Woman travelling alone. In my experience the staff was very happy and very helpful. Mostly male staff, saw only 2 women staff members in one week. Breakfast buffet was good. You have fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, sausages, pancakes, juices etc. and of course an omelet station. Coffee was excellent. Tanning beds and area was nice, pool was clean, my rooms (I changed in the middle of my stay, because of my view being on the 1st floor right to the pool) were very clean and satisfactory. It is obvious that the hotel is going through renovation, because not one room of the four I saw was the same. Some were modern, some not or then some PARTS of the room was modern and then the toilet was old etc. They probably mostly renovate when something breaks but I also did see and hear a lot of renovating in one week. It is obvious that they are doing their best for everyone to have a nice time. I am very grateful, and I will return to this hotel if I go back. Earlier reviews made me smile a bit, because of course you will have a bad time if your attitude is bad! Yes they feed the birds or actually to be precise you can see drink glasses filled with grenadine for the birds to drink. I think it's sweet, nature comes close.
I and my wife were at this hotel on January 15th . For the price we paid we thought, it was going to be a nice place, but guess what we found?. On third floor, right on the main hallway, a very old water leak, old toilets all over the side yard and an old fountain without use, also birds eating the food. In other words this place was like a junkyard . Judge by yourself.
Breakfast is under all of any expectations. Birds eating food from the tables. Rooms are living worthy, shower room's are out of date. TV have no clear reception. I was surprised that Finnish Aurinkomatkat offering this hotel in them package.
The resort needs a facelift. The comforters and pillows are lumpy. They only give you one key even if it's a double room. The food is adequate. However, it's right on the beach which is private and the staff is really friendly.
We were here for an overnight stay and the property didn't disappoint. It is also surrounded by other hotels so keep an eye when looking for this hotel. The rate came with both breakfast and dinner buffet. Both meals the buffet spread was more than enough. The breakfast had a variety of cold cereal, bread and pastries, hot food consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, hard boiled eggs and then they also had a hot omelet station prepared to your liking. Dinner had a lot of yummy local Dominican food ! Tons of choices ! They also provided an all day tea and coffee station which really helped coming in after strolling around the beach in the evening. We also hired a local boat to take us out to do some snorkeling - quite affordable 20/ person! The hotel is quaint, smaller and on the older side. Some of the rooms were not us updated as some but overall it met our needs since it was right there on the beach ! The pool was small but functional. On a budget this will be your property.
Very comfortable rooms, good service from staff and good food. Open air dining room where you can view the sea in the daytime and see wonderful sunsets in the evening. In the 1940s style of architecture, the rooms, with a second floor elevator are very friendly and comfortable.
We were in the area to do a humanitarian trip. While the hotel is perhaps a bit tired, it was an oasis at the end of the day.The staff were very attentive and the food was generally very good. I very much enjoyed eating Breakfast and Dinner watching the ocean from the restaurant. Rooms were clean and while not 5 star they had everything you might need. Shared the resort with a group from Westjet. They were amazing individuals and thier corporate culture was second to none. I hope to return sooner than later.
Twelve of us stayed at the hotel whilst we were volunteering with Mission Direct in the area. I can’t fault the staff or the food, to be honest; I have stayed in much worse accommodation. There were other volunteer groups staying at the same time as us so the atmosphere was busy. Rooms were basic but clean, the food was fine, especially breakfast.
Although dated and basic, we found this hotel to be clean and comfortable. The pool is a decent size with plenty of space surrounding it. We only had breakfast there as the hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants and bars. Plenty of breakfast choice including very good, made to order omelettes etc. Hotel staff are relaxed and pleasant.
Hotel is good and basic, rooms are clean but not very modern. Breakfast is good but not very varied. In two weeks may be bored. Staff is ok, not super friendly but ok, they help if you need help. Hotel pool is nice and clean. Hotel have 1 own beach and 1 shared beach. Our vacation the whole time the waves were big and strong. We also met 2 cucarachas in our toilet, not very nice guests. Be careful at the sosua by the sea beach there is a tour guide named Chiquito. Dont trust this guy, he is very friendly and everything, but dont trust him!! He's just trying to steal your money! if you wanna buy trips do it with real companies with office, not from the guy from beach.
