Hotel's rooms stinks, "continental" breakfast was cheap, not healthy at all, scrambled eggs everyday, cold ham, third world fruits. They will turn A/C off if you go out to take care of business, wont give you extra bottles of water, just a bottle a day. One night invited us to a hotel "cocktail" they had only draught beer, peanuts, and small potatoes kabobs, but were serving their VIPs a German group staying in the hotel. We spent 21 days here and customer service sucks, one day they didn't leave any soap< I requested some it took them two hours to bring me soap, shampoo, and coffee.
If you´ve ever stayed at a Holiday Inn Express anywhere in the world you´ll know what to expect here. The room was clean with comfortable beds and a very nice shower. There is a business center with computers available plus free wifi. The free breakfast was good. A previous reviewer complained that they didn´t offer the same items as they do in the US - but this is Mexico. A traveler from Mexico shouldn´t expect chilaquiles or tamales at the HI Express in Omaha, nor should a traveler from the US expect hotcakes or cinnemon rolls in Puebla. The hotel is a couple miles from the historic center which means taking a taxi or the hotel shuttle to get there. Unfortunately, the shuttle gets booked up so we weren´t able to take it when we wanted. Also there are few restaurants within walking distance - unless you want to walk nearly 1 km to the Galerias Serdan shopping center. Other than that small inconvenience, the hotel met all of our expectations.
We stayed here for 16 nights in December. We were in a suite on the 1st floor and it was huge. The room had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, dinette with four chairs, sofa, three chairs with ottomans, desk, etc. The downside was that there was no view, but there were many positives and the rate was exceptional. The service provided by the front desk staff, breakfast staff and housekeeping staff was consistently friendly, helpful and professional. The breakfast was good, with a large variety of options. It was handy to have a washer and dryer at our disposal for $2 a use, detergent included. The hotel was a short walk from a Walmart, many great restaurants on Juarez Avenue and a bit of a longer walk to the center of town. I used Uber to get around while my husband worked and sightseeing couldn't have been easier. I often walked the 30 to 45 minutes back to the hotel from the zocalo. We would definitely stay here again.
Hotel has free parking. The breakfast was good. The front desk staff were helpful. There is a pool but I did not use it. The rooms were quiet and nice. The beds are comfortable. A nice hotel located not to far from downtown. Only downside is that I did laundry and the hotel did a good job except I could not charge it to the room. Had to pay cash. Kind of a pain.
Having stayed at other IHG locations I expected so much more from a Holiday Inn Express - I'm sitting here at this hotel wishing I had selected a different place... especially since I'm here for a full 6 nights. The staff was really friendly and the price was reasonable but that's about it. -I made the reservation with the IHG call center and gave them my rewards number but they didn't bother to transmit it over to the hotel with my reservation. I noticed it was missing a check-in and had to bring it to the attention of the front desk. -The desk lamp in my room did not work on my arrival so I called the front desk and they sent up someone from maintenance. He took the light and it took more than an hour for him to come back with a replacement. In the meantime I stayed up waiting for him to return but I was exhausted after a long day of traveling and just wanted to go to bed. If I had known it was going to take that long I would've let them fix it the next day. -my room didn't have an alarm clock. I wanted to set it because I had an early business meeting the following morning. I had to call and ask for one to be delivered... Seems weird you're a hotel without alarm clocks in the rooms?? -if you're expecting a breakfast like you might find at a Holiday Inn Express in the United States be prepared for a surprise. They didn't have any of the hot cinnamon rolls or pancakes which I thought were standards for this brand. The breakfast is definitely geared for the local market. -The hotel lobby is also under construction and there's only one functioning elevator which is really slow. I found it much quicker to climb seven flights of stairs than sit and wait for the elevator. On the positive side, there was never a need to use the fitness center. Next time, I am going to try the Courtyard Marriott down the street.
Very satisfied with my stay here! Booked two rooms connected with two beds each room. Beds comfortable, clean rooms overall nice room. Free breakfast was great: more choices than a continental breakfast. You see the pool from my table and look nice. The parking lot was crossing the street with security gate and personal. My next time here will come back to this Hotel.
I was on the 7th floor volcano view. The king size bed was comfy and clean. Breakfast was ok amd the small indoor pool was perfect for kids. The parking lot was free and annexed to the intercontinental.
My wife and i stayed at this hotel on the 19 th of sept to the 22nd.loction was not close to the historic but made up for it by being close the shopping and restaurants, the historic section was only 70pesos taxi ride.first off the staff was good the room was more than adequate breakfast(free) was very good and gym very good.service staff excellant,we would recommend this hotel would stay again.
First, I would like to say that the staff at the front desk, lobby and breakfast area are wonderful. The breakfast bar is good but could use a change of offerings from time to time. Also, in my stay, I was in need of a doctor and they phoned one who came to my hotel room. The doctor was professional and I was grateful for this service. I also feel the fitness room is very nice. The rating of a 3 was not due to the above. The low rating comes from the room maintenance and servicing. I have been at this hotel on 2 seperate occasions. The first time, upgraded due to ihg membership level. I was in a king suite that was up higher and very nice. I did, however, have to call for maid service. The second time, an upgrade was not available and I had a room that had problems with it's AC system. It blew warm air half the time. Understanding that perhaps the room needed work, I requested another room and was upgraded. I was put in another king suite. The room is large, that part is nice. The issues with this room were a constant running toilet, a sink that couldn't drain, carpet that was pulled up and tattered in parts, stained bath towel, holes in the shower curtain, and a half used mouthwash bottle beside the sink. Once again, questionable maid service and, if you are wondering, I do tip the maid each and every day. This hotel would be vastly improved by checking and maintaining each room.
Good location. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Husband was working part of the time so I was just on my own. Walked around, even to the Central square which is a good hike...approximately 1.5 miles. Hotel is very clean. Breakfast is included and has a lot to choose from. We were there a week and items rotated. The pastries are very good. The place is geared to the business traveler...with a lap pool and exercise room, but families would be happy here too. I recommend the suite with frig and microwave. There's a table and chairs. Dishes but no silverware. A sitting area with pull out couch, a desk and a comfy chair with automan. The shuttle will take you down town and pick you up if available. Tho getting a cab back is no big deal. NOTE if you don't speak Spanish ask the front desk for a card with the hotel name and address to show the cabbie. Also get an idea of what the fare should be and negotiate with the driver before getting in the cab! We will definitely stay here again if we're back in Puebla!!!
