Just home from a weeks stay at the Akti and I’m already booked for October 2020! We booked via TUI for First Choice in December and the hotel was recommended by the travel agency for having high reviews and lots of bookings so we went with it! Excellent flight and coach transfer was easy - roughly 20 minutes from the airport with 5 drops along the way. Upon arrival at the Akti, we were greeted by well presented reception staff who got us booked in promptly (don’t forget you have to pay tax on arrival - €4 per room per night). We asked for 2 key cards for the room which wasn’t an issue. We were directed where to go and our luggage would follow via the bellboy. We were on the 6th floor. Rooms are plenty adequate for 2/3 people. Modern light room with twin beds, tea / coffee making facilities, mini bar (free), large dressing table, 2 double wardrobes, safe (free), balcony with table & 2 chairs, towel drying rack, large bathroom with walk in shower, hairdryer, body lotion, conditioner and shower gel provided. The room was cleaned every day with the towels changed. Mini bar restocked every afternoon. We had a part land / sea view. Upon arrival we received a voucher for a free 15 minute massage in the spa which was a nice touch. The main restaurant - open for breakfast, lunch & dinner (smart / casual wear preferred at dinner - no swim or beach wear at any time). Excellent choice of food at all three meal times. There’s an Italian and Chinese section, extensive salad bar, loads of hot dishes to choose from, bread station, show cooking and a huge dessert section. We sat on the terrace for most meals. At lunch and dinner your are given a glass of water and offered red or white wine. Other drinks are self service which isn’t an issue as lots of stations dotted around. All the staff are very attentive and look after you. Pool bar (snail pool) - excellent service. Inside and outside seating options. Alcohol, beer, soft drinks, tea & coffee served here. Table service for drinks or get your own. Hot and cold food provided from 9am through till 6am (all night dining). We often had breakfast here as lot less busy. It’s adjacent to the snail pool so easy to get to if you want a drink while on the sun lounger. Pool bar (main pool) - excellent again. More often than not you have to get your own drinks at this bar, not a problem. Lots of tables inside as well as out. Situated next to the entertainment area / stage. Range of hot and cold food as well as desserts. The pizza here is absolutely delicious. Express bar (main lobby) - excellent service. Range of drinks available as well as some hot food as well as cake. Main bar - table service with excellent staff. Lots of tables inside as well as a terrace which was always packed in the evening. Some entertainment here so does get busy. This is a drinks only place. Four themed restaurants - we only tried the Red Elephant which is Asian food. There were multiple courses so don’t eat before going. Table service. You have to book 24 hours in advance at main reception to go to these. There are two seating options. The Spa - lovely staff. Situated on the lower ground floor. We took up the offer of the free 15 minute massage. Excellent! I had a face massage and my partner had lower back. They have a steam room, sauna, tropical shower and indoor pool which is free to use. You have to fill out a form on your first visit which they keep for the duration of your holiday. Pool / beach towel hire is available for €10 refundable deposit from the spa. You can change for clean towels during your stay. Supermarket - located opposite the spa. Good choice of items such as food, gifts, toys, pool items & cigarettes. Bit more expensive than the shops outside of the hotel. Pools - extremely well maintained. Open to guests from 10am until 6pm. Life guards on duty. We opted to use the snail pool as you were left alone by the entertainment team. Lots of sun beds available. I preferred the wooden ones but the others were popular. A few people we noticed were reserving beds from 6am onwards. Same people every day to get the same beds. We never had an issue getting a sun bed. One group often reserved 12 beds but sometimes never used them as they would opt to go beach instead. Maybe there should be a “no reservation of beds” rule?. We never found the pools cold. Maintenance guys were actively keeping the pool areas clean and tidy throughout the day. Beach - well kept. No life guard. Bar available with sandwiches and soft drinks (no alcohol). Lots of sun beds free to use. It’s mainly pebbles but once in the sea it’s sand. The underpass from the pool area to the beach is fantastic as the main road can be busy. Miscellaneous - plenty of activities going on. So this hotel has something for everyone. Certain lifts go to certain floors which is brilliant as there’s 9 floors! Bus stop outside hotel goes directly to Rhodes itself. The old & new city is a must. Lots of shops, bars and history. Just keep an eye out for the African ladies trying to get money from you. All in all an absolutely fantastic place. We never heard anything negative from anyone. Can’t wait for next year!
We stayed at the hotel late September into October. On arrival we were greeted and suitcases taken to our room. From day one the staff were wonderful and helpful, the restaurant staff were very proactive and alert to all the guests, the bar staff were none stop taking orders and memorising everyone’s favourite tipple and made everyone feel welcome. The rooms were cleaned every day and the mini bar refreshed with juices, wine and beer. Thank you to the entertainment staff for all their energy and friendly hellos each day. Swimming pools were lovely and clean, sun beds plenty of them, although the wooden ones are a tad hard. Towels for the pool and beach can be loaned from the spa, the beach is accessed through a underground tunnel. Bus stop to Rhodes outside the hotel, €1.80, we took the red speedboat to Lindos for €70 and arrived there in 1 hour, beautiful beach at Lindos. Final thank you to the Spa team at the hotel and special thanks to Diana for all her helpful local knowledge x
We returned last week after spending a week at this hotel. Staff were very friendly food was outstanding drinks great! The rooms were a little on the small side if there are three of you but for two it was fine. We opted for the front sea view and I would recommend this if possible. The mini bar was filled daily and the cleaners did a good job. We didn't try the speciality restaurants as we were more than happy with food in the main restaurant and at Olivers. The choices were many and varied and if you can't find something you like here you must be very hard to please! Staff in the main restaurant very efficient and drinks were plentiful. Entertainment was ok but we preferred Olivers which had a few good bands on while we were there. The staff really enjoyed their work lots of singing and dancing going on creating a really good atmosphere. Always plenty of sunbeds available - I don't know if this was down to the time of year but I did notice that the wooden ones were being left every day re previous reviews. The hotel is handy for the taxi rank opposite and the tour company ManosGoing is just along the road and have very reasonably priced trips. all in all a great relaxing break and I wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel
Have just returned after a weeks stay at the Akti. Hotel is clean and modern, we paid extra for a panoramic sea view room (well worth it as the sunsets are gorgeous!). Room was comfortable but on the small side - would be a squeeze if someone was sleeping on the sofa bed! Food was to a good standard, didn’t try any of the speciality restaurants but the buffet was plentiful and always something to find. Little disappointed with the drinks - cocktails from pre-mixed bottles, but they did lovely iced coffees and also premium brand spirits if you asked for them. Pool areas were kept spotless, enjoyed going down to the beach aswell. Restaurants and bars in walking distance and only 8 euro in a taxi into Rhodes old town. All in all a great holiday and Rhodes is a fantastic destination.
Have recently returned from a two week break and overall it was a fantastic experience with just a few areas for improvement. Rooms are lovely, very clean, minibar restocked daily. Would say that the room we were allocated was not really large enough for three adults and the third bed was quite hard. The quality of food on offer was very impressive. On a couple of occasions things in the main restaurant could have been slightly warmer (especially the pancakes which are batch cooked in advance), and sometimes the carved meat could have been better quality, but overall it was very good. There is always a great choice of salad, vegetables, fish, pizza, pasta and fruit. We didn’t try any of the speciality restaurants as the set menu idea didn’t appeal to us, think they are missing a trick here and could really improve these to make this a stand out hotel. Selection of drinks is good, lots of branded spirits and a good cocktail list. Staff are always on hand so it’s never hard to get a drink. Areas for improvement include upgrading the sun beds, they are not comfortable and not what you would expect in a five star hotel. The beds on the beach also need toppers as some of the other hotel further along have. Entertainment is also hit and miss. The in house team are really friendly and enthusiastic but some of the evening shows were pretty awful, especially the Michael Jackson tribute. Some of the live music at the Oliver’s bar was the best we saw and deserved to be on the main stage. Would also be nice to be able to get hot chocolate in the evening in all of the bars not just the express bar. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. They are so friendly and helpful and make this feel like a smaller hotel than it is. Peter in the restaurant outside eating area was always lovely and had drinks ready for us before even asking. Dukas in the Jolly bar at night was great and remembered our drinks orders. The girls in the main lobby bar were lovely, especially Smaro and Fenia. Dimitiris and Anastasia in the restaurant were great and very on the ball! We were there when there was a medical incident and we were very impressed with how the staff reacted. Rhodes town is lovely and would definitely recommend visiting. Would suggest going early before it gets really busy. Overall a lovely experience and we would love to return!
Hats off the the General Managers of this amazing hotel!!! It's huge, and always immaculately clean. It smells gorgeous when you walk in, and is very impressive. I have never ever stayed in a hotel where the food is so fantastic!!! We only ate out once, as we didn't want to miss the food. Every night was different, and couldn't have been more delicious... The food was never ending all day long, and after three days we needed to stop ourselves or we would be rolling home... One can never starve in this hotel. Fantastic!!!!! The Animation team were fantastic and worked so hard and were a pleasure to talk to. They didn't hassle you, and were always lovely to chat to, and put on great shows and kept us very entertained. All the staff were so friendly and always went the extra mile to chat and talk to you. Funny enough, the only two staff that I found totally pointless were the two that were meant to greet you when you walked into dinner and breakfast, they never smiled and just stood there and nodded????? Totally pointless, either have some one there to smile and acknowledge you, or save your money! The rooms were perfectly adequate, with a cute little balcony, but very comfortable and clean. My only niggle is the sunbeds, they were sooooo uncomfortable, they had a big gap in the middle, so you either had to slip right down in them to avoid your bum going through the whole and ending up with bum and back ache. The other beds were ok, but a lot of the rubber was coming off so they would constantly keep collapsing. The location was great, 5 mins in a taxi to Rhodes town, approx. 10 euro. We would definitely come back to this hotel as we loved it. For us it was just the perfect 9 days. You can see the hotel is well run as all the staff are so happy, (except the two statues outside the restaurant)! So well done to the Management team. BTW shopping in Rhodes town is amazing, Zara, Stradvarius, pull and Bear, etc all a lot cheaper than London, so go out with an empty case and enjoy!!!!
I must say what a wonderful break. The food at this hotel is similar to cruise standard and the choice is second to none. The staff whether it's restaurants or bars is fantastic. Never have to wait. The hotel is absolutely spotless, and the workers are so friendly. The drinks are very good. If I had to pick any faults I would say the wine could be stronger and the main bar could have more ambience. I feel it's too light and could have reduced height on the roof and maybe put a few TVs in to create atmosphere. That's me being picky. The rooms were very nice but small. I will be back. Senior managers - first class always making sure everything was in order.
Just back from a fantastic week at this Hotel. It was outstanding. The staff, the rooms, all communal areas both inside and out were kept spotless, the choice of food and resturants on site were fantastic. We went All Inclusive - first hotel I have been too that they replace what you use in mini bar for free. There was food and drink available twenty four seven. Staff were outstanding, would definately reccomend and can't wait to go back.
When you read 5 star hotel you expect high standard hotel. But its exactly the oposit. We reserved 3 rooms, 1 with 3 pax the other two are double. Rooms are very very very small. Before arrival i contacted the hotel to check option for upgrade to sea view with charge, they told me it 30 euro per night and i can decide at the reception and pay. We arrived to the hotel, the receptionest told us that we have to pay 150 euro for the upgrade however i told her on the phone that we will think about it. They gave us regular room. The room is not ready for 3 people. Only for 2 persons. You cannot walk in the room. No place to put your things. When i asked for option to split the room into twoo rooms the reception told me that i have to pay another 130 euro per night. But i already paid 460$ per person for the triple room. Why i have to pay another 1e0 euro?? They are crazy. Not proffesional, if you already know your rooms are that small tell the people. The most dissapoonting thing is the elevators. For each two floors you have only 2 elevators. 1 of them already two days not working. We had to wait almost 30 minutes to get in the elevator. And when we finally succeed to get in, its very noisy and not safe. The dinning room is huge. Open buffet, but not tasty. After the feedback i read, now i know that feedback is not enough. Its the worst vacation i've ever had. Not reccommended at all
Just had 1 week at the Akti Imperial and wish it had been more. Staff very friendly, polite and helpful. A good choise of food in the main restaurant as well as smaller bars to eat in as well, and an all night bar for late arrivals to get food and drinks. Pool area always clean and rooms serviced every day along with a mini bar top up. There is poolside entertainment every day and evening and plenty of activities to take part in if you wish, no pressure at all. There is quieter areas if you just want to relax and be left to yourself. The entertainment team work so hard all day and night and always had a smile. I would definately recommend this hotel
