We were very disappointed in this hotel, room we had was very dated and was definitely not the 5 star they give themselves or the 4 star Jet2.com stated. It was nearly impossible to get a sunbed, there was not enough for the amount of people staying although in our second week, some brand new ones appeared after complaints. The food was repetitive and usually only warm. We ended up going to a lovely restaurant on the Main Street where we noticed quite a few others from our hotel. We were told there was an adult only pool, this turned out to be the jacuzzi!! The only good thing they had were the pizzas, delicious. Entertainment was a joke. Would not recommend this place.
Stayed here early october , paid for a superior room via jet 2 , little bit dissapointed , room was ok , nothing special , bathroom was the smallest we have ever had , nice view from the balcony . Food generaly ok , breakfast fine , just had pizza for lunch , struggled on the evening to find something we liked , ate out a couple of times . Pretty low key on the night times , glad it was only a short walk into town , cant comment on the entertainment , not our cup of tea . Pretty crowded around the pool , usual suspects up at the crack of dawn reserving the best ones , entertainment around was the usual fare , darts etc , would come back to the area , but not back to this hotel , the food for us was the biggest let down
I wouldn’t rate this as the 5 star hotel status it’s been given, food in the restaurant is very German orientated, get to breakfast early or your left with scraps, the grill restaurant upstairs is great nice Gyros and burgers the pizza corner is also good, we ended up at the restaurant in the high street at least twice as the main restaurant food gets a bit boring after a while, the alcoholic cocktails are very strong, on arrival you have 2 small bottles of drinking water in the fridge that are not replaced strange for an all inclusive, so we brought large pack from supermarket up the road, entertainment is very loud and can be heard no matter where you are on the complex goes on till 1am some nights, the complex is clean and the staff are amazingly helpful and friendly. Be warned if your check out time is early and your transfer is later your all inclusive privileges end as soon as you check out, we paid 40 euros to keep our room longer well worth the money, The Lydia Maris is a pleasant hotel with hardworking staff.
The best holiday ever!!! Everything here is so perfect! We have had such an amazing stay and are sad to be leaving 😫 Always such amazing weather and never a struggle to get a bed by the pool! The entertainment was great, something new every night and Natasha has so much energy and so nice, immediately became friends! Thanks so much Lydia Maria for such an amazing holiday, hopefully see you again!
From reviews and photos we were expecting a lovely hotel. Arrived at 11.30pm nice greeting and taken to room and then on to the Grill for food. The Slovakia, gyros and burgers in this restaurant were very nice. As was the pizza. The main restaurant and food was ok. Luke warm apart from the soup. Plenty of choice for the German holidaymakers. British palette not the same. Although they had themed nights most of the food was the same. Very disappointed not to see Kleftiko and beef stiffado on the menu and only once was there moussaka. Most of the dishes were covered in some sauce with no description. Desserts were amazing as my waist line shows. Drinks, after three gin and tonics I gave up as it tasted like paint stripper. Beer gassy and German not the local Mythos. We only spent one night in the hotel out of 7. That night we went back to our room and watched a film on the iPad. After that we went to Memories sports and cocktail bar every night. Very welcoming place and proper drinks. The animation team tried but did get fed up hearing songs in German .Evening entertainment we didn’t bother with.Staff were very pleasant apart from the restaurant manager. He eventually decided to say hello to us on our last but one night. We had watched him march about the restaurant and shout and throw his arms about at the staff on many occasions. On our last night he shouted at a young waitress in front of the restaurant. If he had a problem with her he should have been more professional and spoke to her out the back. The spa voucher was nice free 15minutes but tried to push for extras also asking us a round the pool. Also the sun bed situation. By 9am sun beds covered in towels. We were out there at 10am one morning and only a handful actually had people on them. Then our last day the two next to us with towels didn’t have the two ladies lay on them to 3pm. They need to sort this out because I imagine in peak season it be a nightmare. Overall not a bad holiday. Definitely not 5 star possibly 3. Definitely would not return.
This is a 3 star hotel masquerading as a 5 star (though rated 4 star by Jet2). The bad: 1. Poor quality rooms with noisy mini-fridge (had to switch off each night) and noisy air con (even hear the next rooms when on. 2. After first bottles of water left in mini-fridge free, additional have to be paid for even on all-inclusive. 3. Luke warm food in main restaurant even when bought out fresh from Kitchen. 4. Evening entertainment lowest quality we have ever seen. 5. Sunbeds - most round the pool on top of each other and reserved early. 6. If you checkout as required by 12 and you are not flying out til later they will cut-off your all-inclusive band and refuse yo any food, drinks only. The good: 1. The staff - generally very good. 2. Pizzas - fresh and very good. Overall - this hotel is not a 5 star and does not match 5 star hotel standards.
We had a very enjoyable time. Food varied and plentiful. Dining Room staff friendly and attentive.Tsambika at the reception was super helpful and took the time to chat about the area and advise on must see sights. The rooms were clean and fresh towels supplied daily. Location is ideal for a relaxing holiday but still within walking distance of the town. The bathroom could have done with a freshen up as the shower door leaked and the toiletries were not replaced daily. But these are minor issues which don't take away from a lovely experience. I was surprised to have to pay for water at the bar when all the alcoholic drinks were inclusive.
A review on our hotel the Lydia Maris On our arrival we were filled with glee There was wine in our room and fruit on a plate We could still get gyros even though it was late The staff and the food were so fantastic The shows amazing - dancing, bit of slapstick We did have a storm, it was a bit of a shame But they weren't to fault, they weren't to blame So we spent a day at the bar having drinks - what a ball The measures from Nikos are never ever small The animation team are the best we've ever seen Delighting those round the pool in their vests, hi-vis green. I've never had such good food at an all inc buffet When we first tasted it we both screamed 'hurray!' All the staff made our holiday great Our next trip to Lydia Maris - we cannot wait!
Arrived home 10th October 2019 after two Wonderfull weeks there . The hotel is clean , well maintained , near shops restaurants if needed but food all lovely but be prepared to pay for drinking water which we found unusual for all inclusive !!! . Changed our room ammediatly on arrival as first room unsuitable for disabled . All staff from reception to waiters ,barmen ,cleaners ,and are best friends and hard working animation who all went out of there way to interact and dance like Michael Jackson lol it was so much fun and we laughed all holiday ,thank you you know who you are !! I loved the aqua every day . Unfortunately we were there in the storm which flooded our room and the swimming pool was a total contaminated no swim area but not the fault of the hotel as nature can not be on controlled and the clean up was all very well done and they worked hard and yes I agree with Andy B the staff and owner where devistated . A special love and thanks to Nicos who went up over and beyond to help me I'll miss you and thank you so much you made my holiday and meals so easy . We would go here again as we had a fantastic holiday .couldnt keep away from the best pizza ever 🍕😍
So we arrived early hours of the 6th of October! Staff took our cases immediately and would not allow any assistance even when carrying 4 cases at once. We have been here through the storm of the 24hr down pour and thunderstorm and staff was incredible with how they reacted to this. Although the pool took the brunt of the damage, which the devastation can be seen on all of the staffs faces including the OWNER of the hotel, they have made every possible effort to still make this holiday perfect. This has also made us more aware of the beautiful area surrounding us by giving us more reason to explore what is around us. We have a young child with us and staff have made every possible effort to interact and communicate with said child. Cleaners have done a spectacular job with the room every single day even after the storm left it a mess. We have found this so far such a comforting, warming family holiday and would definitely stay here again! 100% worth the 5 star rating!
