black mold around the air conditioner. air conditioner was leaking/dripping into the room and the staff knew it, and they still put us in the room. The leaking limited our ability to sit near the windows to the ocean front view. room was musty and smelled of mold. room was dirty-bed skirt was visibly dirty in many areas, floor was sandy and dirty. we did not even sleep in the bed but on top of it due to the dirt we saw. staff did give us a discount when we left but overall, the experience was not good due to the mold. my breathing was affected and that was clearly due to the mold issue which was prominent and i took pictures. We will not return.

Our experience at the Surf Club Hotel started off great! We got there about 1 PM and were able to park at the hotel and go to the beach until our room was ready. We were lucky to get to our room sooner than 4PM.-AWESOME! The next day we went to the beach and returned to our rooms and found they were not cleaned that day, not even new, clean towels. I called down to the office and they brought new towels up for us right away- the service was great overall--- But--When I asked why our room was not cleaned, I was told they get cleaned every 3 days unless we ask by 12PM for the maid service to clean the rooms. This was not told to me at check in when it should have been for accurate expectations of the staff. ( for nearly $500/night hotel stay I would expect our rooms to be cleaned daily) Also there were no outdoor showers to rinse off sand from myself, toddler and baby therefore we dragged sand into our room/shower which added to the headache of no clean towels because I was using them to clean the floors.

Booked a quick stay here as I was with family over the Thanksgiving holiday. I know this is a resort property off season so my expectations were not high. I was very pleasantly surprised with the ease of the remote check-in, the beautiful condition of the property in general and the spaciousness of the room. High marks across the board. Great place and the people that run this place certianly take a lot of pride in what they do.
The oceanfront location is great and the room was very clean - bed comfortable. And staff VERY friendly. But it's quite run down. I feel like I paid too much for what it was, but we still enjoyed our night.
The view from the room was amazing!!! but and the room is ok but was a bit dirty. The floors were sticky. We had to clean it out self. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel lacks parking and space. I had to do street parking for one night before they did not have enough parking spots. The stairs and hallway is covered with really dirty if you have allergies avoid this place.
I thought the staff was exceptional, friendly, welcoming, accommodating. The room was spacious gave me great ocean views from the street side of the Hotel. I had a wonderful experience and the price was right! I would stay again, anytime!

The View
Dewey Beach which is adjacent to the more well know Rehoboth Beach, is family friendly town with a number of good restaurants. The lodging facilities on in Dewey seemed limited to 3 floors. So we were unconcerned that the hotel did not have an elevator. And walking up two or three flights of steps turned out to be no problem for us. We were greeted with clean, long spacious room, with convection stove-top, toaster, microwave, a decent size fridge, and a flat screen TV with a crisp image with good color. The windows facing the ocean covered the entire width of the room and provided a magnificent view of the ocean which is just across the sand dune and beach. Viewing the sunrise from the room was as good as being on the beach itself.

This property boasts ocean views but the windows do not permit it as so much moisture has built up over the years in the window panes. Very disappointing. If on 1st floor, you will hear every step your upstairs neighbor takes.
