facilities are a bit lacking. A shower in the bathtub (with spa jets) is fine, but please at least have a cover for the shower. Without the cover, had to constantly hold the shower head facing away from the floors. The shower head also cannot be fixed at a high position, forcing me to hold the shower head for the entire duration of the shower. Breakfast was very nice and filling for $8. Price was good considering very close to Prato station, and the reception were receptive and helpful. got a room close to elevators so very noisy especially late night comers and early leavers
The hotel is away from the town centre on the bank of the river. Unfortunately We had a room at the back of the hotel, so the view was of the back of some old apartment buildings. No privacy when curtains were open. The room is small and very basic. There is a safe in the wardrobe and a minibar fridge which is above a very small desk and chair. I personally think the space would be better utilised if the desk and chair were removed and replaced with shelving for clothes and/or a place to store a suitcase. The bathroom is an ok size. The shower is really small, but the water flow was a amazing. It isn't high pressure flow as such, its more like water flowing from a large hose. Unlike most showers in Europe, you definitely notice you are getting wet. Best shower I have had in 4 weeks of travelling in Europe. The bed was two single beds combined to make a king bed. They are slightly hard but not too bad for a hotel bed. We had breakfast included in the room price. There was a lot of food including croissants, cereals, cold meats, cheeses, a coffee machine, tinned fruit (no fresh fruit that I could see), and lots of sweet treats. It is a pity we were out and about at stupid o'clock to get to Mugello circuit for the MotoGP, so we couldn’t enjoy the breakfast every morning. All the staff we came across were very nice, from the reception staff to the ladies taking care of the breakfast area and the housekeeping staff. There is also free parking directly in front of the hotel which was great.
My wife & I visited Prato to attend a conference at Monash University- normally a university in Melbourne Australia. Many of the conference attendees stayed her as there are not that many options in Prato. The hotel has been refurbished but still has a bit of a student feel, staff tried to be helpful, but lacked warmth at times. The position is good right outside the old town, but the noise of the river outside your window can be irritating. Rooms were ok although a little cramped, bathroom was functional. Shower was 2 glass doors and you needed to fold them together to use the toilet. Unfortunately my wife found the bed was like sleeping in a rock! I was ok as I have a little more padding but my wife really felt uncomfortable. The climate control for the first 48 hrs was one setting-Hot. We had to open the windows to cool the room down. I assume someone complained as after that we could actually cool the room. Room had fridge and safe, & a small hanging area. Wifi was good. Breakfast was included- and it was really good- eggs sausages bacon, juices tea coffee, cereals, cakes, cold meats and cheeses as well as pancakes. Given the cost this hotel was fine, nothing fantastic, but clean and in a good position.
Stayed here many times and fully recommended. The art is a nice touch and helps make it a little quirky. Good value hotel with good friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great position for just about anywhere in this lovely city.
The room we got at the end of the hall was a very tiny, skinny room (unlike their pictures online)but comfortable enough and reasonably priced with a nice view of the river and a small balcony. Very good location. Nice breakfast. I appreciated the parking in front of the hotel but limited spaces.
Well-located and comfortable stay at a reasonable price. The single room was a little small by my American standards, but had everything I needed. Great service for English speakers. The hotel breakfast was very convenient as well.
Excellent hotel with great location. Best breakfast of all similar hotels in Europe. Only 300 meters away from main station and within easy access from all over Italy. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Wonderful bedding
Very relaxed stay here. Spacious room with comfy beds. Lovely reading area next to balcony, good view of river and the surrounding area. Very good bathroom facilities! Didn't get to try the breakfast but looked good. Overall hotel looks very appealing and is a very comfortable stay.
Reasonably priced hotel close to the train station. Small room but comfortably fit one person for 2 nights. Toiletries in bathroom were good although shower was strange. There was a hand-held tap over a bath but no shower curtain. This means you have to sit in the bath to be able to shower unless you want to flood the whole bathroom. Wifi was excellent.
Overall quite a good hotel. It's not in a very nice part of town but it is a very short walk from Prato Centrale and about a ten minute walk to get to the beautiful old centre of town. There are a couple of supermarkets a few minutes walk away. I was in a twin share room on the third floor. It was small but nice with a modern bathroom and view to the river. The shower was a bit of a problem though... it was in the bath with no screen (so water goes everywhere) and there was only a hand held shower head fixed low on the wall. Trying to wash your hair whilst also holding the shower head was not particularly relaxing or effective. This may seem like a small thing but a week and a half without a decent shower can be frustrating. It would have been a five star review otherwise! Other rooms had normal showers, I'm not sure why we lucked out... The lobby was nice and the breakfast very good. The pancake machine was amazing! The free wifi worked well.
