Great place to stay in a fun part of the city. Walkable to great shops, restaurants and attractions.

This hotel is called center hotel for a reason. It was in the center of it all. I was able to walk short distance to almost everything I planned on seeing. The rooms weren't anything fancy but definitely a great comfort zone. Enough space for 2 people to be ok even though I was alone. Shower space was small but the water power made up. The staff was great. Very friendly, patient and helpful.

Good experience. Hotel staff was helpful. Great location! Breakfast was very good and wait staff was very cleaning. I would recommend to a friend.

There were lots of restaurants nearby with lots of variety as to the type of food and cost. We walked to Harpa concert hall and walked back from the iconic 'high' church. This hotel is not a 'standard' pick-up point; the Stop #4 was just a couple minutes walk away. Reservation Desk personnel were very helpful. We would return to this hotel.

Staff was always helpful booking excursions. Loved the coffee stand with nuts & M&Ms on our floor. Very relaxing atmosphere. We will return.

Had the basics . No conditioner or shampoo so bring it ! The rooms are freezing so bring extra layers ! The hot water smells weird like sulfur and it made the whole room smell . The bathroom is really tiny and they don’t change your bed covers. It had the bare minimum .. nothing fancy or extra .

The staff was always eager to help with anything. Air Canada failed to deliver my luggage the entire week we were there. The staff daily tried to contact them, and even sent emails - no response.

The room was very clean and comfortable, I would only recommend a look at the bottom of the shower to stop the minor leaks in the seal along the bottom. Other than that it was a great room in a great hotel in an amazing city.

My second stay at the CenterHotel Plaza. My first time was in March 2013. They did some remodeling since then which reduced the size of the rooms and eliminated three quarters of the food offerings of the Breakfast buffet. This time we had a "superior" twin room. According to their description "superior" rooms have a view. So, anyway, after arriving quite early (8:30 am local time), we paid the early check in fee of 30 Euro and were given a "Superior" room which overlooked a sheltered walkway and was a little bigger than a postage stamp. I told them I needed a bigger room and also told them there was no "view." One of the young women from the Reception Desk escorted me to show me the "superior" rooms that were available for early check in. We selected Room 303 which has a sensational view overlooking Ingólfur Square and a tub shower in the roomy bathroom. Perfect! We spent our unwinding time after our activities sitting in our room, looking out at the people coming and going in the square. The breakfast was more than adequate with hot and cold cereals, yogurts, fresh fruits, boiled and scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, several types of bread and rolls, etc., etc., etc. There is also a bar in the lobby. The staff were very pleasant and happy to do whatever they can to make their guests happy. There are many restaurants, a bank, bars, a souvenir store, convenience store less than a block away & a Tourist Information nearby. Heaven in Iceland.

This hotel is in a great location. We walked everywhere! The rooms are nice, clean, and spacious. The continental breakfast is delicious with many options. Great stay overall!

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Well staffed with pleasant and helpful personnel 24/7. The central location was perfect and within easy walking distance to many restaurants and clubs. Good water pressure for showers. Also, not to be forgotten was the great breakfast included in the price - it included hot frittata eggs, bacon, sausage, hot oatmeal, wonderful assortment of fresh breads, toast, fruits, etc. The breakfast area was large and clean - no problem finding an empty table.

Very helpful English speaking front desk agents made our visit more pleasant.

The Centerhotel Plaza is in a perfect location to walk to all the great shops and restaurants in Reykjavik. The room was comfortable but not what you would consider elegant at all. The floors need work and the shower was a bit small with no shelves to put anything on. The room was pin drop quiet at night and the staff was friendly and helpful. A great and plentiful breakfast was served each morning. Bedding and towels where clean and adequate. It is located next to a tourist office where you can book anything you need.

Took local tours ate in nearby restaurants each night - will return to Iceland! For anyone who enjoys the diversity of terrain and climate, Iceland is a must. Iceland Air's deal for allowing 7-day layovers between US and Europe is outstanding.

Central location was perfect for the first two nights in Iceland. Comfortable rooms and relatively quiet. Front desk staff was very helpful upon check in. Only issue I had is that we booked thinking that parking was included (based on the amenity description). It is not. If you have a vehicle, you'll need to pay for parking in the garage around the corner.

The hotel staff was great and the location was perfect. I would recommend getting a room in the newer part of the hotel, hose rooms are a little nicer.

I wanted to check in early, but my room was not ready. Finally, they let me check in 50 minutes early. Got into the room and discovered it was like someone's attic addition. I had a twin bed, but the ceiling was only full height on one side of the room as it slanted down on the other side to about 3 feet from the floor. The only place that I could stand was on one side of the room and in the two dormers, which, lucky for me was in the shower, toilet, and desk. Tiny room and if youre over 4 foot tall, you will not stand up much. Considering the $300/day cost I felt i should have been able to stand up everywhere. The location is great and central to everything, but the room was on a courtyard that could be very loud, especially on culture night. Great wifi, staff helpful. I will not stay here again, but would opt instead for a Center hotel away from the noise and with full sized rooms.

This hotel is centrally located and was a very good deal. A parking garage is just one block away. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Our only complaint is that the shower was a little bit tight.

The staff was nice and were very accommodating to our requests. The location was perfect and you can walk to many interesting sites. The only downside was the other guest who were loud and rude late at night.

Like many of our vacations, we chose not to rent a car and see the city and surroundings on foot or bus. The location on the city center square can't be beat. Restaurants and shops are everywhere, range from fast food to elegant. Note that nothing in Reykjavik is cheap, but this was very reasonable. Wonderfully friendly English speaking staff and a _very_ good included breakfast buffet with everything from herring to bacon and muesli through veggies. The room wasn't large or fancy and had some pealing paint (not a lot), but felt clean and cozy. Natural hot spring water for the showers was a unique, but not unpleasant experience. Do expect the classic "rotten eggs" sulfur smell of a hot spring, but we didn't find it objectionable and you never ran out!. Sandwich place in the plaza is great for late night munchies. "Tapas" restaurant just around the corner is a very good somewhat trendy place. Price was also quite good, so would definitely use this hotel again.
