Close to beach, not far from Town Centre. Clean and friendly. Bathroom especially good. Plenty of parking. Try to get the package with Buffet Continental Breakfast. Was a pity to leave so will definitely came back
Apart from the shower being slow flow, this place made me feel very welcome. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was modern and clean. But the cream was the view of the beach. Local to town centre. Highly recommend.
The beds was terrible. It is very noisy from two sides of the building. At night lights from outside stream in from both sides, as one side only has frosted glass and the blinds on the other side don't shut properly.
We stayed in a ocean view studio room for 3 nights recently. The room was large enough for a short stay with views of the adjoining park and lookout above Town Beach from our room. There was a small balcony with better views up the north coast. We were lucky enough to see whales breaching across from from our room. There was a small cupboard with sink and jug. The ensuite shower was quite large but the tiles had small amounts of mould on the grout. The staff were extremely friendly and attended to our needs perfectly. The location of the hotel is just across the road from the lookout and Town Beach. The breakwall was close by also. The views up the coast from the guest lounge were amazing. It was only a 10 minute walk to the centre of town with its variety of cafes and restaurants. Port Macquarie had a large shopping precinct that catered for all our needs. The pool was quite small and not private as it was located at the front of the hotel next to the street. Parking at night was at a premium although street parking was available nearby. There was some traffic noise of a morning but that didn't bother us.
The location is stunning and the staff were great. The hotel is a little worn & showing its age. We did see 3 whales whilst having breakfast! The breakfast was just OK with poor coffee. A mixed bag really.
Room was well appointed and quiet but wifi hot spot did not work (213, corner room first floor- but it was functioning from breakfast room at the front of the building) Towels were frayed but overall, it was good. Buffet continental breakfast (if included in the room rate) was excellent. Check in was easy, quick and friendly.
This hotel is also known as the Historic Well Hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights in room 304 with a balcony. As this is an older style hotel there is no lift so you have to carry your bags up the stairs although they will help you with bags if needed or ask for a ground floor unit. The room was clean and tidy and bed comfortable. Tea/Coffee and biscuits and toiletries supplied daily and they have a mini bar for you to purchase wine cheese and chocolates etc. Breakfast was not included but is available on the 3rd floor overlooking the water. Continental for $15 or an extra $7.50 to include a hot selection. Newspaper is also supplied free. Overall we enjoyed our stay as the view was excellent.
Simple overnight stay while on the road North the booking was there room good very clean - small bathroom though but well located not noisy though their was a gale force wind howling off the ocean the whole night we were there - that’s life 💥 don’t bother with the breakfast it’s really really not worth it either in choice quality or value
HW Boutique hotel or Ibis styles Port Macquarie. Different websites will refer to it in either (not both) hence the confusion by some including myself. Stayed 2 nights here during fathers day weekend. Clean rooms. Perfect location (overlooking beach, near city centre and option of rooms with a view) however river view is not worth it as you have to get outside the tiny balcony and look to your right. My idea of a view is being able to see it on the horizon not sort of going outside to the balcony and having to peek. We were able to have a glance on one of the rooms across ours and it has the ocean view and it looked fantastic (we can see it from the hallway so that is what you call a View!!) The room is clean and has a small sink in the room for tea. Mini bar selection is ok. The sink is soooo tiny that the water boiler does not fit but You can get just enough for a couple. But if you use plates haha it will not fit. Breakfast room has fabulous views. They have continental buffet and for an additional price you have a selection of hot meals to be cooked for you. For us continental is just fine as we have light breakfast. There's a selection of cereals, yoghurt, bread (croissant and toast) and muffins. Coffee is served from a machine. There are juice as well. We like having breakfast there as it has beautiful views. The breakfast is alright but obviously not exciting and for $15 it's worth the price for a tourist destination. However one thing I noticed is that when the staff clears up the table, they don't thoroughly clean the area. For example a couple sat on the table for four people, the two cutleries will obviously not be used however they have been brushed off with jam! So the staff cleaned the table and skipped the cutleries unused probably expecting it is still clean! So yeah beware and check it i guess. The parking is tight and yes there is not enough parking for all guests as we head off for dinner one night and returned without a space. We are lucky to be able to find a spot in between small cars otherwise we will not fit (we have an suv). And NO elevator!!!!! Make sure you know that as it could be a factor for some. Pool is there but we did not use it (why there is beautiful beach across!) It is OK and we can recommend it to others with a disclaimer - if you only need a room to sleep and have a light breakfast and get the ocean view. But we will not be back as we will love to experience other hotels. :)
We stayed in a 2BR family room (#209). The room was incredibly tired (in no way do the photos on the Internet match what we received), the beds were uncomfortable, the cleaning was sub-par and the tiling & attempts to "renovate" the bathroom were clearly performed by anyone other than a builder / qualified tiler. The only redeeming features were the location and a nice view from a sitting room (outside our room) on the first floor. There must be better places to stay when in Port Macquarie.
