Please send us a message in the app if you need anything at all! We want your stay to be as enjoyable as possible.
The Raleigh Mill House is located in the historic Bloomsbury district of the extremely desirable Raleigh Five Points neighborhood. It is minutes from downtown and virtually anywhere else in Raleigh. Within walking distance of numerous, high quality restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops, it still maintains a secluded and private feel. There are endless places to walk along the sidewalk, enjoying the beautiful homes surrounded by peaceful, giant trees and mature landscaping. Its a great place to be alone with your thoughts, or to have deep discussions with family and friends.
Guests should park in the driveway (no street parking please). Guests can explore the yard, but please be sure to stay on the stone paths and not disturb the plants. Feel free to look into the koi pond (please do not climb on the rocks or feed the fish). Guests may use the backyard firepit area. There is no greenhouse access for guests.
Landscapers and mosquito sprayers may access the exterior of the home to do their job, but will not need to enter the home.

The Raleigh Mill House incorporates architectural features from the California Mill Valley as well as stained glass windows and trim carpentry made from rare woods. At center stage in the living room are large circular windows that once graced the towering heights of the NC State King Center and were rescued by the home's designer just as it was being demolished. The home itself is planted in the midst of what is essentially a botanical garden, with meandering stone pathways, and is set behind a historic 1920s home (Listed on the National Register of Historic Places) in the Historic Bloomsbury district of Raleigh Five points, where it's current owners and caretakers live. Features, not one, but two winding staircases and a beautiful custom handrail to match. Put the finishing touches on your work project in the office built from reclaimed wood. Or, gaze out at the stars on a cool fall night through the skylights as you lay on the king size bed in the master bedroom.
This is not your standard, run of the mill (no pun intended) short term rental. This is an opportunity to stay in one of the coolest homes in Raleigh.
Extra touches: Bidet (stand alone) Saloon style doors to enter the Master Bedroom Double shower heads Rainfall shower heads Grass cloth wallpaper
All linens are washed thoroughly after each visit. All pillows and mattresses are encased with waterproof and bed bug proof protectors.
The Five Points neighborhood is extremely walkable, and one could very easily walk to a different restaurant or brewery every night for a week or two. If you do drive, parking is typically available close to your destination.
Some of our guests take an Uber/Lyft from the airport and simply walk to explore nearby restaurants for meals. There are also one-man E-scooters that may be available to rent (Search for "Lime" "Spin" or "Bolt" electric scooters online for more info) for a speedier trip.
We ask that you do not park anywhere along White Oak Road when you stay at the Raleigh Mill House; only park in the driveway. White Oak Road can be a bit crowded with parked cars and we want to make sure our neighbors have plenty of places to park.

Raleigh Mill House
Raleigh Mill House was the perfect place for us for a long weekend visiting family in Raleigh! Great walking neighborhood with everything we needed:Walgreens, Florist shop, brewery, and the best pizza (Lilly's)
The house is certainly whimsical! Very comfortable. However, the light switches should be labeled ( some didn't function). And we didn't realize the upstairs bedrooms had only curtains and not doors (which did not impact our stay). We will stay again if we have another family gathering in Raleigh!

Fun and comfortable home!
Whimsy is exactly what you’ll get with this home! Definitely an interesting layout that had us asking a lot of questions! The house is quirky, but clean, comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. The owners were absolutely fantastic with accommodating us and our last minute reservation due to VRBO double booking issue with another host. So responsive and kind—we could not have asked for better hosts! Location was great with walkable stores and restaurants. Street was quiet and private. Perfect girls’ weekend for myself and friends!
