A Vrbo Nightmare
First of all, i want to say that i did everything i can to not leave a bad review. I asked the owner for a refund and he only refunded me 60% considering i was forced to stay the night in his filthy dilapidated place while i found a very expensive last minute alternative.
The place was not easy to find. It would've been easier to just say its the only blue building. It's part of an apartment complex with a number of units and family members of the owner occupy a number of units. They were friendly enough.
Now we get to the unit and the place was absolutely filthy. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The toilet seat had urine on it. Not urine stains. Actual urine. The walls, the ceiling fan, the flippin ceiling itself was old chipped and needed some bad TLC.
The bed was the cherry on the this feces cake. My wife noticed it at first. And then i confirmed it. There was a putrid animalistic smell coming from the middle of the bed. I thought maybe its just the old comforter they had from the 1950s. Well the following sheet had the same smell. I kept pulling sheets thinking this smell would end and it went right through the bed! It smelled like how it smells when someone doesn't clean their backside for, maybe, weeks.
We cleaned the bathroom and made plans to book something else. I just wanted a fair refund. I was willing to pay the one night i was there. After trying multiple times he won't agree and amazingly Vrbo has no control or authority.
