Appalling customer service

The checkin info was misleading, we were told that were able to check in at any time but when we reached the accommodation, there was no staff there to entertain us. Ended up having to sleep in the car at a service station. :(

Residence Laudine

This is basically a student residence rather than a hotel. Rooms include a fridge and microwave but it is quite a distance from the cemtre of town and the usual tourist attractions. Check in time after 5.30 is also quite a disadvantage.

Great basic accommodation. It looks like a student room with en suite toilet and shower. Also fridge,microwave and hob. Cheap parking at €5. Ideal for a short stay. Make sure you observe reception opening times for your arrival or make arrangements. We arrived 2 hours early and had to wait.

Simple and pleasant - get what you pay for

Simple room with all you need for your stay - even two little candies. Room is more an apartment than a hotel room, which was great for us - equipped with a microwave and a kitchenette. Only Con - Inconvenient Checkin-Checkout time

Not a hotel for Americans traveling on their own!

I would rate this hotel -5 if I could! This hotel is hard to find, Identified with the wrong number. behind locked gates with no combination provided in advance, has no parking available for check-in (street parking is almost nonexistent) and is minimally identified as Residence Laudine and not Hotel Laudine! Our GPS correctly led us to the location but we had to try it twice to believe it was close. We had to park in an illegal parking place to get out and scout the place on foot. We walked to both the back and the front of the buildings and then inquired of a passerby (who only spoke French). He pointed to a building which under closer inspection contained in a rather obtuse location the title "Residence Laudine". Walking some more led us to a locked gate with the address 8 (not7). We were able to wave down a lady in the lobby who was apparently a resident, who let us in but provided no other information (she also spoke only French). After examining the lobby for a few minutes (we believe we were there until the 5:30 check-in time) we decided to leave and try to find another place to stay. At approximately 7:00 PM we received an e-mail (in French) asking (we think) if we would be there before 8:00 PM and providing the gate code. It is our conclusion that this is an apartment residence doing hotel business on the side using extra rooms. They are definitely not run like a good hotel! Americans should avoid this hotel if at all possible!

Value for money

Room was very clean and while it was basic it had almost everything you needed. We knew it was primarily student accommodation. Room and bathroom were spacious and there was a sink, some cutlery and crockery and a microwave, however no kettle - (water could be boiled in microwave or saucepan.) there was a student desk and small flat screen TV but no channels in English. Would recommend, good priced budget room.

I was travelling to see the great champagne houses in Reims. This hotel is a 10 minute walk from Tait tender and Vranken-Pommery. No air conditioning but it was comfortable enough. The room has WiFi and a small fridge, microwave, and a free laundry facility. Extremely limited hours for the front desk so you need to be independent.

Check the check-in times carefully!

Make sure that you read the fine print that tells you that reception is only open from 5.30pm. We arrived too early but that was our faults. Parking is not easy to find.... you have to be lucky. Also there are no restaurants nearby so if you find a car spot and drive to dinner you have to be lucky again. We decided to cook.

Low-cost Laudine

Clean, comfortable, value for money, friendly staff. It was a budget booking and, with that in mind, we got everything we paid for. I left my laptop behind and the staff were helpful in locating and returning it to me. Happy to recommend.
