Warm welcome from lovely staff, excellent location, very clean rooms, great shower, and nice to have a balcony. Very quiet despite a building refurb opposite. Also very easy access from airport by metro in 30 mins. Slept well despite the relatively firm mattress - but most Portuguese beds are rock hard! This wasn’t. Would come again.

I really enjoyed my time at The Gate! Having staff on hand 24hrs a day is reassuring. The daily breakfast was a nice touch with a friendly attendant to get your egg order. I’m a sucker for huge windows and my room had two that opened to the main road. I would absolutely stay at The Gate again!

Me and my husband stayed for a night at The Gate Hotel. Staffs are very polite and helpful. Thank you to Hillary Gonzalo for being so nice and making sure that we're please with everything. The room is very clean and the bathroom is updated and very clean as well. Its so sad that it was only for a night coz need to go to Lisbon. Location is great. Highly recommend to my friends and will sure comeback for more time to explore beautiful Porto.

This compact hotel hit all the right points for comfort. The room maximizes space with ingenious design. A modern bathroom came w a strong wall mounted hair dryer and good water pressure and spot on water temperature. The mattress was the best we had in our two week journey around Portugal and the lighting was well considered for all tasks. The room came with a safe and multiple English speaking channels on the wall mounted TV. The staff was so nice and accommodating. I look forward to return to this conveniently located hotel.
