Relaxing getaway with a view
My wife and I spent a week at the villa at the end of Sept. and thoroughly enjoyed it. The villa is spacious and has good views of the ocean in the distance. It has everything you need to make your own dinners, something we did most of our stay. The outside space is excellent, and includes a covered seating area with BBQ, although we did not make use of it. The pool was great ! There is a Lidl supermarket back down the hill just off the main road which has most things and there is a very nice little grocery store next to Lidl where they do high end food - especially great feta. The villa is located in a quiet area although there are some neighbours close by. A 5 minute walk down the road and you are in Prines where there are a couple of little eateries and a small shop. We ate at the Olive Wine and Cook House and had a great meal. The owner, Adonis is quite the character and the salesman ! The roof top patio was great in the morning for breakfast and the sunsets in the evening were picturesque. There is also a local butcher within walking distance of the villa, although we didn’t find the selection that good when we went. There is a nice bakery near the bottom of the hill, back toward the main road. The villa is away from the hustle and bustle of Rethymno but close enough to get there in 10 mins by car. We really enjoyed the out the way location of the villa but still in easy reach of everything we needed. We highly recommend the villa for anyone a relaxing time.
