Had a small problem checking in after 2pm (room not ready until 3.30) but overall the hotel was great. Brill staff (including those that were in the reception), breakfast ideal and the room a decent size.
Had a single night stay here room a decent size and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Choice of continental and cooked items, as much as you liked. Staff we engaged with were friendly and helpful. Would recommend.
After an over booked apartment cancellation and hours of searching for suitable accommodation we decided on HF Ipanema Porto. As travellers we are not opposed to a bit of walking and usually prefer this as you tend to get a flavour of local life so the distance didn’t put us off. After getting our bearings we found that by turning left out of the hotel and walking straight down and over the road, slight right then left straight up a back street we arrived on the rua de Cedofeita turn left and walk through a little square and past Steak ‘n Shake and u were near the Clergios tower! It took about 15-20 mins. You can also turn right and right again which takes you to rotunda boavista where you can catch the hop on hop off bus. We booked the yellow bus tour before we arrived and although the weather wasn’t great we saw all the sights and went to the caves Calem port wine museum and tasting, well worth the price we paid. The hotel itself is immaculately clean. Rooms were spacious enough and beds made everyday. The bar area was fantastic and the staff in there were great, also the beer was cheaper than anywhere in the city so well worth chilling out there after a hard day sightseeing. Breakfast was fab lots of choice and champagne!!? The only downsize is that it was very busy during breakfast and rude guests pushed in at all sides instead of working on a one way round system. Again staff were very helpful and friendly even when it was chaos down there!! We found going later at 10ish for breakfast was slightly less busy. The hairdryers were the best I’ve ever had in a hotel and the bed although hard for my liking was comfortable with cotton sheets, duvet and nice pillows. You can buy a large bottle of water for €2 in the bar it was €2.50 for a tiny bottle from the mini bar. We went to the restaurant over the road Capa Negra II which I thought was overpriced and not great food but was really busy with locals so maybe it’s just taste and cultural difference?! If you don’t mind the walking I’d definitely recommend this hotel it was so much better than expected compared to the price of city centre hotels.
I recently stopped at this hotel before flying out of Porto. Location - Excellent location, a short walk from the City Centre. And a 15 minute drive to the airport. Parking - This hotel has parking at a small cost. Food - Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choices provided. Bar - Nice layout, live football, good prices.
We were there only for one night with a group of 16 people. Found this hotel to offer the best group rate for what it offered according to the reviews (location, comfort, etc). It did not disappoint. I made the reservations, everything was smooth and the staff was always very helpful, both before and during our stay. Location is quite central and the Uber ride to the city center was around 3€. It did not look like it would be far walk either. Rooms were a decent size and clean. Breakfast was very standard but good, had hot and cold offers, good coffee. The only negative aspect is the parking which is very tight. I would recommend it and would stay again.
The hotel was clean, but a bit run off. Rooms were a decent size, people at front desk were very kind, breakfasts included and it was good. The hotel is closed to casa de la musica, clerigos tower and the Lellos library, which is a must if you are visiting porto.
Stayed at th HF Ipanema for two nights while on business in Porto. Was quite satisfied with the hotel itself and found the location reasonably good. The hotel is right by Rotunda da Boavista and Casa da Musica. It is a bit outside the center of town but it is quite doable to walk to the center and by taxi it only takes a few minutes. There are quite a few restaurants near the hotel if one wants to eat close by. The hotel is a mid-range hotel with simple but functional rooms. The bed is fine and so is the bathroom. The desk is rather small and furnishing is basic. Still, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The lobby area offers a few services, including a bar area, and the basement floor serves as the breakfast area. The service at the hotel is good - very friendly and still professional. The staff speak plenty of languages, including English, and respond kindly to any requests. The breakfast area is a bit "industrial" but the breakfast buffet is really good - plenty to choose from and most importantly, offers really good coffee! No complaints - everything worked - would have no problem staying there again when next in Porto.
There were 4 of us and we booked a family suite, which is basically a 2 bedroom apartment without the kitchen or living room. It was sufficient and comfortable. The location is a little far away from the tourist attractions and downtown area but it definitely has an out of the way charm. Only a handful places to eat, and a great eatery place for a Porto only "fransezinha" sandwich just across the street for a late night snack (Capa Negra II). I must compliment the hotel staff - extremely friendly and helpful. Maybe it is the Portuguese hospitality. Definitely good place to stay for a reasonable price. The service is a bonus!
We booked this hotel knowing it was a bit out of town so be aware takes about 20 minutes to get to the centre. That doesn't take away how lovely, efficient and helpful the staff are at the hotel, extremely welcoming. We stayed 4 nights, the breakfast was good but is limited with its options of hot food so it can get a bit boring. We didn't have dinner at the hotel but we did get room service one evening when we were feeling particularly lazy after a very long day of walking around. It was okay nothing special but did the job. All in all it was a good hotel, and we did have a fabulous time.
The hotel is well decorated, is in a central area, close to restaurants, pharmacy and etc. The room is large enough to have 2 adults and 2 child comfortable. The decoration is kids friendly and the breakfast is very good. There is a parking lot, but not a gym.
