The property has tight parking. My son was playing in the pool and got cut in his foot. The staff "examined" the pool and found nothing. Rooms were ok. There is a small pathway that takes you to a beach. The beach was a bit rocky so it wasn't as pleasant to play in for kids.

Evelyn from reception was great. The spa was great. The restaurant and bar (specifically the bartender by the pool) were not great. Food was expensive, but flavorless. We had enjoyed our stay here in Costa Rica and this was the last place we would stay at for our week trip.. The bartender seemed bothered every time we ordered, and was always short with me even when I tried going out of my way to purchase something else to leave a tip on the card. The restaurant, we ordered sushi. I love sushi and I don’t think I’ve ever complained nor sent back sushi. When I called the restaurant to return a a plate I DID NOT EAT because of the way it made me feel (I ordered two of the same plates) I was met with a defensive manager saying refunds were not allowed and that since the chef said the food came out okay, I have no other choice but to eat it or not. What he did offer, was a bottle of wine or a “couple of beers” to compensate. But I stated since I was not feeling well, that these options did not sound appealing and I would rather speak with the general manager tomorrow morning before checkout. We spoke with her. I was not satisfied with the end result of the conversation nor her customer service. Every time she spoke, I let her finish. Whereas she would cut me off and say “sorry no refunds.” Basically saving I did not have a good enough reason. Will not be back

Beautiful views and nice beach access (you will have to make the trek up and down the stairs). Breakfast was tasty and offered plenty of opportunity to see the local monkeys. Staff did an excellent job of keeping them away from people.

The property itself was excellent. Built on the side of a mountain, walking was difficult due to steep incline. There is no transportation to the beach, which is disappointing. Walking in the steep inclines and numerous stairs down to the beach discourages older people from enjoying the beach.

We loved everything about the hotel, especially the constant entertainment of the monkeys! If you came to Costa Rica to enjoy the wildlife, you'll be very happy at this hotel. Our room was very nice and clean, the breakfast was delicious and there were lots of options to chose from. The pools had a beautiful views of the greenery and the ocean. Only downside is that the hotel is about 20-25 mins from town where all the restaurants and shops are, and it's quite the hike with the area having big hills and no sidewalks. But if you're the kind of person who is happy just having the hotel food, this won't be a problem. There are so many food options on the menu. I definitely recommend staying at this hotel!

We were informed that we needed to pay an additional USD $ 159.99 at Check In. The room appeared clean, but, there was a musty/mold odor. The odor was reduced about 2 hours after the AC was turned on.

Restaurant staff was excellent. Hallways were dark and we had to use our phone lights to see at night. Appreciate golf cart service to get up/down the steep walk to the restaurant and pool. Construction noise outside our building started early.
