Just what i needed for a short stay, staff were super helpful and friendly, short distance to old town and the beach and loads of restaurants and bits nearby. Breakfast was super basic, but i already knew it would be, and it tasted good

I stayed at this hotel for 13 nights in June and, unfortunately, I wouldn’t choose to come back. I was given a room without a terrace, which turned out to be very noisy due to a café directly below. Most nights, loud and intoxicated guests were outside until 3 or 4 in the morning, making it difficult to sleep. Upon arrival, I was surprised to find that many basic amenities came at an extra cost: eggs and fruit for breakfast (€4/day), air conditioning (€6/day), a safe (€3/day), and additional room cleaning (€8/day). This gave the impression that the hotel is more focused on charging for every little thing than making guests feel welcome. The breakfast was extremely basic—slices of ham and cheese, butter, and jam or honey—served the same way every single day. No variety at all, which became quite monotonous over a nearly two-week stay. Although they promise room cleaning and towel/sheet changes 3–4 times per week, during my entire stay they only changed towels and sheets twice. Thankfully, I had booked the room for two people but stayed alone, so I was able to manage somehow. The staff were generally polite and the location is quite good, but overall the hotel doesn’t feel like a relaxing holiday destination. The atmosphere was rather depressing, possibly due to minimal staffing and an overall sense of cost-cutting. This place might be okay for a weekend stay if you're not too particular, but for a longer holiday, I wouldn’t recommend it.

It was good overall, good and friendly service. bed was a bit uncomfortable also there was no plugs near the bed to charge the phone, and the wifi on the tv wouldn’t work.

Definitely worth a visit if in Rhodes Town

This was one of the nicest rooms we have ever had in Greece. Very clean and comfortable. The guy at reception was so friendly and helpful, and the "basic" breakfast was more than basic, it was lovely. Highly recommended.

Our booking was confirmed and paid for, when we arrived the manager said we could not leave our bags and if we did he would not be responsible although it clearly states baggage storage available. On returning at 3pm to book in we were asked how long we were staying for and said we had booked for one night. The manager then told us our booking had been changed to another hotel by Expedia which was untrue as we checked with Expedia. He told us we were booking into another hotel '5 minutes away' no apology or explanation. When we arrived at the Africa Hotel the manager said our booking had been made the previous night. Why were we not informed, why didn't the manager notify us on the morning we arrived and why not give a truthful reason for our move? The staff at the Africa Hotel were very welcoming and apologetic although it was not their fault, however the room was very small and basic and not one we would have chosen. Previous reviews has stated that the staff at the New York were friendly and helpful and this was far from the truth in our case

Rhodes town stop over

Fell upon this excellent hotel by chance for a one night stop over in Rhodes town. The host was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Under Covid restrictions this was managed perfectly despite limited staff and hotel opening. Would recommend a visit!

I stayed here for 2 weeks in September /October, and the hotel was very basic. I was in Room 206, I did not have a balcony, it was a very small room with 2 single beds which were like a wallpaper paste board! Breakfast was poor too, and I only went down 2or 3 times for it.

The room was new, and clean. No complaints about it at all. The breakfast could be so much better, if there were just a little more selection. It was very basic. The service was not the best. My husband had to ask three different times, from three different people before he was able to get an extra pillow.

Nice hotel. Right in the centre of town and 5/10 minutes walk from most parts of the town. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The room was quite basic but clean and has everything you need. The breakfast was just some breads and a cereal so not much variety. Overall a good hotel for the price.

Negatives - Quite disappointing. Rooms are not like the photos. Old furniture. Rooms are not cleaned daily. Our room was cleaned with change of towels on our fourth day. Cleaner took away the air conditioning remote because we left it on throughout the day whilst we were out. She also kept the balcony sliding door open. The shower cubicle has only half glass so our bathroom had puddles daily after showering. All hairdryers were out of service. No amenities. Some plugs were not working so charging all our gadgets wasn't simple. Our door had a dodgy lock. Poor breakfast. Positives - Good location. Friendly staff who tried to accommodate us as much as possible. Modern bathroom and strong toilet flush. Comfortable beds. Great WiFi strength. The rooms are air-conditioned. Lift service for those staying on upper floors.
