We needed an affordable room for the night ($92) and we are glad we chose this hotel. We were really impressed at how clean, quiet the hotel was and how friendly the staff were to us. The king room we had was spacious and clean. The bed was comfy and we slept well. We will definitely put this hotel on our "stay again" list.
We recently visited this hotel again. It is still clean and new. Management is very hands on and cares about the visitors. The room (King size bed) is large and well appointed. It has a sofa, desk and chair. We stayed in a rear facing room and one could get a glimpse of Fresh Ponds through the trees in the rear. Hotel was quiet, ac works great. Bathroom is large with a lot of granite counter space and a full shelf under the vanity. Water pressure great. Granite in the shower. Breakfast is continental. It includes tea, coffee, milk, orange juice, Two types of dry cereal, toast, bagels, pastry and fruit. Hotel is proximte to New Brunswick and about 15 minutes to Princeton. Good value for price. The room was quiet and comfortable. It has a mini fridge and microwave and coffee maker. Very nice for the price. We thank the management for maintaining a clean comfortable hotel.
The lobby is nice but the rooms need updating. The rugs throughout are disgusting. There is peeling paint and water stains all over the place. Theres dirt and grime along the walls and in the corners. We stand one night because we had a family function near by but never again.
With the exception of the young man who checked us in, this is the worst customer service I have ever received in a hotel. Stayed here to be local to a wedding. Room phone didn't work, staff failed to resolve this and then it took me 20 minutes as time ran out for them to get me a taxi to get to the wedding. The iron didn't work (and I am trying to iron a dress to go to a WEDDING!) and they sent me an Indian member of staff who spoke no English at all who proceeded to explain to my HUSBAND how to use an iron! The hotel is shabby and full of "don't do this" signs at reception. The rooms are clean, although not especially comfortable, and there is good parking. For an American hotel we were shocked. Really - I would try and find somewhere else - it's not even especially cheap.
.My husband and I stayed here one night on our drive from North Carolina to Maine. I spent quite a bit of time researching accommodation reviews and prices finding the Red Carpet Inn and Suites to best suit our needs. The young man at the desk was very friendly and noted I had requested a quiet room when I made our reservation.. We were given room 215 located at the back of the hotel. It was a very nice room except the air conditioner made an annoying noise. We asked if it was possible to move to another room and the young man graciously changed our room to 111, still at the back of the hotel. The room was very clean and spacious with a king size bed, sofa, refrigerator, microwave, TV and coffee machine. More important, the air conditioner was quieter. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the linens clean. The bathroom was clean as well except for a bit of mildew on the bottom of the shower curtain. The continental breakfast consisted of coffee, bananas, cheerios, and bagels. If you are a serious breakfast eater you would fare better eating elsewhere. The continental breakfast could have offered items such as oranges, apples, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and muffins. Overall, the Red Carpet Inn and Suites is a small, clean and comfortable hotel. The staff member was friendly and courteous. It is located close to interstate 95 and numerous restaurants are within close proximity. I would definitely stay here again.
Chose this because of their very good reviews and they were all very true. The manager and staff were all very friendly and the spacious room was very clean and comfortable. The complimentary continental breakfast was light but enough to start the day. Good coffee!
The room was nice, clean and spacious. Our heater was a bit loud for us, but not as loud as my parents' snoring. Laundry was $5 for 1 wash and 1 dry. Young man at the front desk was nice. The older man, kinda didn't understand me, and I sure didn't understand him. Parking was good. Breakfast was basically non-existent, toast, a couple bananas, coffee, cereal and only enough oj for 1 glass. Go to the Dayton Diner, it's a nice atmosphere, pleasant waitresses and good food. I understand what one of the others wrote with the linens, there's a sheet and then the bedspread, no blanket. But the bed was comfortable and we had no issues with the pillows.
First I checked in late night and the receptionist made a wrong charge on my card. Luckily the owner/GM came down to settle it right. It was a bad experience as we just drove from DC and had this difficult situation. I was glad that the rest of our stay was very good. The day duty manager Mr Jay was very helpful in storing our luggage beyond the check out time as we had to re-arrange our baggage due to a large shopping we did in the US where two of our fellows had to go by train while four of us had to fit in the car to JFK. In many of our situations the hotel staff were helpful and that made our stay full of sighs of relief (especially after we traveled from NY where many were rude to rustic people like us!)
We stayed for one night and it was a wonderful stay! Big room, bed and washroom. I highly recommend it. Great atmosphere and nice location too. Convenient parking space. Couldn't ask for more in that price range.
My family and I spent a night at this hotel to split up traveling between 2 destinations on a recent vacation. The hotel building was relatively new (within last 5 years) and for the most part, our room was in good condition. Please note that in the rooms with 2 beds, the rooms are indeed double beds and not queen beds, so if you're planning on spending a night with multiple people in each bed, plan on a cozy night's sleep. Be sure to inspect your room upon check in though. We did find a small blood stain on a bed sheet when we looked around our room. Since most cheaper hotels in Central Jersey are limited to run down motels or 'Patel Motels', this is a decent option if you're looking for a relatively low price on an overnight stay in the area.
