About this property

Entire place

rural, serene + sophisticated space

In the country, yet short drives to the Hudson River Valley's towns. So many guests have a hard time leaving to go out and explore .... so beware! This is a great spot to never leave as well a launch pad....

You can use our sweet-spot as the sleep & cook spot for outdoor sporty adventure or a the stay and lounge for a serene escape. Plenty of folks come to the Barn & Bike barn to sit by the fireplace and write!

The barn was reclaimed and reconfigured from a tumbledown but picturesque outbuilding. The interior was designed, built and furnished by the owners, who live in the farmhouse next door. (See photos for proximity). Lovely open spaces are seamlessly connected with smaller spaces ... which create nooks of privacy as well as places to gather.

The barn accommodates five guests. There are two queen beds and one pull-out sofa. One queen and the sofa-bed are in the communal space. The other upstairs bedroom can be closed off. The downstairs bedroom, one queen, provides greater privacy.

Well behaved dogs (2 max) are allowed and need to mentioned to us before booking. There is a small fee per night/per dog.

Before booking VRBO will present our "house rules" which you will be asked to agree to before paying.
Importantly are noise considerations for us and our neighbors: no partying. The maximum number of guests is limited to the number entered during the reservation.  The base price is for 2 guests. Lastly, photo, film shoots, or other commercial activity are not permitted unless a negotiated price has been established and paid prior to arrival. Please read the rental agreement as well as the entire description before booking - thank you! We look forward to having you here!
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 1.5 bathrooms, and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a sofa bed.

A beautifully curated barn overlooking a picturesque landscape. Gregg, the owner, really cares and wants to make sure you have everything you need. We stayed over a weekend when we were attending a wedding in the area. It was so nice to have a place to relax amidst all the festivities. The birdsong and bullfrog chorus led us to some of the soundest sleep we’ve enjoyed in a long time.

A beautiful and lovingly restored barn with hand-crafted design at every corner of the property

A beautiful and lovingly restored barn with hand-crafted design at every corner of the property. We loved our stay from start to finish, thank you so much to the owners, Molly and Gregg. We were a group of 4 seeking a beautiful spot to catch up as a family, to unwind and to enjoy the countryside. It was a really special get away - - to celebrate my 30th birthday with my family in mid-November. We will be recommending the property to our friends and relatives. We would also love to return ourselves. There was plenty of space for us to relax together and enjoy the barn's beautiful interiors and views onto the woodland. We really enjoyed the layout of the barn - with beautiful decking, opening onto the spacious sitting, dining, and kitchen area with the much loved wood burner as a center piece. There are plenty of other cozy spaces to sit, read, paint, nap and enjoy viewpoints. These are found in special nooks and special landings (I think children would also really like these). Also, beautiful artwork, up-cycled wooden frames and shelving throughout. The bedrooms were very comfortable and beautifully designed. I keep using the word beautiful in this review, but it really is the best word to describe the barn! The immediate landscape is beautiful too and we enjoyed walking close to the barn. With more days, we would have explored further afield too - the barn is in easy reach of lots of great tecks etc. Otherwise, the listing description is entirely accurate. The barn is extremely well-maintained, clean and with all the amenities listed. As a family, we enjoy cooking on holiday, so perhaps the only thing missing for us is a large sided dish for roasting or baking. Otherwise, the kitchen was extremely well equipped and the oven was brilliant. We were also really impressed by the solar panels installed. Truly, this barn has been so well designed. To finish, the owners are lovely, providing helpful instructions ahead of our trip and a very warm welcome. So we would like to return!!! Again as a family or with a group of friends. Either in the winter months to make use of the incredible fire places or in the summer months to make use of the beautiful outdoor deck and fire pit areas. We really look forward.
