Located in the commercial district,30 mins walk from City centre,so very quiet at night.Centre was very busy and roads were gridlocked. Hotel had large rooms which were clean and well furnished Hasn't got a restaurant although sister hotel next door has one which is good value and there were other places to eat Breakfast room was very basic and food was adequate, both hot and cold, although busy at 9am Reception staff were helpful and courteous Would recommend for anyone who is looking for a quiet relaxing stay not too far away from the centre and is good value for money
The HF Fenix is on the outskirts of the city, so it is in a quieter and less congested area. You may pay to park your car in its garage (I believe it was about 7 Euros per day). It is an easy and relatively quick walk from the hotel to the city center. Our room was enormous and very comfortable (and clean). The hotel has a lovely bar with funky outdoor seating; it's a nice place to unwind, although the drinks are overpriced. The free breakfast has tons of options, including eggs, cheeses, pastries, fresh squeezed orange juice, sparkling wine, and more.
Smooth check in and check out. Hotel is located in central town close to all amenities and has free wifi and a restuarant located in the hotel which we did not get chance to ise. Room were spacious as we were a group of 10 hence we had 5 rooms. Thr breakfast was adequate and had varieties of hot and cold food. The orange juice was fresh and good selction of bacon , sausages and scarmbled and boiled eggs , baked beans and sauted mushrooms and hot drinks like choc , cappuccino and many more. Its enough to get your day started. There is a lovely mall just adjacent to the hotel which has food court with major fast food chains and other cuisines . A metro station is 10mins walk from hotel and takes you to the airport and is very reasonable priced.both housekeeping and receptionist were helpful and courteous. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
After many days on a large group tour, a visit to this stylish hotel was appreciated. Porto is situated on a long hillside down to the river-so walking to downtown is for the physically fit, though there is a world class MacDonalds down near the city center. That the Port wine industry is part of the fabric of this city, maybe its main attribute, is readily seen along the river passing through it-the Douro-with Sandeman and other famous brands warehouses lined up alongside. The Fenix is big and functional,
Our third visit to the Fenix , Porto , and not disappointed. Room on 12th floor , very well equipped , spotlessly clean , great views . Enjoyed breakfast each morning , lovely coffee ,pastries , & hot and cold offerings , great way to start the day. This hotel is ideally situated for us , great transport links , plenty of cafes , bars nearby, & a very nice neighbourhood. Will be back !.
We stayed here for 3 nights in July. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast and location were very good. Highly recommend this hotel to other travelers and will stay there again whenever i have the chance to visit Porto.
HF also has an adjacent hotel and others in Porto: possibly confusing when booking and when arriving. This modern hotel has refurbished public areas that provide a ‘luxury’ low-lit style with wafting perfume as you enter. Our first floor family room was huge with bunk beds for children, a play mat and play table – and lots of space left over for the adults. Everything was in good working order: the bathroom majored in a classic pink marble and perhaps indicated the period when the hotel was constructed. That said, the overall experience was good and the reception desk was most efficient and helpful. There is an underground car park with reasonable daily charges. The hotel is a little distance from the centre of the city: we walked it once via the Jardins do Palácio de Cristal: the Casa da Música Metro station is about 300metres away and city centre buses are closer. There’s lots of stalls to snack from in the complex under the nearby Hotel da Musica. The ultra modern Casa da Musica cultural centre is not far away.
Room was ok. Breakfast was good. Well located nearby a shopping mall and a very nice food market. Staff was nice. Not fitness room and no swimming pool. Parking is very narrow but price is acceptable at 9€/day.
Our first trip to Portugal, our first stop was Porto and we could not have been more pleased with the HF Fenix Porto. The room was excellent as well as the lobby and restaurant were we had breakfast each morning. The breakfast was included and was more than we expected, it included eggs, bacon, selection of fruits and pasteries, we thought it was excellent. The location was close enough for us to walk back from the Ribeira each evening. I would recommend this to my friends.
nice hotel with large rooms and a lot of comfort (rug could use a good cleaning though) the hotel is located outside the city center but easily accessed by metro/tram people at the reception are friendly and helpful breakfast is extensive with things for everybody, the pasteis de nata were really great
