First, let's talk about what the hotel CAN'T control: There's a dive bar/pub attached to the hotel. It attracts Prince Albert's finest. I've been to Compton, California and felt less safe just outside this hotel. The area here is sketchy AF. That was quick. Let's move onto what the hotel COULD control, but clearly doesn't care about: - The smell of smoke: As soon as you walk into the lobby. 2 of the 3 floors here are non smoking, but the 2nd (non smoking) floor still smells disgusting, as does the lobby. - The floors: My gawd, these are the nastiest floors I've ever in a hotel room. The look to be about 20 years old and although I'm guessing they do get period vacuuming, they could really use a full replacement as I'm sure a deep shampooing wouldnt do anything. It's nasty. When they do replace it, perhaps they'll properly fix the heavy ruts in parts of the floor. There's literally giant grooves in the floor where you could play marbles. Air conditioning: It works. And by "works" I mean it turns on. It does absolutely nothing to cool the room though. Oh...so you wanna open the window? Make sure you bring earplugs so you don't hear the bar goers down below. The shower: That quickly turns into a bath because the drain is so clogged, with god knows what, that it can't even keep up with the shower flow. I'd hate to be the person that eventually pulls out that nest of hair. The best part about this hotel? The elevator closes, QUICKLY!! So when that transient follows you inside, you can press the button and rejoice as it closes before you have a guest joining you. I've definitely stayed in worse, but this place is a dump, that could use a LOT of TLC. You can tell they tried, as the paint seems like it was done within the past 5 years, but there's so much more that could be done. Maybe take the time to clean out the bathroom fan too. The grill is nasty. there's a free breakfast though!!! I can't comment on it because, after seeing the "cleanliness" of the rest of this place, there was no way I was going to willingly ingest any type of food from here. (there's a Timmies next door if you want though) Never again.
Spent two nights while on business trip in April: Pros: - friendly and accommodating staff at the front desk - clean rooms - good location Cons: - hallway, stairwell, elevator dirty and dated - rooms are clean but getting dated - very noisy at night - thermostat in the room didn’t seem to work - swing lock on the door was broken - parking lot did not seem secure at night
My son and I stayed in the Prince Albert Ramada this past weekend for a sports tournament. The employees at the hotel were very kind and helpful, but the room and experience was unpleasant. To start the safety latch on the door was broken and thermometer in the room was not functioning. During the night, alarms went off waking us up, followed by guests banging on each rooms door down the hallway waking us up several times through the night. The next night was more of the same.
Never disappointed when I stay at the Ramada. The price is always great, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Additionally, great location with Tim Hortons across the parking lot and Boston Pizza across the street. Always a satisfied customer.
Where to start..... This is an awful hotel. Had there been availability at another hotel, I would have moved. It still has smoking and non-smoking rooms ON THE SAME FLOOR, so even if you want a non-smoking room, the hallways STINK! The other hotel guests leave their bags of garbage in the hallway, and it will sit overnight and well into the afternoon the next day before it's picked up by hotel staff. I came across an empty duster can in the hallway as well, set outside a room door. The walls are paper thin, so you can hear everyone partying all night long. Being winter, the air conditioning unit in the
The hotel is a little dated but the bed and room were comfortable. As we checked in late we weren’t aware that our thermostat didn’t work. I did mention this upon checkout where the receptionist made a note to tell the maintenance team.
Walked in the door for a last-minute stay here and was upgraded to the honeymoon suite! Very nice at reception, breakfast is fine, hotel itself is a bit dated, but certainly clean and with everything I needed. Very reasonable rate. Would stay again.
I have stayed at this particular hotel many times in the last few months as I fly from the Prince Albert airport to work. The staff has always been efficient and friendly. Food is not 5 star but is of good quality.
Very noisy hotel. Was woken up by loud crashes and bangs on second floor, followed by running up and down hallways doors slamming and running up and down stairwells. My infant son woke up screaming and was up all night due to the noise and being terrified. Called the front desk three times to complain but the noise continued on till 4 a.m. Upon check out complained about the noise again and all i was told was there were volleyball teams and hockey teams staying there and teenagers will be teenagers. After that comment I will be a responsible adult and not ever stay there again with my family.
Dirty, smelly, run down, noisy, not what I was expecting from Ramada. I had my choice of 2 other Wyndham properties, and I chose the trusted Ramada brand. I should have stayed at Days Inn, or Super 8. People talking, yelling, slamming doors until 3am. Walls are paper thin, could hear the party in the next room most of the night. I spent the evening reading the bad reviews on this hotel on tripadvisor, when I should have been sleeping. Had I read the reviews before booking, I would have never stayed here. I will never stay here again. I did hear the hotel staff trying to keep the hallway quiet to no avail, the party just continued... time to bulldoze this property and start again. Temperature control in the room is non-existent. Even though the thermostat was turned down to zero, the heat pumped into the room creating a sauna. I had to open the outside door occasionally to cool the room down. This hotel tarnishes the Wyndham brand. It needs to go back to an independent name.
