Great chain of hotels, but this particular one is the lousiest in service. Firstly the reception is not at all warm and welcoming. They did their jobs fine.. but all of them were grumpy. The rooms are clean and comfortable - but the kitchenette does not have coffee, or milk sachets... I travel a lot and this is the first time the room did not have coffee. Well you can order a coffee pot that will cost you 8 euros. The breakfast spread is ok, didn’t have cereals or many vegetarian options to choose from and once again - No coffee!! The coffee dispenser was empty on 2 consecutive days. Worse there is no one at the breakfast service you can go and speak to. All in all they can improve their service
We chose this hotel because driving (especially in old European cities with skinny, cobbled roads and impossible parking) had become a nuisance and we just wanted a place with reasonably-priced parking. They have that here for 8E/day. Staff were lovely, there are a handful of cafes nearby, and an Uber to the Old City arrives in two minutes, will have you there in 15min, and costs about 8E each way. It was worth it for the peace of mind (and being able to drink Portuguese wine without having to worry about the car!).
Booked this hotel based on the price and photo's also location not right in the center. It is only a five minute walk and that means quiet at night. We stayed in one of the appartment rooms which was spacious clean quiet with nice views both ways down the river. Good breakfast assortment.
Good hotel, located just outside the city center. Big and clean room with a kitchenette, nice rain shower and comfortable bed. Also a small table and chairs where you can have your dinner or lunch. The breakfast is ok, some warm dishes, fruit, different kind of pastries. Just the usual stuff. Convenient to reach with the metro from the airport (line E to Trindade and then line D to Hospital São João), five minutes walk from the metro stop. Nearby are some small restaurants and a little supermarket. Try Leitão & Coisas, they have some tasty things to take away (sandwich suckling pig for just 5 euro and a meal on the go, steak rice chips and a salad for 10 euro). Porto is a beautiful authentic city. The people are very friendly and helpful. We recommend a cruise on the Douro river. The sunset view from the Ponte Luis is absolutely stunning.
This hotel has great rooms with kitchenettes, but you need to take your own tea/coffee & milk. Nothing provided. There are micowaves too. Staff seen very helpful & parking was easy to arrange. Excellent location for metro into city. Also easy to find. However, they have lots of coach trips in for one night only. Breakfast gets decimated and on one morning there was little to no coordination to re stocking the food or setting tables. We had to gather up unused cutlery & mugs from other tables. We even say one waiter remove mugs from a newly set table for the ones he was setting, instead of going & getting more clean ones. Second morning did seem better & there were mor staff around. Then overnight our room started to smell of stale cigarette smoke. Source was though the bathroom extractor vent. We had to leave bathroom light on to get the extractor to remove the smell, but by then the towels smelled too. If this hotel doesn't get firm with these coach tour companies & the behavior of their, generally, old smoking clients, it will rapidly become a 2 star hotel at 4 star prices. Even the dining room had a background smell of stale cigarettes. Disappointed. This wasn't cheap, even on a two night deal.
The metro towards the center cannot be closer, the service is very helpful, the rooms although with no view are more than correct, and the breakfast has high quality. You have fresh orange juice at this time of the year (July) and the oranges (I assume from Alentejo) are so tasty, that make feel your choice has been worth value.I would perhaps recommend the hotel having a sauna facility
The hotel was very local to the Metro and restaurants. Room was excellent. Great service and the bartenders make a great Espresso martini. I highly recommend the coffe shop across from the Police station. Oh yeah the Metro is right across the street and there is even an ATM there.
The two of us stayed a week in this ver modern hotel. The room was spacious, very clean and the shower special. Personnel were very helpful. We arrived on a bank on a bank holiday in Porto, decided to have dinner the first evening in the hotel. The dinner room was busy. The service went very smooth and the dinner was delicious and generous. I can recommend the shrimp starter and bacalhao main course to anyone. The hotel is easy to access. From the airport by Metro it is around a 45 min. journey. Tickets are available from Metro or Tourist office in the airport. A single cost €2.55 and a 3 day cost €15.-. On arrival you start at the airport, transfer once at Trinidade to the yellow line in the direction of "Hospital Sao Joao" which is the end station and the station you get of for the hotel. Walk in the direction of the end of the train, at the pedestrian crossing look right and see the hotel. The journey by Metro into the city centre is around 10 min. We were delighted with our choice of this hotel. But, then in the middle of the week something happened in the dining room area! We decided to eat again on Thursday in the hotel after we had had such a good experience the previous Monday. It was quiet enough, only about 5 tables were occupied, but something had gone wrong. My partner had ordered salmon as main course but it was still frozen when it was served to her. It had to go back to the kitchen! I noticed that dinners on other tables were also send back to the kitchen. The service was very slow and we heard complains from other tables. The last few breakfasts were also a mess. The tables were not reset after the first sitting. Guests arriving could not sit at cleaned tables. Food had not been replaced at the self collection areas. The coffee machine had broken down. This was happening every morning from Friday morning onwards. What had gone wrong? The first days were so pleasant. Personnel were at all times very helpful, but something in the dining area had gone wrong. They obviously know what to do, because the first days were absolutely brilliant. I think the management of the dining area had suddenly failed. Nobody was in charge anymore. Everyone was doing their own thing. There was no coordination. This should be easy to rectify. What a pity. Would I go back, I probably would. By the way Porto is a lovely city to visit.
The hotel is very new and very clean. The room was very large, super comfortable bed and modern bathroom with a kitchenette. No noise and you can watch also netflix . I've been very good and slept very well. The hotel has also a car parking and restaurant you dine very well
This small hotel is right on the river, and an easy walk to the beautiful city center of Porto. The staff were so helpful and friendly, even when I messed up on my arrival date and arrived the day after they expected me. They accommodated me with a smile, helping me out with a charming room. I would recommend this over some of the other river front hotels because it's just far enough away (about a 5 minute stroll), to be quieter. If you're a single (or close couple), I recommend room 503- lovely view and charming small room.
