Stayed during September for 2 weeks self catering. Our room was an upper floor studio in block 4 with excellent views of the bay, mountains and Pefkos. It was clean and reasonably well maintained. The air conditioning unit appeared to be relatively new, although we didn’t have the air con as there was reasonably air flow through the studio with the ventilated balcony door shutter down and the small side window open. We were advised the cost of the air con was 10 euros per day. A safe was provided in the room for 10 euros per week. The studio was cleaned daily, except Sunday,to a satisfactory standard. Towels would be changed when required if left in the bathtub. There were a few occasions where the clean towels we received had visible brown stains, although were changed the following day. Clean sheets were provided twice weekly. Staff: Generally the facilities were managed by Yannis and his brother Dimitri who dealt with customer queries and worked the bar. They were both characters and in particular Yannis who often joined us and our friends in conversation when he wasn’t busy. Pablo the cook made some lovely food from the menu provided. Location: Close to the centre of Pefkos where there are a few mini markets and several lovely restaurants and bars. Beaches were about a 20 minute stroll away. Pool: Large pool and small kids pool with plenty of comfy padded loungers available, never had to be up early to get loungers. Generally we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay with friends and family. Although the studios and apartments are a bit dated, everything worked in the one we were allocated and given the location of the Marianthi we found it to be very good value for money and would stay again. It’s also noteworthy that a number of other guests we spoke to had stayed before.
Arrived there late in the evening, the guy there just moaned at us for making him wait up. We stayed in a studio which had a lovely view but that was the only good thing about it, the bedding was dirty, beds rock hard, hardly any cutlery ( one cup was a mini eggs one you get free with an Easter egg) the fridge was filthy and noisy. We didn’t have any running water one day and as we had been at the beach all day we needed a shower but were told that we would have to wait until the morning, so we couldn’t even go out for our dinner, no apologies just a shrug of shoulders. On the day of our departure there was no one around to even hand the keys to.Maybe we should have left them with the cats that were constantly wondering into the room.

When I booked these apartments I knew they were basic and yes for the money we paid were exactly what I expected. However I booked this holiday with Thomas cook last August booking a one bed apartment as myself and my husband were treating our 21 year old daughter to her last family holiday , when we arrived at 22.00 after a long day travelling all we wanted to do was drop our bags and head out for a meal , we were greeted by yanis who cheerfully told us we were in a studio I said no we had booked an apartment and was getting my paperwork out to show him he said no need I know what you have booked we only have studio it has 3 beds what more do you want? After a bit of an exchange and getting no where we decided to just take studio and sort it out in the morning I rang Thomas cook first thing and many more times in the day each time being promised a return call none came I spoke to Dimitri when he arrived at 11 told no apartment I had a rubbish day Finally rep arrived at 5 pm Sarah she was fantastic and to cut along story short she got us into an apartment at 11 pm that night . I can’t praise her enough I do feel we lost a whole day of our holiday and also never made to feel welcome after that as I said the apartment was as I expected but had very little crockery we had 2 pint glasses and 1 bowl in a room meant for 4 people ?? I have never stayed anywhere that does not provide toilet paper also towels and sheets stained The view from our room was fantastic pool really good I could have overlooked the few negatives if only we had been given the room we paid for on arrival
So when the squeeze asked if we should go back to Pefkos this year, I said yes, and she trawled the websites and came up with a good deal on this place. We arrived at around 21.00 and given our key, and escorted to our room. There was 3 beds, which we then pushed 2 together, and a bathroom. Down one side was a wardrobe, next to this was the kitchenette area, then a table, and finally a dressing table. We turned 2 of the kitchenette draws into storage for small stuff and unpacked into the double wardrobe. Plenty of room and hangers. There was a kettle and toaster in the cupboard next to the fridge. Sorted!. The beds were firm but comfy. The linen crisp and fresh. It was an over bath shower, but nowhere to have the shower going without holding it, but still a good shower nevertheless. Toilet situation the norm for Greece. Our balcony over looked the bay. A short walk to the supermarket for fresh bread and other vital shopping. We didn't find it very noisy as has been suggested by other reviewers, other than a couple of drunk couples one night, but not too far from the activities either. The cleaner visited every day bar Sunday, and the guys at the pool bar were excellent every day. The pool is big enough to cater for a lot of people now that they have upgraded the sunloungers. The room itself could've done with a little more storage space, maybe some cupboards or draws in the bathroom, but other than that no complaints. Will definitely look at staying here again in the future!
After reading some of these reviews I was a little worried however we had a fabulous holiday. Yes the rooms are basic but for the money you pay it isn't going to be 5 star. The appartments are very clean as is the pool and bar area. Greg is lovely and very helpful and the hotels in a fabulous location. For the price we paid I would definitely return.
My partner and myself booked Marianthi studios purely on the price we got, When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Greg who was very friendly and showed us to our room it had amazing views across the bay,The room was clean and was cleaned on a regular basis,We booked self catering and the room was equipped with everything we needed, The pool is enormous compared to bigger hotels in pefkos but was never overcrowded we loved Marianthi studios so much we booked again for 2019 not long after we returned.
Well I was hoping after reading mixed reviews that my holiday accommodation at the Marianthi was going to be acceptable but no such luck....Pefkos is an amazing place with plenty of bars and restaurants and supermarkets and the sea view from the Marianthi is spectacular. However the interior of the studios are abominable.Although they were very dated that doesn’t matter it was the lack of facilities and the dilapidated and dirty place to live in for the week, the worst place I’ve ever holidayed in.This was the list of self catering items we had.1 cereal bowl 3 odd cups 2 glasses 3 small and 3 large plates.(3 of us in the studio)A frying pan and a huge casserole pan plus a kettle. Now we could have asked for anything else we needed but honestly we didn’t really want to cook so didn’t bother.Just saying what crockery and pans there was.The bathroom was very poorly tiled with sharp edges left exposed. No sink plugs in kitchen or bathroom. No lock on bathroom door no ventilation in bathroom and the window didn’t open...No hook for the shower head so you had to hold it whilst showering. The patio doors to balcony had one with glass but the other one had no glass no screen fabric just an empty door. But the worst of all was the filthy fridge. It had no retaining bars in the door so nothing could be placed in the door, and it was rusty and needs going to the skip.Apparently we should have put our towels on the floor for changing but as we were given no advise regarding this our towels were never changed all week even though we put them in the bathroom showing the dirty side. The outside of these studios look lovely and indeed it’s position cannot be faulted but you really do have to slum it for your holiday ............I did wonder if my studio was an isolated one in need of renovation (number21) but after speaking to other guests I realised that wasn’t so.I shall be writing to Thomas Cook as this is really too poor to be included in their brochure.Fabulous pool though
Studios are old very basic and need updating urgently. Would not stay here again. Greg who runs the attached pool and bar and oversees the apartment is a good guy but as regards the apartments his hands are tied. The owners need to invest heavily. Thomas cook should not be sending customers here yet they still do,says a lot!!
We stayed in a studio, which was very dated. Bed sheets and towels although changed regularly were stained, fridge was dirty and marked. Pool area was clean and tidy. Greg was helpful on the first day but didn't even both to look up when we left. There was noise from both the Rock bar and eclipse bar, but once door was shut we couldn't here it.Pefkos is a lovely place but would not stay at these studios again
