Geo Hotel Grindavik

Small rooms but very nice. Staff was great! Breakfast was good.

This is a great hotel we found on orbitz as we were looking for a one night stay closer to airport. Most of the hotels in the city were pretty expensive so we decided to give Geo Hotel a try and we did not regretted our decision at all. This hotel is very close to Blue lagoon and airport so it worked out great on first night in Iceland as we could go directly to hotel after we landed in the morning, take some rest and then head out to blue lagoon in the afternoon. Also, the hotel staff was extremely helpful when we called the hotel for early checkin. We had landed in iceland early in morning and got out of the airport earlier than we expected so we called hotel to see if they can give us early checkin. The staff member looked up our reservation and called us back and assured us they will get the room ready as soon as their cleaning crew arrives and later on they actually called us back (within an hour) when the room was ready. Upon checking in they offered us breakfast as well which normally does not happen in most of the hotels in US :). Overall this was a truly professional customer service. Something we appreciated a lot since we didn't had a place to go from morning till afternoon in a new country. Hotel itself is a nice decent hotel with all the upgraded decor. They have good breakfast, tea and coffee options and some good tea/coffee/snacks the entire day.

Hotel was simple but very clean and comfortable. Staff was very accommodating since we arrived very late.

Very basic and small rooms, but have everything you need, and very clean. All 3 staff I dealt with were extremely pleasant and helpful. Super easy and fast check in. Not a luxury or resort hotel, but if you want decent place to sleep and get clean, for a nice price, it’s highly recommended.

The hotel staff is very friendly and the room clean and comfortable. There is a grocery store next door which is convenient. Very nice breakfast too.

Good experience at the hotel. Good breakfast. Hotel lobby area had a great sitting area. Coffee and tea in the lobby all day. Most impressive was the hospitality. Very helpful staff. Highly recommend the hotel.

First time in Iceland, and it won't be the last. Lovely hotel, outside of the main hubs. Lovely evenings that were quiet, so you were able to relax after a whole day or two of driving. Delightful breakfast - reminded me of home in Poland, with all the spreads, cheeses and breads. Staff were lovely and attentive, and the rooms were clean and felt spacious enough for 2 people.

The room was very small and I wasn't expecting a twin bed. It also wasn't clear upon booking that they don't have a restaurant. However they do serve breakfast and there are several restaurants in walking distance and the staff was very attentive and helpful for excursion planning, including giving maps.

I loved my stay at Geo Hotel. They were friendly, helpful, and totally knowledgeable! Not only did they have a cute hotel that serves breakfast, they also had shuttle service! they also suggested awesome things to do that saved my partner and I tons of money! If I ever want to stay near the south west side of the Island, I am definitely booking with them again. Thank you for the amazing stay and I look forward to staying with you guys again!

wonderful stay, super comfortable, great hikes and exploration of fishing village. super friendly staff who picked me up at the airport at the last minute and facilitated my stay while there.

Great hotel. Clean. Friendly, helpful staff. However, most tours start in Reykjavik and the public transportation from Grindavik is limited. Very close to the Blue Lagoon.

As far as I can tell this is probably the worst hotel in Iceland. TV wasn't tuned or working until I had someone come in (on gameday: iceland vs france). The bathroom shower flooded the whole room and got clothes and electronics wet. Took an hour and multiple attempts to have it addressed. They wouldn't move us to a new room so we stood in water for hours until we mopped it all up. We mopped up so much water the man on duty could hardly lift the bag to take them away. The windows are so dirty you can hardly see out of them. Internet was 1mbps down and 800kbps up so trying to use that was useless. This place should be closed down. I am going to blog more about this place as time allows. No one should experience what we did. I am so sorry to my travel companions that this was our last night in Iceland and I was the one that booked it. THEY REFUSED A REFUND AND BLAMED ORBITZ!?

Hardly any place for 2 persons to stand up. The room was quiet and clean but tooo small for two persons
