Absolutely wonderful
Casa Clearwater exceeded our expectations. We arrived during a pretty decent storm, one that continued throughout our stay. We were able to snorkel and swim during breaks in the weather. The amount of sea life just around the base of the house was fantastic. The house was equipped with what we needed to stay at the property and enjoy the tranquility of the area. The one negative was the boats taking people back and forth from starfish beach. They didn’t respect the buoys all the time so we had to be careful swimming in the deeper water near the path of the boats. All in all, it will go down as one of the best places to cast our cares away and just enjoy the moments we were in. Our whole family loved it!

Hard to leave!
This property was fantastic! Cool breezes at night, with the sound of waves lapping gently beneath you. The swimming is amazing and the fish viewing is fantastic, it’s like living over your own private aquarium! Teo and Omar were Awesome and took us anywhere we wanted in a moments notice. Bocas town was a blast. Everything was perfect!

Short of perfection
The home is as pictured, well designed, in a spectacular location. Sadly however it comes up short for some peculiar management decisions that could/(should) be recitified. The house lacks for a cleaning cloth, no dish towels, an inadequate coffee maker, beach towels, all basic cooking supplies - cooking oil, basic spices, salt pepper, sugar, salt and pepper shakers, decent kayak paddles, colander, etc. The list could be made longer and they would not cost much to rectify. But it is not so and it is frustrating to arrive and discover a total absence of cooking supplies and after dinner discovering there isn’t even a dish towel to clean up with.
tips on how to make the most of your stay (from people who rented a boat)
When you arrive, soak in all of the beauty. Teo gives you a tutorial on the house, then before you unpack, jump in the water.
I read about a “gourmet” grocery store; not necessary. Teo brought us to 2 of the big ones in the center of town. Between these 2 big stores they did had everything (including beer/liquor).
We rented our own panga (a motorboat with covering) for 3 days. We actually should’ve rented it for the entire time. We could go anywhere we liked. We went to starfish beach, the Smithsonian, Bocas town, dolphin bay etc. On the days that Teo took us places, he arrived within 20 minutes of our request, and picked us up exactly when we asked. He was very good at communication.
The kayaks and paddle boards are great, but the snorkeling gear has leaky masks. Bring your own.
We kept the windows and doors open at all times. And it was really lovely. It’s hot otherwise.
The only excursion we took with Teo was one to the bat cave because it was not something you can access without somebody who really knows the mangroves. Go. It’s great!
Turn off the nights at night; look at the stars.
The kitchen does not have a blender but has a lot of cookware.
The electricity went out several times, (stormy season). We yelled for Angel who turned on the generator almost immediately.
Sunsets are exquisite; golden light on water. Take a sunset kayak. Bring bugspay! Cute house geckos eat bugs!
Swim under the house and get your photo taken through the floor!
