We stayed at Sails Resort for four nights to attend a Wedding and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Sails has been renovated to a very high standard and it is quite evident that all the staff are carefully chosen. In all our years of travelling we have never encountered such fabulous, friendly & helpful staff. This includes all the staff members without exception. Our room was gorgeous and spotlessly cleaned with a beautiful view of the pool and river. The room was very spacious with a comfortable king size bed and two single beds. We loved the balcony with a table and two chairs to sit and admire the beautiful view. " Sails" is now our preferred place to stay in Port Macquarie. Nothing was too much trouble for Jack and Lisa at reception you are real "gems" Thank you!

Loved everything about the hotel Friendly staff members, spacious family room, heated pool.. (haven’t tried the on-site restaurant) will definitely stay here again and ask for pool access ground fl room which looked so much easier for family with little kids

We were lucky to arrive at the hotel as they were finishing up all the renovations. They were still completing the water fountain at the entrance and a path or two, but in general, the major work was finished. The hotel looked new and fresh. The lobby was beautiful and our room opened up onto the pool which was great. I would have had a very different experience if we had booked a room that overlooked the parking lot, but I did pay a little extra for a pool facing room. I think we got a good rate because of the renovations, so for the price we paid, I think our experience was great. Loved swimming in the beautiful pool with lovely views of the river beyond.

My wife and I are touring Sydney to Cairns by Road . We stopped over at Port Macquarie and booked in to the Sails - Rydges Hotel . 4 Star just been upgraded looks brand new . The rooms are out of this world . Breakfast good . The restaurant in the evening was 100 and service by management Excellent . We liked it so much we changed from 1 night to 2 nights . Cost I thought reasonable for the standard . The walks in the morning to end of the peer magnificent . We had breakfast on the waters edge alongside the hotel where the boats are parked . The town is pretty and shopping opportunity good .

We stayed here for two nights during our drive up the East Coast. The hotel itself has just been renovated and is lovely. The bedrooms are spacious and well decorated. The beds were the best we slept in in any hotel on our trip. We enjoyed the pool area, although it’s much smaller than the pictures on the website make it seem. When booking do ask for a room that isn’t overlooking the car park/main road. We were lucky that ours overlooked the water but felt bad for those sat on their balconies at the front of the hotel. The only real downside is the distance of the hotel from the town. It’s a good 10/15 minute walk into town.

Construction was still going on when we stayed. Car park had limited space and the top floor of the hotel was not completed. We were fortunate not to have any construction noise during our stay. Once complete however the hotel would be fantastic and I would definitely be coming back again. The water surrounding the place was beautiful especially when laying by the pool and looking out. Must book a room facing the water. The hotel itself is close to a shopping centre and is an easy walk to town.

Lovely hotel, beautiful views and staff friendly. I marked the hotel down by one star, because the restaurant could only cater for my Vegan needs “we can make you a salad” so had 2 minute noodles in the room instead. However, I marked you up one star because the gentleman at the bar made one awesome watermelon margarita and it was most probably one of the best cocktails I have had in a long time. Will definitely be back :)

Stayed one night here with family. Room was beautiful, very clean and updated. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, fitted with aircon and fan. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will stay here again for sure. 5/5

Access was very difficult during our stay due to all the stairs in the foyer as well as the front door being roped off. No visible reason for the stairs being closed but we were told they didn't have the compliance certificate. Staff were nice. Dinner in the restaurant was OK although the fish and chips were greasy (oil not hot enough). Breakfast is overpriced. Quite a long way from the main town so not the place to stay if you don't feel like driving.

We stayed at Sails Port Macquarie for two nights over Easter. We had not prebooked but were lucky to get a King studio overlooking the pool and water. The room was very spacious, an L shape with king bed at one end and 2 singles at other end of L and lounge in between. Beautiful views, very modern (new) facilities and helpful staff. The location was great with a lovely waterfront pathway to town and on to swimming beach. Breakfast was good and although buffet the chef was happy to cook fresh eggs on request. Would definitely stay here again if we came back to Port Macquarie.
