The JW Marriott Pune is a superlative experience from the stoic presence and warm professionalism of doormen Kishor and Sayed to the inviting welcome of Babita and the team at Pashaa on floor 24. I had the distinct pleasure of staying at the JW Marriot in Pune for 3 weeks for a business trip, my smoking room had every amenity I could wish for and the turn down service was exceptional. My trip coincided with Diwali and the service team left me an ornamental ashtray for the festivities and an invite to the JW Marriot celebrations on site. For me this was a delightful touch as I had travelled alone and was as much a stranger to India as India was strange to me. The concierge were indispensable given my lack of local knowledge, the team inclusive of Joshua, Kumar and Ravindra gave helpful and friendly advice from booking my car to work and showcasing points of interest for my leisure time. My extreme thank you to those staff and others too numerous to mention. The welcome at breakfast was a sincere highlight of my day, the staff were gracious and warm and spared time in their busy schedules to address me and ask me how I was, this was not at all laboured and I genuinely felt welcome. The breakfast at Spice Kitchen was nothing short of incredible. The temptation for me as a European is to stick with what I know but keen guidance from two wonderful chefs, Gagan and Saarthak enabled me to sample dishes that I would have never contemplated but I simply had to talk with either chef, advise them of my likes and dislikes and within moments I was presented with incredibly delicious Indian breakfast choices; I should add that if you want to stay European then the eggs, bacon, croissants and strudels are so good! The waiters at Spice Kitchen were dutiful, efficient and professional; Ashish, Harshit, Chand, Om and Amit to name but a few were my gracious hosts daily and I thank them for their terrific attitudes. Pune Baking Company has coffee that is better than western brands and the baristas are competent and professional, thank you for taking the time with my skinny wet lattes, I really appreciated the effort for a little piece of home. The lobby bar was the perfect haven at the end of a long day (India and therefore Indians never sleep!) and I very much enjoyed talking with and sharing jokes with Pawan until the early hours. Both Pawan and Om were welcome company at the end of a 14 hour working day not only because they recommended Indian wines. Perfect hosts! Regrettably my schedule with work did not afford me time to eat at the excelsior Alto Vino or Shakahari (I have only heard great things) however I did have the opportunity to make use of the executive lounge. To enhance a stay at JW Marriott I cannot recommend this package highly enough, my perfect host most nights was Jacob. Jacob is a true paragon of hospitality; his warmth, demeanour and aptitude for his occupation was tremendous and I hope this feedback reaches him as my stay would not have been as wonderful without his refinement. I would like to add that the Lounge chef Saarthak made Indian cuisine flavoursome and inviting to my VERY established British palette. He advised with knowledge and I hugely enjoyed the showcase of his talents. I would certainly recommend this luxurious hotel and its wonderful staff to all fellow business and leisure travellers, I wholly endorse the pool and the pina colada (with double rum) as well as MI-AM-I. This hotel has everything should you wish to try and the welcome and interaction with the staff is as warm as you want it to be. I truly felt welcome and would delight in going back for business, my only regret is that I cannot mention everyone at JW Marriott who enhanced my experience! Sincerely, Daniel.
This doesn't feel like a huge monolithic hotel. Perhaps that is where it scores. The gymnasium overlooks a tree canopy with nice bamboo plants on the balcony. The breakfast restaurant has several sections with small corners where one can eat in privacy. The lobby wasn't large and cavernous. The location is off a busy highway without the horrendous traffic. Minor niggles though. No master switch in room to turn off all lights especially the lamps. The key card wasn't contact less. Only a single plug point bedside for PEDs. Finally, the check in took long though I had used their mobile app to check in.
It was a flying visit but certainly one to remember. Having flown up from Bangalore where we stayed in the Howard Johnson, this hotel was fantastic. On arrival, they only had smoking rooms which wasn’t ideal but the front office manager (Jenvie) was excellent. She asked us to go for complimentary dinner in their roof top restaurant/ bar which was super. One hour later, our rooms were ready and everything was ok, first class service from a first class hotel. The rooms are very comfortable, the business centre well equipped and the breakfast was super. I managed to grab a few hours by the pool which was also very nice. I would highly recommend this hotel and be sure to try the bar & restaurant and experience the views form the 24th floor open top bar.
Stayed here for couple of nights to attend a conference . The hotel lives up to its name and offers hospitality which we have been accustomed to from the Marriott group. Hotel is situated in the city and is easily accessible , airport though is far off Reception and check in is smooth. Coffee shops and restaurant are very good . Restaurant on top of hotel offers a good view of the city at night. Housekeeping and room service are top notch . The Spa situated inside the hotel is very nice 👍 but prior appointment is a must . THE HOTEL HOSTED THE PUNE IPL CRICKET PLAYERS MY ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THE RESTRICTED AND DIFFICULT PARKING FOR VEHICLES.
This hotel has the best location. The ambiance is simply beautiful. The hospitality is top notch. The rooms are luxurious ,very well maintained, offer great view. Food in the restaurants is delicious and served well.
The hotel was so good.. Mostly facility that they are provided was quite good..the service offer to me are very good.. And Also atmosphere are... So I suggest to all people who want to do business meetings they should have to try at this place..
The hotel view is aesthetic with better interior design.The connectivity is good. Ground floor restaurant has mouthwatering varieties. Very good quality. Ambiance is good. Hygiene maintained. I liked the pizzas very much.
The services and ambience were upto my satisfaction. The big rooms complimented the decor of the place. The pool was well maintained.There is a scope of improvement in the quality of food that is provided, especially considering the value for money. Kanika and Vikram ensure that our stay was comfortable, considering our requirements. Overall, it was a happy stay.
Travelers, I have spent over 6 months in Pune for business, and the last month for two weeks. Yes, I chose to take my only annual vacation to India (U.S. Citizen, AZ). I live 20 minutes from 'The Princess, J.W. Marriott' here in Scottsdale, AZ. Honestly, there rooms range from $220-$500USD per night, and the rooms are dated. Worse, the service is HORRIBLE. My first trip to India was for 70 nights. No family or friends...and a country I had never visited. Loved Indian food, but honesty, with our 'fake news' was very apprehensive. Then I was greeted by Lovely Srivastava. She is the head of Customer Experience there at the hotel. I was jet lagged, nervous, tired, and overwhelmed after 21 hours in the air. Lovely ensured my room was up to my expectations, followed up on all services including room service and housekeeping!! Honestly, if I had no family, I was so well taken care of I would have cancelled my return flight. As a mortgage operations manager, I get one vacation annually. Hawaii, Fiji, Bali, Cape Town? I had enough points to go ANYWHERE in the world. Instead, with only trust and conviction, I chose the J.W. Marriott in Pune, India. If you want to be treated like royalty no matter your nationality, race, religion, food allergies, privacy, or socioeconomic status; This hotel and country is for you! Stayed straight 3 nights on back of some serious recommendation. Been with Marriott since long and have earned a Platinum stature. Booking: Yes this was for work and booking was made by my admin however I spoke with the sales lady personally who took my details with an assurance that the booking will be taken care off. Check-in: We arrived at the hotel post 6pm and I must say that the place was SUPER busy. I was told that there was a large group that was checking in which upset their process. There were no rooms ready and was surprised that (a) there were no rooms ready (b) we were asked to proceed to exec lounge and the lady kept saying that we could have FREE beverage and snacks – sounded like a favor to me After almost 40 min we finally got the keys however the room had 2 queen beds. Had to again spend some time to get the room changed to get a single king sixe bed. As a platinum member I have been offered certain freebies (at all other places) like welcome drink / snack / beverage / point's. Nothing of such sort happened this time around. This is the only place where I seriously remained restless each night and was never woke up rested. There was this weird smell in the room that one usually gets in maximum properties in US (seems like a 3M all-purpose cleaner or something - as told by the house keeper). Was never able to close the curtains properly (maybe I did not know how to do so ) Check-out: The process was too confusing – not for me. There were receipts that did not have the discount per my status with Marriott Rewards and even the laundry was charged where in per their screens at check-in it was all complimentary. Which they took off only after much deliberation. Task Ownership: I tried making a reservation for a few people and was guided to the concerned customer service exec. I called the lady who because she was busy however never called back till late in the evening. A day later she followed and once again insisted in a favorable tone that she found a room for me on Executive floor – the offer that I declined. Overall there's no attention to details and lack of task ownership because of which there were no proactive steps taken. I personally loved the place however the service could have been a lot better. Dining experience was fabulous which I shall list down separately. Also to add I’d also appreciate the house keeper who cleaned my room on all 3 days. One person who maintained consistency and each time greeted you with a smile !! PS: names for CSR & Sales lead have been withheld for obvious reasons. They are women who need not be discussed in open. Disclaimer: Views expressed are my own, stemming out from true, personal experiences.
