Booked independently as stayed for three weeks in October. Easy to do so from their website, on bed and breakfast basis with the return airport transfer included. The air-conditioning, safe, bottle of wine, sweets, dressing gowns and slippers were also included. All the staff on the premises are friendly and helpful. The whole complex is beautifully clean and maintained. Our room in block L top floor had a fabulous view and was very comfortable. Breakfast had a lot of choice, but would have preferred the eggs / pancakes /omelettes cooked fresh by the chef. Did not eat in the restaurant in the evening as there are so many good traditional restaurants in Pefkos and Lindos. Our fourth stay in Pefkos and first at Island Blue, would definitely stay here again and nowhere else.
Have just returned home from a fabulous holiday here and already wondering when I can stay here again! The pros Lovely, helpful staff across the whole site Delicious food, really enjoyed the buffet style breakfast and dinner - every evening has a different theme so always a good variety. Greek night was great fun! Room was excellent, huge room and bed, balcony overlooking one of the pools Short walk to the beach which is quite narrow but long and not overcrowded Cons Going in the October half term had good/not so good things: Busy enough to make new friends, quiet enough to never worry about sun beds etc Trips were either not running or were cancelled last minute due to low numbers Shops and restaurants were closing for end of season so less choice if you want to eat out. Strange feeling when you watch restaurants being closed and fenced off. Overall, a fantastic place to stay. Came home feeling relaxed and prepared for the winter ahead.
The Island Blue complex has been a favourite of muy Daughter and family for some years now. This year we joined them and were blown away at how lovely the place is. The staff were amazing and it was obviously a place for Weddings and we saw many stunning Brides setting off on their journey. It is perfect for families and yet it is not overly noisy or distracting but we were there in May which was half term. No late-night disturbances thank goodness yet there was plenty of entertainment if you wanted it. The food was really good. There was a choice of pools and it is close to the beach and the village so plenty going on if you wanted it. Pefkos beach a short walk down some steps is a good sandy beach. Not suitable for people with disabilities. There is access to a shop and a lovely Spa and hairdresser. All in all OUTSANDING!!!.
Absolutely love this hotel. Visited many times and never fails. Lovely spacious rooms, comfy bed, good fridge and nice bathroom. The whole of the hotel estate is well maintained and kept extremely clean. There are 2 pools (although one is split in 2), effectively making 3 and 2 bars. One serves food during the day, the other only drinks. You can also use the 3 pools and bars at the sister apartments. We went B&B and the breakfast choice and quality was excellent, I'm really not sure what else you could possibly want. If I wanted to be picky and this is really extreme maybe a couple more cereal choices would be good. One obvious benefit this year was that guests from Lindia Thallasa had breakfast at their own hotel and it was noticeably easier to get a table, for which we were very grateful. Only other observation to make was that the large new cooking station didn't add anything to the breakfast experience.
This was an excellent choice in Pefkos had stayed at the lovely Lindos Mare last visit to Rhodes but decided to try Island Blue in Pefkos for a change but thinking it would be hard to find something comparative. Once there it didn’t feel too big being shared with Pefki and Lindia this may have been because it was October but overall it didn’t feel busy or noisy being part of a complex of three. Check-in was easy and very helpful reception staff. Room was in J Block opposite the little church which was quieter as not directly opposite the pool area, it was spacious with lots of storage space and a good bathroom in fact pretty good for Greek standards and cleaned well each day. Breakfast was excellent and a relaxing experience with good service, great coffee, lovely fresh bread and a good choice of food available, only suggestion would be to cover the food due to flies etc, the man making the eggs was excellent and would make a perfect fresh egg for you. The spa was very good and not bad value we had a couple’s massage which was very nice. Location was perfect a short walk into Pefkos but close to the lovely beach which I think could get very busy but not quite so late in the season. Only negative was the poor Wifi which you have to constantly log onto but for 95% of our stay we couldn’t get it to work, only really wanted it to download emails and search a few local restaurants and villages. Recommend this hotel if you want a decent base to stay in Pefkos it would be hard to beat, however I recommend hiring a car from Rodos cars otherwise you will miss the lovely mountain/Greek villages and all that the island of Rhodes has to offer.
We stayed in a horrible little hotel next door in 2018 and I looked around island blue and decided there and then to book. This hotel exceeded all of my expectation totally beautiful, clean and catered on every level and the service and staff were fantastic. Special mention to Maria who made sure we could be served first on a departure date so the children could eat before we got picked up. The food was beautiful the rooms were beautiful the cleaners were fantastic truly amazing week. THANK YOU
We've stayed at Island Blue on a number of occasions and chose here for the celebration of our 10 year wedding anniversary. We were delighted with our fabulously spacious suite with a sea view and sunny balcony. From our experience you can't go far wrong with the Ionnidis group of hotels (Pefki Island, Lindia Thalassa and Island Blue) which are all on the same complex and you can broadly share facilities. However, we noticed some small changes which we thought were not necessarily for the better this year. The super-comfy and large sunbeds at Elia Restaurant (the adult-only pool area) - which made it a real attraction for us - have been replaced with some more perfunctory plastic / metal sun loungers and some 4-poster beds which were nether enticing nor comfy. Also, since our last visit two years ago, Elia restaurant no longer serves lunch, which we'd been looking forward to as this used to be fantastic quality and great value. The staff there at the restaurant during the day are great, but under-utilised as there is no lunch service and very few people seemed to be around the pool (even though the pool was a good temperature for this time of year). Breakfast was a busy and unfortunately waspy affair. There is a wide variety of products on offer, but it would be useful to keep as much food as possible covered up due to the inevitable flying pests. For a resort of this calibre, it would also have been a good touch to have been offered fresh coffee, rather than having to accept the stuff that comes out of the coffee machines. We used the other facilities in the resort and enjoyed the spa and swim-up pool bar (making the most of happy hour) at Helios pool bar. The food there however was pricey for the quality/quantity. We paid 7€ for what was a very small Greek salad in comparison to others we'd had in and around Pefkos. Just to be clear, none of these things would stop us booking in this well located and well maintained resort again. We appreciate that these are niggles rather than show-stoppers; but as fans, we just hope that these are not part of a trend.
With a sad heart I have to give honest feedback about changes . We have stayed in this group of resorts for the last 12 years. Island blue three times. This year I noted issues with cleanliness immediately. The room and bathroom has now seen better days as seveal years old.An example shower areas cracked tiles.Old disscoloured grout.Taps have rusted. Chrome fittings rusted. Mirror edges blackend. The state of the bathroom door handles and vanity sink unit was horrible. One day when the sun was shining in you could clearly see lots of footprints covering the mdf headboard.I had to buy cleaning wipes for draw tops and dressing table as discusting. Hairs and dirt. I ate breakfast twice.Unclean tables. One morning I found a big long black hair on the serving spoon in the buffett food.Yuck. Bar area furniture are now past best ,scratched frayed and need replacing.Once comfy adult sunbeds changed to standard sunbeds. Staff LOVELY but honestly seem to be under staffed and pushed to do more work which is reflected in reduced standards. The English lady on reception did not ask if we enjoyed our stay.Honestly she can't raise a smile.Greek staff lovely. Sam at the bar is only happy when chatting to single females.
Our fourth visit to Island Blue and still think the hotel is a fantastic place to stay. Very disappointed with the new layout in the Restaurant, much prefer a la cart menu to the new buffet style. Also disappointed in the idea of a different theme every night ( Italian, Mexican Chinese, etc. etc.) The staff are great and all work very hard to make guests comfortable and very welcome. It's a shame the pool table has been moved to the pool bar, it's in quite a state and the space around it is very limited. Two minor issues but all in all the Island Blue is our first choice and hopefully we will return again and again.
Not one thing I can fault this hotel on from the minute we arrived it was a complete pleasure, friendly staff, spotless apartment, food fantastic and a very peaceful setting would definitely recommend and would go back tomorrow if I could.
