The overall look is nice. I would expect a little extra luxury in the bedroom and the bath towels. Nice breakfast and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. Balcony with street view very much appreciated. Good location too.
We are talking about buffet. Breakfast is ok, but dinner is terrible. If you come later than 19h, you will not have possibility to eat every meal they served, because it is already eaten by guests. (This is also case with breakfast) I was terrified with hygiene, because each meal had pieces of other meals😳 The meals are made of cheapest ingredients and also fruit was lowest quality. I had a feeling that because you already paid HB that it doesn't really matter what will guests eat, because they already paid, so who cares they will not notice it.... so, if you want to eat, and you like it, just be prepared to be on sprint line and run to restaurant !!! 🏃🏃🏻🏃🏿
I spent there only 1 night. It was very nice stay - good value but price wasn't cheapest. Hotel is good located, very close to public parking, just few minutes walk from old city Retimno. Rooms are clean, with nice, small balcony. Breakfast typical for such hotels which means you won't be hungry but it is not 5* Michellin restaurant :) I was glad because of breakfast, service, standard and staff. There is very small "swimming pool" on the corner of the street. I enjoyed staying there.
On the surface very nice, some issues when you look a little closer. The bathroom featured hairs when we first arrived, and I saw a roach when I went downstairs to use the facilities. Or should I say "facilities" - the washing machine was out of order and the gym featured a multitude of broken equipment. The breakfast was wonderful (although a friend found a hair in her cake/sweet loaf) and the location was okay. Stayed in the off season so the pool was closed, although it looked nice.
Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in Nov, Dec. The room is fantastic and very spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The front desk is very helpful when you ask them for assistance. It is a 10 min to the beach from the hotel in which there are many nice restaurants. There is a supermarket right across the road. The shower was a bit small but the water pressure and the rain head feature was fantastic. The breakfast in the morning was very good. I wouldn't recommend using their self-service laundry however and you I don't recommend drinking from the tap.
It is a very clean and good hotel. Located in the city center, next to the old town. The staff were very polite and always with a smile. The breakfast was excellent. I recommend it without reservations.
Hotelulul Olympic Palladium is a 3 star hotel , is located 400 meters from the sea and is equipped with elevator and has 75 rooms , restaurant , conference hall , gym , swimming pool, internet corner . The room has a balcony , mini fridge , telephone, television and air conditioning is free.In room and found a safe that can be used against payment. It cleans the rooms daily . The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner and is clean serving professional customers . Breakfast is served on the terrace near the pool . Public bus stop is opposite the hotel and you can visit the city by public transportation. I stayed here with my family 7 nights and everything was wonderful. I recommend everyone this hotel.
One of the best 3* hotels in Europe. Staff and the management are worth 5*. They keep very high level of service by all means. True city hotel on a great location, clean and comfortable. I would reccomend it to anyone, anytime.
I stayed for just 1 night and here is my impression: + Central location + Nice room + Rich breakfast - No parking at the hotel. We had to search for 15 minutes to find a parking place relatively close to the hotel, which was not even free. - The shower was rusty and the ventilation of the toilet room was not working. Overall, quite overpriced for what it offers today (92€ per night for a standard room).. I'm sure that 15 years ago it would have been a very fancy place.
We spent 10 days in Olympic Palladium with my family in the high season of July. An obvious plus is the hotel's location in the heart of Rethymnon with a supermarket just across, many taverns, souvenir shops, bars, cozy alleys and parks nearby, old town and a port with pirate ships offering entertaining cruises. Sadly there obvious pluses end: the hotel's not on the first beach line, so sea is good 15 minutes away (and some more until the actual municipal beach with the seabeds). Everything about the hotel feels small in size: the whole building, small parking and barely any space to stop a vehicle closeby, tiny narrow corridors, tiny rooms (could barely move around with 3 slim people), absolutely tiny pool (max depth 1.40 and the length probably not much more) and a very small variety in the buffet. The personnel is helpful and pleasant to speak with overall. Breakfast is quite tasty, despite no variety. Coffee and chocolate were great. I personally didn't like the dinners: fruits were nice, but un-spicy meat was under-represented. Drinks are not free during dinner, as usual. Desserts finished way too quickly and weren't refilled. And an unpleasant surprise in the end: we haven't been warned that if we ate dinner on the arrival date (arrived past breakfast time), eating dinner on the departure day would not be free. I assumed since both days are paid for, we can use all hotel services (except vacating the room at 12:00). I'd commend the reception gentleman though who allowed us to pay for only one person instead of three, still, it was 12 euros wasted because no one told us eating even a little slice of fruit on this day is charged additionally. In the room the biggest issue was cleanliness: it didn't give the impression of being cleaned often, and on the first day we had some serious doubts it had been cleaned after the previous clients, except the sheets (which were changed but not properly washed). During the entire stay the maids didn't provide any more soap after the initial ones finished (and they even said they don't have any). There was no shower gel or shampoo at all. Enough has been said about the microscopic size of the shower. :) (we had a broken door too, and no shelf whatsoever in the cabin to put a soap on). On the plus sides: a hairdryer and a small adjustable second mirror. Ordinary beds were okay, the additional folding bed pretty uncomfortable though. It has been mentioned by others that air conditioner is quite weak. I enjoyed the view from the balcony (although balcony suffered from the same tiny size problem), but the room on the 5th floor was still very noisy (for some reason loads of sounds start happening at around 5 a.m. in the place - circus driving around, trash trucks, some unknown bangs, I just know that we were woken up at that time daily if the balcony was open. You can't have it closed anyway, since the A/C doesn't help much). The territory of the hotel was far better cleaned than our room, with a notable exception of the pool (every day there was some banana peel or other litter in it, I didn't see any people use it whatsoever). WiFi in the room was a pleasant surprise. Most of the times it worked well, though sometimes mysteriously disappeared for a couple of hours. (WiFi could be found on the streets and on the beach more often than you'd expect too). The beach and sea were without any negative sides, except maybe having to pay 10 euros for 2 seabeds. On our last day I joked with the gentlemen collecting money that maybe we could receive a small discount due to it being the last day (didn't expect a yes of course), to which he replied, clearly very annoyed, that on the last day we're supposed to pay tips for excellent service as opposed to getting discounts (I'm not sure what is the custom in this case, but I didn't feel we were being provided some notable "service" except collecting money and another worker occasionally offering to bring a drink from a nearby beach bar). In the souvenir shops it's possible to negotiate a discount if you're making a big purchase. Overall, we tried to like the hotel, and it definitely isn't a bad one, but also none of the best. Considering the price is considerably high, we were a bit disappointed. For people who don't spend any time indoors, the negatives listed might be less significant (my family enjoyed small naps through the day so we spent quite a bit of time in the hotel). Greece is a lovely country, and the openness and friendliness of the people coupled with the beauties of the island still made the vacation amazing.
