Great stay at the Amathus end of June for 10 days. Very clean and staff couldn't be more helpful. We requested a quiet room after reading reviews and they did not fail us. Lovely room with loads of clothes space something we are not used to! Room cleaned every day with fresh towels every day too, something that is important to us when we're away. Food was amazing, loads of choice and always fresh and piping hot. The kitchen staff were well presented and clean and they took pride in keeping the food areas clean and topped up. The meet and greet girls were so pleasant and welcoming every day. They ended up knowing where we liked to sit and were more than happy to oblige. Special shout out to Michael Raftis working the lower pool bar who kept my husband and friends husband topped up with beer and snacks! Overall the best holiday we've had and would highly recommend.
Stayed here first week of July for 7 days. Hotel lovely and clean. Gardens and pools all clean and well maintained. Very warm weather as had a heat wave so air con did struggle a bit but not to bad. Hotel staff were really nice and well presented . So friendly and could not do enough for us . Food was amazing and plenty of choice to pick from . Rooms a good size and had a mountain view. Pool service was brilliant and the staff worked so hard even when there is a heat wave of 40 degrees. My pool service award goes to VICKY she was so friendly and worked so hard and nothing was to much trouble . I told her I would have employed any time as She works so hard 6 days a week . Well done VICKY ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ would I stay here again YES YES YES
We have just spent 2 weeks here and have found it very relaxing with some excellent staff - especially in the restaurant and pool area. The all inclusive option has been very good - food is good, fresh and plentiful, with a good selection to choose from at breakfast lunch and dinner. Having bottled water available by the pool (and bars and restaurants) has been great - saving carrying heavy bottles fron the shops and keeping us hydrated in the very hot sunshine. The wine and cocktails included have also been fine. The main restaurant outside terrace tables are worth waiting a few minutes for, as are the balcony tables in the bar. As mentioned before the restaurant greeting staff are lovely and make going into dinner a pleasure. There is a small adults only pool which is great if you don't want the hustle and noise of the 2 larger family oriented pools, and seashore areas looked lovely. This hotel was getting very busy as we were leaving, so getting the pool beds and dining tables may become more difficult. Our room was kept spotlessly clean with a very comfy bed and good quality towels. The only issues were that the full length mirror on the wardrobe door was inaccessible due to the restricted opening of the wardrobe and the small shower cubicle was made even more restrictive by the strange placement of the taps. One major issue has been the poor internet access - good in public areas, unreliable in our 4th floor room.
We have just been for our second visit, all is good including the room, pools, staff courtesy, food, drinks. Only have one niggle and that us the dress code for the evening dinner. Men are asked to wear trousers, no problem but there is no dress code for women. That means that some women are wearing smart clothes but some are wearing cut-offs, so if there is a dress code it ought to be equal.
Room is of a 3* hotel standard, and only just making that grade; The room (9th floor) are basic; the bathroom is very dated with damaged fittings; Twin beds pulled together to make a double, but they don't lock together and the hotel staff could not bring themselves to provide a double throw instead of the 2 singles they had provided! Hotel facilities is of a 4* standard; Great to have a gym, sauna available, with entertainment staff offering a range free exercise classes throughout the day. The staff around the pool and dining areas were great, and the food varied and enjoyable. I found it impossible to get a list of the activities the hotel offers before I travelled there, but I've attached a copy to this review for anyone else who is interested. Evening dress code for men is a little unfair as they have to wear long trousers, but the women are allowed to come in shorts or general beach wear. I'd suggest they change this this to allow tailored shorts - for all sexes. Location; Easy to get to Old Rhodes town, but I suggest to get a taxi - 12Euros there and 9Euros back. The hotel is by the beach, but its a very pebbly beach, not the sort to go for a casual barefoot walk on the shoreline. Also very pebbly to get in and out of the water (lots of foot 'Ow!' moments) Overall a relaxing hotel to stay at, with lovely and attentive staff, but there's really not much to do other than lie by the pool, join in some of the exercises. Not my usual holiday but great to switch off from the world for a few days.
Very nice and beautiful place, friendly and helpful staff, clean and cozy rooms, good and healthy food with a great variety. Although not a small hotel, all facilities have been arranged in such way that regardless where you are it is never crowded! We were keep on wondering where are all these people hiding 😉 Highly recommended (and I'm a spoiled traveler 😉)
First of all, thanks to all of the staff who made sure we were always enjoying our time. Everyone is really kind, a special thanks to Evagelia and Dimitra for always making sure we had a table outside with a view on the sea. The animation team made our stay even better, a HUGE thanks to Seida, Monika, Bence and Julia and a big applause to them! We loved that there was a lot of activities to do and meet other great people :) The whole hotel looks amazing, lots of spaces all around, the private beach is very nice and so are all the pools. Even if there's a road nearby, the trees reduced the noise and we could barely hear it, which is nice to relax. The food was always on top of my expectations, so also thanks to the chefs in the kitchens. I will recommend 100% to go there and I hope I will come back in the near future, Sincerely, Alexia.
It is a very nice hotel, a good variety of food is provided (we did all-inclusive), you have to walk down some flights of stairs to get to the beach via an under-pass. We stayed in a 'Bungalow' which we thought from booking it online/the floorplan that it had a room upstairs and a room downstairs as we were travelling with our 2 children who were sharing a room, but when we arrived the upstairs & downstairs were totally separate & they were going to put us different sides of the swimming pool in separate buildings! after we complained that we were a family & wanted to be together they put us both upstairs in rooms next to each other. The other annoying thing was even though we were all inclusive we had to sign for every drink we had including bottles of water and certain drinks on the menu were not included! We did get to have an Al a Carte menu once whilst we stayed which was a delicious 5 course meal. Staff were friendly and chatty. Rooms were air conditioned and clean and spacious.
I am currently led on a sunbed enjoying the very last day of what has been a tremendous week . This is our second time at amathus beach and hopefully won't be the last. Our parents joined us on this trip and were in awe of the service and facilities they recieved. My self and my husband are amazed at how many of the staff recognised us from last year. It made us feel quite special and also tge fact we had a few little extras for being repeat guests. We arrived to a lovely fruit basket and bottle of sparkling rose with a welcome back card from the management. We also had a turn down service every night with a chocolate on the pillow. We found these to be lovely touches . The restaurant and bar staff could not do enough to please you and quickly knew where you like to sit, and what drinks you take. EVERY single member of staff are the utmost professionals at all times. It's fair to say that the food selection and quality is outstanding. I've never seen my father in law eat so much and mother in law is very cautious with what she eats but enjoyed every meal she ate. This is really a great testament to the hotel. The only thing she could say was that there were no Yorkshire puds when they had beef (we did laugh at her). Once again we are leaving feeling like we have had a holiday. Thank you so much Amathus for helping to create fabulous memories.
This hotel is first class in all they do for me and my partner this was are third visit and will be back again very soon. All the staff from the girls around the pool to waitresses at the restaurant are a credit to this place and a special mention goes to socratis in the restaurant by far one of the nicest guys you could ask to meet. One and only downside is having to wear long pants in the restaurant at night as I feel smart shorts would be fine but in all a great hotel see you next time.
