas and a nice cafeteria. Service was excellent on the beach and in the hotel. We normally do not book half board, as we like to try out different restaurants, but the package deal (2nd week October) was so great, that we decided to go for it. We were pleasantly surprised with the variety of the buffet and the quality of the food. Different themes, but always some nice fresh fish or prawns, plenty to choose from! Breakfast also good, only coffee could be better. In the night they have some entertainment, which for us was a mixed bag. On our last day we could use a private room at the Spa to shower and change, which was very convenient. Friendly personnel, good service. Overall highly recommended!

Due to my parents raving about what a nice hotel this was. I decided to book this for my husband and me. Booking directly with the hotel saved us some money and we had one of the bungalows with pool. The room was beautiful and very spacious. The pool area too was lovely and clean with nice private sun loungers. Only gripe about the room was the coffee pods supplied are only espresso and I love my coffee! We ate in all the restaurants and the food was very good. If you’re more about quantity then the buffet restaurant has plenty of choice to fill your boots. However, do try the other restaurants as the food is delicious. The staff here cannot do enough for you and do everything possible to cater to all of your needs. The shining star of this place is Nickos. What a fabulous man he was. He really did go to great lengths to ensure everyone had a great time. How he manages to do such long hours and be so happy is beyond me. If you read this Nickos... thank you for making our holiday the best! Paulinus at the adult bar was great too but when talking about bar staff, Anastasia topped the bill. No matter how fussy you are, this girl sorts it out for you. The only negative I can genuinely say was the fact that all inclusive doesn’t mean all inclusive. Any wine ordered in restaurants is added to your bill. Syrups that you would put in shorts such as gin also came with an extra charge and should you want an ice cream by the pool, you’d pay for that too. However, I will book this hotel again and will return to enjoy what was a truly relaxing holiday and just what the doctor ordered.

Very poor sound insulation Bad electric system, too many switches impossible to turn on lights. Main supply stalled many times Broken armchair Very noisy lockers... They produce 72 dB. No good Wifi In breakfast olive oil did not taste like olive oil.... Friendly personel... When I complained about the bed sheets being dirty.... (l was afraid that possible not changed) they changed

We have stayed at a few luxury resorts in our time (including a Tui Sensatori in Mexico) but this has to be the first time a hotel has delivered above our expectations. Before we even arrived the hotel impressed me. I had emailed to let them know it was my wife's Birthday while I was away and they promptly emailed me back to let me know what I could arrange in advance (which ended up being a cake and sparkling wine). We stayed in a junior suite with pool view and terrace in the adult's area. It was lovely and relaxed (although bare in mind we were not in school holidays and towards the end of season). Food There is a main buffet restaurant (The Da Vinci) plus other a la carte restaurants you can also book to eat at (I would say book these on your first day as they do get full up). Although we mainly ate at the other restaurants in the evening, we were impressed by the buffet restaurant when we ate there. There was always a good and varied selection of meats, fish and salads and they always had a carvery station serving. The waiting staff were always quick and friendly. The desserts were also good. In most places we have been they always look amazing, but taste a bit bland. Here they looked and tasted good (although there was a good fruit selection as well). We loved the L’ Etoile A-La-Carte restaurant it was the most friendly and welcoming we went to. It's worth considering their lobster night (even though it's an extra €45 - €50 per person supplement). Staff The majority of staff here are really friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have a great holiday. Despite us arriving near the end of the season, they were still smiling. Special mentions should go to Christos, George and Eleni (L’ Etoile), Sevasti, Kostas F, Nikos and Manolis (Azzurro Pool Bar) who became my Greek tutor during our stay! Reception was a little hit and miss however. Some people were helpful, however, the person who booked our restaurants seemed a little indifferent, and then actually got our booking wrong one night (although the restaurant manager did a fantastic job of still finding us a table). There was also an incident where I asked someone on reception to book a parasailing trip for us, which he refused to do saying the hotel didn't endorse those trips (despite the fact I had picked up the leaflet in the hotel!). Entertainment This was some of the best we have seen with "Il Divo" and "The Drifters" being stand out acts. Lot's of places claim to have "west end" quality, but this was the first time we really felt the performances lived up to such a claim. Even the traditional Greek dancing (which we have seen many times before) was good and got people up and out of their seats. Spa This was, unfortunately, the only let down on the whole holiday. We always look forward to a relaxing massage and spa on holiday. We booked a Turkish Haman, and while the treatment itself was OK, the actual facilities were quite basic and unclean (both shower cubicles my wife and I were shown to after our treatments had a used pair of spa pants lying on floor or over the tap!). After our treatments, there was nowhere to relax, nor were we offered any drink and we were taken back out to the indoor pool area (which they had failed to mention allowed children in from 10am to 2pm). The jacuzzi barely bubbled (I could have created more bubbles!) and as for the haman, I have created more steam in my bathroom. When I raised this issue to the spa staff I was told that someone had probably left the door open (not the case as I checked the room later as well). The sauna is OK, but a weird two door system means it doesn't keep its heat for long. To top this off, there was a knock at the door and the husband of one of the occupants was outside fully dressed and wearing outside shoes. On leaving the sauna we noticed he had trodden mud all around the pool. Again we raised this as an issue to the spa staff who told us it was the hotel's fault as they couldn't control who came into the spa! Based on this experience, we cancelled the second massage we had booked. The spa lady was very apologetic, but we didn't think the quality justified the price and it felt more like the local swimming baths than a luxury spa. Overall, though, we loved the hotel and location and would definitely consider staying here again. A couple of notes to management, please make an iron available as the ironing service you offer is quite expensive. We actually went out and bought an iron as it worked out cheaper! Very impressed you offer recycling facilities, but please add glass to your collection points and replace the plastic straws you use for drinks with paper ones.

A very good and very nice hotel. Staff is doing their utmost. Food at buffed is ok. Lot of activities which can be done. Walk to the beach is nice. Few recommendations: - Provided tennis rackets are really bad. Not really able to play normal game of tennis. - Coffee is not good. Although proper coffee machine is available in bar. Only instant coffee is provided. - refilling ketchup and mayonnaise bottles is not very hygienes and looks cheap... But as mentioned a very convenient hotel. Worthwhile to come back.

We have just returned from a week at La Marquise. We had read the rave reviews of this hotel and thought "No hotel can be that good!" BUT IT WAS We are well travelled and have stayed in all kind of hotels but this was special. We are both in our eighties and I walk with a crutch and the service we received was outstanding. We were greeted in the restaurant on our first morning by Nicos. He made sure that we were seated near to the servery and this continued throughout the holiday. I must mention the buggy boys. They were great, always cheerful and by the second day did not need to be told our room number. We were in the adult section near to the pool bar which makes wonderful milk shakes! The coffee ad brandy was quite good too. Altogether a memorable week, Great food, great service, beautiful gardens cleanliness faultless, and all the staff so friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend.
