We stayed at Blue Roses for 10 nights in August 2018. The apartments are in a good location in Ixia, right next to a bus stop for the airport bus and the bus to Rhodes Old Town with plenty of bars and resturants nearby. The room itself was basic - two single beds on wheels pushed together (not a double as advertised), a small dirty kitchen area and a bathroom with the world's smallest shower. The towels were changed daily but the apartment wasn't cleaned and the bedding was only chanhed once during our entire stay. We stayed in room 5 on the ground floor and could hear every noise in reception - the apartments are very noisy at all-times of the day and night and the road running along the front of our room was always busy. We enquired about air conditioning during our stay and were told it was an extra €8 a day...this seems a little steep for a small apartment room however with the heat we caved in after a week and got it - it worked great but was expensive! We used a local pool bar right on the beach called Akti Ixia - it is across the main road at the end of the shopping centre building...a little hidden gem!! Theo the owner was always very friendly and helpful with any questions we had however I feel the cleanliness and noise of the apartments let him down. I would recommend this area Ixia/Rhodes however shop around and spend an extra £50 to get a better quality of apartment.
Good points...good shower and comfortable bed. Bad points...not much parking, slow wifi, cleaning not done properly dirty sheets put on bed, just had a general dirty feel about it in the bathroom and on the hob. Toilet needs to be flushed gently and slowly as otherwise it will spend hours filling up which is noisy. Super noise main road. Reception only cover for 3 hours a day and if your lucky someone will be on there. You can hear every bit of noise within the apartments especially doors slamming.Basically you get what you pay for.
My boyfriend and i just had a week here..very clean..maid in every day and very thorough..theo the owner is a lovely friendly guy and was very helpful with all we asked..we like to go different places but would definitely return here highly recommended.
We unfortunately were never able to stay due to flight problems and personal issues. We hope to go next year and Theo, the director proved to be extremely understanding and accommodating regarding our necessity to change our dates. In this day and age, it is wonderful to deal with people as understanding and honest as this. With regards to the establishment, I think that the comments speak for themselves. This is why we intend to go back next year, Inka Ernst from Paris
I booked this hotel based on the reviews only. It was my first visit in Rhodes so "I shot in the dark". We arrived late about midnight but we found the place very easy, just around the corner after the buss stop and the owner was waiting for us.The room we had was the perfect room considering its cleanliness, size, comfortable beds for the price we paid. The room has all facilities to be advertised as a studio apt - there was a kitchen corner, dinning table, all necessary. The room was half in the basement floor as the terrain of the garden was steep, so it was keeping it cool and we didn't need a/c during the night. There was an access to the garden where we had a set of table and chairs as well. As the place doesn't offer food, there are many restaurants on the road and a supermarket about 10 min walk. The location is very close to the main road where are the bars, traffic and the night life, but being on a side road, keeps Blue Roses very quiet as well. We stayed in Blue Roses in Sept 2015, however I missed to put my review on time.
I just stayed one night visiting Rhodes for a wedding, the amenities were decent and the premises clean. However there was noone there to show me the room except a polite cleaning lady (who was complaining to me about other guests being unclean). Thus noone ever gave me the air conditioning remote control and i had to endure a day without since i could not contact anyone to help me. On the next day the owner woke me up early so he could collect the money, (pretty annoying) but he was very apologetic about the mistake with the remote and helped me find out how to get a bus on time for the airport. Overall although cheap and clean i wasn't happy with the service. Oh and in the booking i wasn't informed the room was a basement, surpriiise!
Blue Roses was a great find. Firstly, it was very reasonably priced. Secondly, it was very easy to get to. And when I got there, I was very pleased with what I found - a surprisingly spacious, beautifully clean room including bathroom, fully equipped (albeit small) kitchenette, air conditioning, free WiFi connection and helpful staff. I got some great advice about where to go and how to approach my unfortunately brief stay in Rhodes. The location is very good - it is right on the bus route between the airport and Rhodes Town, with a flat walk between the hotel and the bus stop (great after you've been hauling luggage around the steps and cobbles of gorgeous Greece for three weeks). There are three restaurants and two supermarkets (one small, one a couple of minutes further away but full-sized) within about five minutes' walk (Mama's restaurant was wonderful!). Fantastic value for money - highly recommended.
My mum and sister stayed here and thought it was great. They good take in the rays on the balcony and just relax or go 200m down the road to a beach taverna through a little shopping centre that had a pool and served you drinks on the sunbeds. You don't need a pool in the hotel for a great time. Wifi was good but no TV. Who needs a TV on holiday anyway? Theo, the owner was very pleasant and always helpful. The rooms were cleaned every day and Hippocampus Taverna just over the road served food and drinks all day. We were a wedding party spread over two hotels and my mum who is 94 years old and my sister couldn't fault this hotel.
stayed here 3 times now, views from balcony are lovely and peaceful, rooms are spotless, good Wi-Fi, close to bars and supermarket, theo who runs it is very polite and a nice man, hippocampus bar is over the road on the corner, very cheap for what you get, maid is lovely!! balconies are a sun trap!! Cant ask for more!! Thanks Theo!!!
